PE Badminton Reflection

6 Basic Badminton Rules and Regulations To Be a Winner

In badminton, we learned how to do serves, like the forehand and backhand serve. Where we also learned the forehand smashes and drop shots. Where every time in class we get into small groups and then go into games to practice the shots we learned.

Something I am proud of is being able to understand the rules in badminton and also being able to return the shots my opponent hit.

Something I still want to improve on are serves. Like being able to serve as close to the net’s white tape. Especially doing the forhand serve, I always hit it evry high, where i want to improve on it.

U2 Summative Reflection (CERER, Pitch Presentation, Outline)

How do you think your summative compared to your formative?

I think I actually did a lot better because before I was having trouble with writing the reasonings structure. Like what to write at the start and the middle, and also trying to not repeat myself. And on the summative CERER I reviewed the sentence structures and practiced it with the flint bot.

What are you proud of?

I was proud of being able to make a lot of eye contact when I was doing the pitch presentation, and also being able to memorize all the things I wrote down on my note cards. Another thing I was proud of was being able to explain my thoughts and not repeating myself when writing the CERER reasoning.

What were some challenges for you?

Some challenges were writing down the round and dynamic character traits, and also writing examples of them. Because sometimes I get confused with who is complex with one who changes over time. Because I they have many common character traits.

How effectively did you use feedack?

I used mostly the teachers’ feedback on Schoology and I focused on one of them first, and then I used the Flint bot and the Schoology PowerPoint to review them. I practiced them until I got used to it and developed muscle memory. My friends didn’t really give me any feedbacks so I only used the teachers.

If you could redo the summative, what changes would you make?

Some changes I would make for the outline are probably look at the example more and ask the teacher for some suggestions about my outline. Also I would actually change most of the story because I am making myself confused, and making it more complex for me.

What advice would I give myself on unit 3?

Some advice I would give myself on unit 3 are to ask the teacher more questions, and also review the ppt slides not just after getting the formative tests back, like just review it when there is something I don’t understand. And before the summative, look at all the feedbacks people gave me.

Set one goal for future work

I goal for myself for future work is to be more careful when doing summatives and double-check the work. Lastly make sure that you truly understand all the things you learned.

ELA Unit 2 Formative #2 (CERER Dystopian Characteristic)

What Are You Proud Of?

Personally, I think some improvements I made were understanding how to appropriately cite the author’s name and what page number it was on. And also being able to find important evidence that was relevant to my claim. I also think that I improved from the last formative to this formative because I got more familiar with how to write a CERER, and how I am supposed to write it. Even though I didn’t meet all the standards, I at least understand them.

What Were Some Challenges For You?

Some challenges for me were that I still didn’t really understand how to use conventions. Like when to use a colon or not, and also quoting the evidence from the text. Like I thought that when summarizing the evidence from the text, I didn’t need to quote it. Another challenge that I faced was writing a clear claim, because I didn’t really get what I was supposed to write in it, except for stating the author and the dystopian characteristic that I chose. The last challenge I had was that I rephrased my evidence very often.

If You Could Redo The Assessment, What Changes Would You Make?

If I could redo the assessment, some changes I would make are to study and ask more questions the day before the test. Because I didn’t really study for the conventions. Also, I would actually reread my CERER more carefully. Even though I read through my CERER, I didn’t really focus that much; I just told myself that I’m already done, so just leave it.

What Will You Do Between Now and The Summative To Meet The Standards

From now on, I will use the AI robot that the teacher created. For example, when I get home, I will pick out 15 minutes of my time to use the AI to practice with my conventions.

Unit 3: Proportionality and Percentages

What Do You Understand About The Topic?

One thing I understand about this topic is that we can calculate the percent or the percent changes using the X method. Also, when you’re dealing with tax and discount word problems, you have to first calculate the discount, then you calculate the tax from that subtotal.

What New Information Do You Have?

Some new information that I learned is that we can calculate the percent change or the percent by just using a simple method. Where also other methods like the tape diagram and double line graph can also easily tell you the answer. Lastly we can use these strategies to use them in real life, like when shopping and dining.

What Is Interesting About The Unit?

Something that was interesting was how we can find the things we learned in this unit in real life. Because when we grow up we will know how to shop, dine, and even doing tax and interests. Because there are discounts, tips, and taxes, where we use the math we learned to see what the final result is.

What Was Tricky For You?

Something that was tricky for me was to use the tape and double line diagram. Because even though it is a clear model, it just takes a long time and it’s also kind of annoying to use when you try to calculate a complex number with it. Sometimes you have to guess how many lines or boxes you will have to draw out between the double line graph and tape diagram.

Social Studies Unit 2: Visual Presentation

What The Task Was And Why I Chose This

The task was to create a unique presentation by using different ways, for example, making a video, creating a game, making a short film, making a choose your path book, creating a Minecraft world etc. After we made it, we presented it to students and parents, using our presentation to explain how the positive and negative impacts impacted society. I chose to make a video because I like to edit videos and see the final product, also I have multiple experiences and want to use this opportunity to practice it and to also learn from this project.

Something That Went Well

Something that went well was I made a lot of eye contact with the audience, where I also had very detailed speech. Talking about all the positive and negative impacts briefly.

Something I Can Work on Next Time

Something I can work on next time is probably projecting my voice more. Because I was presenting it pretty quietly. And also when I was talking, there was a few times I fumbled, where I should’ve practiced more.

Social Studies Unit 2: Essay

Steps That I Took

The steps that I took to write my essay was I first started to research the transportation I chose by finding articles online. While reading the articles, we annotated it with different colored highlighters, which represent the different information. Like the positive and negative impacts, and the important/helpful information. After, we put all of those informations into a graphic organizer which lays out the positive and negative impacts, and also how the government fixed the issue. And then we wrote out our CERER into another document which is based on each category (positive, negative impacts, how government fixed it).

Something I Did Well in My Essay

Something I did well on my essay was explaining how the evidence supports the claim briefly and clearly. Where I didn’t repeat any information that I said before and not using false information when I am explaining the reasoning.

One Thing I Still Need to Learn to Do

One thing I still need to learn to do is write the conclusion because I still don’t completely understand how to write it, like I still haven’t fully memorized the structure of it, like what to include in it.

Health Unit 3 Reflection (Healthy Decision Making)

The Decide Model

The Decide Model can be helpful for making difficult decisions by laying out the steps that you’re going to take to analyze whether your peer-pressured decision is valid or not. Also, it can help you decide which step is the correct one to take. For example, when you think about the consequences and values, you can decide what the best option is. The DECIDE model stands for Define, Explore, Consequence, Identify, Decide, and Evaluate.

Effects Of Different Substances

Some things that I learned about the effects of different substances are that different types of drugs can affect your human body in multiple negative ways. For example some effects might be getting dizzy, getting cancer, getting addicted, risk of heart disease, and high blood pressure. There are also different types of substances packaged that look like candy to lure the youngsters to use them. They can be highly addictive.

Math Unit 2: Proportionality and Scale Drawings

What do you understand about the topic

The things that I understood in this unit were how to identify whether something is a scaled copy of its original, and also how to calculate the scale factor, which can help us know whether something is a scaled copy. And I also understood that the scale factor is similar to a COP, and the scaled copy is similar to a proportional relationship.

What new information do you have

Some new information that I learned in Unit 2 was you can also use the scale factor to find the area and perimeter for the scaled copies. You can do it for the area by just squaring the scaled factor, and you multiply the squared scaled factor by the original.

What was interesting about the unit

Something that was interesting about this unit was we got to learn how to use math in real life. For example, if you’re doing a project in DT or any kind of building related, you can use these math to calculate the measurments.

What was tricky for you

Something that was tricky for me was calculating the scaled copies with word problems. Because most of the times I struggle with word problems and don’t really understand what it is asking me.

Unit 2: Analyzing Online Health Information Portfolio Reflection

What I Used To Think

I used to think that when someone does a trending health-related video, people or the audience will just follow it, no matter what happens. And also, when I was scrolling on YouTube shorts, I knew that some of the health claims are false, and I thought that most of the claims are just true. And later, I just don’t care anymore. And before I never thought that there were any steps to approach on knowing whether the claim was true, for example, the CRAAP test (currency, relevance, authority, accuracy, and purpose), I never knew that was a thing until I learned it. How I used to determine whether a health influencer was credible was by looking at the number of subscribers (even though that was the wrong thing to do), and when watching their videos, I would look at the description to see whether they had a doctor-licensed note.

But Now I Think

Now I think that 50/50 of the influencers online are credible, because after analyzing/watching a lot of influencers’ videos, I saw that their description have said they are a doctor from a health university. A new strategy I learned after this unit is that we can use the CRAAP test to analyze whether a health influencer is credible or not. I can first find out whether the influencer’s video is outdated, and then we can see if that video is related to our age group or to us. Next, we see whether if the influencer has any sources, of as being a doctor or being sponsored. Then why analyze why he/she is posting the video. Finally, we see what the purpose is and have a conclusion. From now on, I will approach health influencer videos by looking at the description and when it was posted, because I don’t think it is necessary for you just to do a full CRAAP test when you’re just trying to entertain yourself.

Math Unit 1 Proportional Relationship Summative Reflection (Dream Party Planning Sheet #peppapig20thbirthday)

What Do You Understand About The Topic?

Something I understood about the topic is calculating the constant of proportionality, and figuring out what has a proportional relationship.

What New Information Do You have?

Some new information is knowing how to get the constant of proportionality. Where I also learned to be able to find the proportional relationship, we will first need to find the COP. Also I learned that Peppa Pig is actually 21 years old when doing the project.

What Is Interesting About Unit?

Something that was interesting about the unit was the process of making the project sheet. Because we could choose our character and birthday party theme, which was very cool. Also, if we had to plan a real birthday party in real life, then we would know what to do.

What Was Tricky For You?

Something tricky was finding a setting for the party, because we were kind of struggling to find the perfect place for Peppa Pig, where we were trying to find a pretty crazy place.
