Apprentice tasks reflection

Collaboration: Collaboration in academics is not just about completing tasks; it’s about weaving a network of knowledge, skills, and relationships that support students’ growth and prepare them for the complexities of the world beyond the classroom. It is the bridge between individual potential and collective achievement, a vital component of a well-rounded education.

These apprenticeship tasks would help me to improve my collaboration skills of working in a team with my classmates or with my future colleagues. It allows me to working in a team and achieve more goals with my teammates. I have learnt that it is important to know your teammates and your strength and weakness in order to be more collaborative. It is also important that we should leverage strengths and mitigate weaknesses by utilizing your own advantages to compensate for your teammates’ shortcomings.

Creativity: Creativity is a important factor of generating great ideas. Creativity is the key of exploring new problem solving solutions. These great ideas would provide more and more great solutions for me to solve my academic question.

As automation and artificial intelligence reshape the job market, creativity becomes increasingly valuable. It is a distinctly human trait that machines cannot replicate, making it a critical asset for future careers.

critical thinking: These tasks has helped me develop a more open-minded outlook and a greater appreciation for diverse opinions. I also came to understand the value of self-reflection; by examining my biases and thought processes, I can continuously grow and improve. This involved analyzing daily communication, researching commonly used words, and reflecting on my own speech patterns.

Ultimately, being a critical thinker has empowered me to confidently navigate life’s complexities. It has provided me with the tools to approach challenges thoughtfully and effectively.

communication: Communication is one of the most important skills of the academic journey. These skill would help me to interact with others, make friends, and develop a sense of belonging within the school community. Improving my communicating skill would allow students to work effectively with peers, share ideas, and build on each other’s strengths to achieve common goals.

These apprenticeship tasks improved my skills of engaging with the curriculum, asking questions, and expressing their understanding, which are all critical for academic success.

resillience:Reflecting on my journey of resilience, I recognize it as a vital skill that has shaped myself and approach to challenges. Resilience is more than just bouncing back from setbacks; it involves adapting to adversity and learning from difficult experiences.

It is important that you know why you have failed the first time so that you could keep improving until you are able to solve the problem. This process involves skills such as approaching challenges that could help you to enhance your emotion management even if you have failed on the same part again and again.

Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
  • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
