https://saschina-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/personal/devon_fisher_saschina_org/_layouts/15/Doc.aspx?sourcedoc=%7B80ABD824-644F-4F6F-9017-8917B7B684F0%7D&file=Alan%20%20Fu%20-%20L4%20Unit%202%20Design%20a%20Story%20Problem%20-%203759664.docx&wdOrigin=OFFICECOM-WEB.MAIN.SEARCH&action=default&mobileredirect=true

1. Describe your story and what real-life situation it modeled

We choose to create our story around the idea of how the odd of a game might increase or decrease due to want is happening on during the game

2. What part of your project are you most proud of? Why

The proudest part was when we solved the question together because we spent a lot of time making the thing up and we didn’t have as much time as we would want to solve the question

3. What was the hardest part of creating your piecewise function

The hardest might also be solving the problem because we didn’t have as much time as we would want to solve the question as the end

4. lf you could revise one part of this project, what would you improve and how?

We would have taken less time to agree on the topic and then spend more time working on the project

5.What did this project help you understand better about piecewise functions?

I think this project was useful to help us understand the topic as it allowed us to see how these types of question might happen in real life

Unit 2 Topic A and B Test Reflection (Functions & Statistics)

A. Evidence of Your Best Thinking

Select two questions from your Unit 2 test that best show your thinking.

  1. I chose Question 2 as evidence of my best thinking because it showed the process of how I gotten the final result, step by step
  1. I chose Question 1 as evidence of my best thinking because I explained the critical thinking to the best of my ability

B. Skills Reflection

Complete each sentence honestly and thoughtfully.

  1. Throughout Unit 2, I improved the most at using statistics because I was new to this topic and I learnt a lot in this topic
  1. One skill from this unit that I still need to work on is statistics because even though learnt a lot from this topic, I still have some parts that I need to improve on
  1. The biggest challenge for me on this assessment was reading some of the question and I also have to remember to plug the unit into the slope to get the correct answer
  1. One strategy that helped me on this test was I had good time management skills and I had time at the end to check my answer

Part 2: Goal Reflection & End-of-Semester Check-In

A. Looking Back at Your Last Goal

Last unit, you set this goal: Making sure that I didn’t make any dumb mistakes

  1. How well did you work toward this goal?
     ☐ Somewhat well
  1. What helped you make progress toward this goal?
  2. I made sure that I rechecked my answer every time to make sure I read the question and make sure the answer was correct
  1. What got in the way of this goal (if anything)?
  2. Somethings I still made some mistake which I would try to avoid next semester

B. End-of-Semester Self Reflection

  1. List three strengths you have shown last semester: Linear function, algebra and volume
  1. List three areas you still want to improve: Making sure that I don’t make any dumb mistake, proving triangles are congruent and statics

C. New Academic Goal Moving Forward

Complete all parts:

  1. In the next unit I want to improve my mental math so I can solve things quicker
  1. What might get in the way of this goal?
  2. I might get annoyed if I don’t do it fast enough
  1. What will I do if I get stuck or need help?
  2. I would try and practice it more to get more fluent

 Mixed Media Self-Portrait

We had to create an art work of our self portrait and we started of by spray painting a piece of board and then design what we would be putting on it. We then had to create a photo of ourself and then print out things that identity us as us. The key message of my artwork is that my identity is built from several passions that are all equally important to me: listening to Jay Chou, playing and watching soccer, and enjoying time with friends in nature. To communicate this, I placed my self-portraits in the center and surrounded them with specific images and symbols that represent these parts of my life, such as Jay Chou album covers, music notes, soccer photos, and team logos. The colourful scribbled background connects all of these elements, showing how these interests are not separate, but blended together to create who I am. While making this artwork, I took risks by mixing different kinds of materials, like printed photos and simple painted portraits, instead of just drawing or just painting. I also tried a harder layout by using two faces and placing the pictures at angles, instead of in straight, even rows. I experimented with strong, bright colors and quick, scribbly lines in the background, which was risky because it could look too messy, but it helped the artwork feel more full of energy, like me.

Swimming Unit Reflection

In this unit, we learnt how to play water polo and practice basic swimming strokes. We practiced basic passing drills, dribbling skills and played a modified game of water polo. In this unit, I learnt how to play the basic of water polo and how to communicate and play with my teammates in the water.

Kool Koor Workshop

1. Cultural Influence on Aesthetic Choices

Kool Koor’s background in Bronx graffiti greatly shaped his art style. Growing up in a vibrant urban environment, he was influenced by bold colors and creative techniques found in street art. This might be seen in his use of bright colors and dynamic forms, reflecting the energy of graffiti. His journey from the streets to a studio likely helped him mix these styles, creating a unique blend of urban and traditional art.

2. Environmental Impact on Art Creation

Moving from street art to studio work changes how an artist creates. In the streets, artists must be quick and spontaneous, often responding to their surroundings because their acts are mostly likely illegal. In a studio, they have more time to plan and refine their work. While trying Kool Koor’s painting style, I felt this shift—street art feels free and wild, while studio work is more controlled and detailed. Each place inspires different choices in art.

3. Personal Reflection on Aesthetic Development

When making my self-portrait mixed media artwork, my culture and environment will influence my choices. I can use colors, patterns, and materials that reflect my background and experiences. For example, I might include traditional designs or textures that remind me of home. By blending these elements, I can create a piece that shows my unique identity and connects to my culture.

Our Groups Artwork

Social Studies Inquiry into Interest

L3 Visual Presentation

L4 Presentation

For our Social Studies Unit 1 project, we had to create something called the Inquiry into Interest where we had too first choose a topic that we are interest in, after this, we had to create a inquiry question and my question was” How did Hitlers Blitkreig tactic during World War 2 (1939-1945) influence future military tactic.” I choose to challenge myself in this process by doing the L4 which means I need to create a 7-10 minutes presentation about my topic. I had to find time to do this after I finished my L3 Visual Presentation and I felt like I did well in this unit and I was locking in at home to ensure I finished everything on time.

Science Semester 1 Active Leaner

For our semester 1 science, we had to create a goal for ourself and the goal take I choose to set for myself is improving on constructing better scientific models and I have been practicing constructing scientific models in class to ensure I am working towards my goal

What are you most proud of in this class so far?

The MeteoRITE or MeteorWRONG project when I showed persistence even in times of struggle and I successfully finished my project in time

What has been your biggest challenge in this class?

I felt like somethings, I need to managed my time better to spend more time on science to make sure I am ready for the next lesson

How have you demonstrated the qualities of an Active Learner — preparing effectively, participating fully, collaborating well, staying positive, and reflecting to improve?

I feel like I participate well in class and I also have stayed positive in group works

Unit 1 Math Sticker

This is my sticker project and I got the ideas from Lord of the rings, Youtube, FC Bayern Munich and other blends of my personal hobbies. For this sticker, we had to apply all 4 transformation, translation, reflection, rotation and dilation. I successfully applied all of these transformation and it allowed me to earn a 3 for my final grade

Language Arts Unit 1 First Contact

For our first unit in language arts, we had to teach an”alien” grammar so it could tell us why he was on Earth. My alien Xylar came from the distant Threnn System and he came to Earth with the hope of creating intergalactic friendship and sharing groundbreaking discoveries with humanity.

After Xylar was able to create a sentence, we then had to annotate the paragraph by checking did the alien master all 8 part of speech, was it able to identify the3 different part of sentence and why alien Xylar was able to master all of these. After this, we still had to check the connotion and the denotation to see if your was any hidden meaning in the aliens word.

Art

We went to the Museum of Art(MAP) in Pudong and we saw 2 different exhibition, one is El Anatsui and another is the path of modernity. The essential question that we had to answer is ” In what ways can an exhibition influence the ideas, belief and experience of an audience”. For El Anatsui, we saw that in his artwork and his work often reflects his cultural background and heritage, allowing audiences to understand and appreciation for African art and culture. In addition, the second exhibition, we saw different artwork that came from different time periods from least modern to most modern which showed us how the different artwork has changed through out the different time period and evolution of artistic styles and ideas.
