Art Sketch Book Cover

This is my sketchbook design. The original draft included some of my hobbies, and also some aspects of my life. I wanted to include a tennis racket and a volleyball because those are the sports I do. This shows like a important part of my life. The tennis racket points towards the volleyball and then the volleyball points to the ticket.

Badminton Unit

In badminton unit I learned how to serve better and use strategy to try and win a match. I also learned the offensive position and defensive position as well as holding the racket effectively.

Unit 3: Identity and Healthy Relationships

This is the relationship analysis presentation. My group did this analysis on The Summer I Turned Pretty which is a romance show. The purpose of the analysis was to identify the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships as well as red and green flags. In THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY, the main character, Belly, is in a relationship with Jeremiah and also feels things for Conrad. Jeremiah and Conrad are brothers.

Some of the most important things I’ve learned this unit is on how to give consent like it shouldn’t be forced or pressured by another person. I also learned that healthy relationships have no secrets and are financially equal and with respect. An unhealthy relationship might have manipulation or be abusive. I also learned about gender where there are many different types and gender is not specified as two boxes “Male and Female” it’s more like a spectrum that people can feel more towards one or they can feel multiple different genders.

Unit 1 Active Learner Reflection

What are you most proud of in this class so far?
(Think about times when you showed persistence, improvement, collaboration, or deep understanding.)

What has been your biggest challenge in this class?
(For example: managing time, staying focused, contributing in group work, or understanding a concept.)

I am proud of my organization in my notebook

How have you demonstrated the qualities of an Active Learner — preparing effectively, participating fully, collaborating well, staying positive, and reflecting to improve?

The biggest challenge I think is sometimes getting stuff done and following instructions.

Are there any areas where you want to grow or improve next quarter?

I think ive done well in participation next quarter I want to work on following instructions.

Unit 2 Portfolio- Reflection on Learning

Before I started learning about mental health conditions, I used to think that conditions like anxiety and depression weren’t that serious because I’d seen people joke about online and my friends would say things like “I’m depressed” or “I have anxiety.”

However, now I think that mental health conditions are really serious and are often misunderstood such as people who suffer from mental illnesses like anxiety an OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) actually experience really serious affects and suffer alone. My perspective has changed because now I understand how serious mental conditions are and the stigmas surrounding them and how it’s not okay to joke about mental disorders.

Health: WOOP Goal

I want to manage my stress levels and mental health using a wellbeing app.

Some measurable outcomes I have are:

  1. Maintain a healthy schedule for myself using Headspace (app)
  2. Within 4 days, get into the habit of checking in with Headspace everyday.

This is my progress so far with the app:

Headspace has 4 mindful activities everyday such as meditating and also wellness checkins. There is also a monthly checkup with will show the amount of stress and anxiety I have every month and it will track how high my stress is. The application I used most was the meditation videos. The app promised that it can reduce stress significantly. After using the app, I feel like my stress levels have decreased just like the app said I feel like I use many of the methods such as listening to calm meditation music really help calm me when I feel stressed. The app includes little achievement badges and goals to encourage me to check in everyday.

Health Unit 1: Dealing with Stress

In this unit, we learned about dealing with stress. Wr first learned the parts of the brain that correlate with emotions and stress. We learned about the differences between a teen brain and an adult brain. The teen brain is more rash since there is a less developed prefrontal cortex. The adult brain has a more developed or developed pre frontal cortex which makes the adult more calm during stress.

Understanding the differences between a teen and adult brain is important to help us understand how to deal with stress correctly.

Something that I learned to deal with stress is by breathing slowly using the box breathing method and write a careful plan for myself on a notebook or sticky note.

Math Probability Fair Reflection

The game I made with Veena and Mia was called the “Duck Game”. The game was basically a tub with a bunch of ducks. You have to randomly choose a duck from the tub with your eyes closed and see what colour it is.

There weren’t any major conflicts when working with the project.

Something that went well was how many people wanted to play our game. Something that needed work was maybe sorting out how many prizes each people got. People get getting to many prizes and people kept playing more than once.

The theoretical data was a 4 percent chance of winning and the chance of loosing was 21 percent however in reality a lot more people won the biggest prize.

Unit 6 Reflection

In this unit, we learned about molecules. There are extended structures such as glucose and simple structure such as water in matcha boba tea. An extended structure is a more complex shape than a simple structure but has a pattern. The chemical changes in matcha boba are in the heating of the pearls, the colour and temperature changes when heated a key indicator of. chemical change. The physical change is mixing the matcha withe the milk and water.

To enhance my learning, I could have reviewed more for quizzes. I think the unit was planned well, and I really enjoyed it.
