What did I do?
Day 1: We chose our product and found a capable recipe that was easy to make. We listed all the ingredients that we needed, and designed a signature item with a bakery name.
Day 2: We calculated the cost of the ingredients, and found the unit rates for the ingredients.
Day 3: We provided explanation of the calculation of the cost of one batch, the amount of servings that were to be sold, and the cost of one serving. We found the percentage of markup, sell price, and profit that we earned.
Day 4: We made our projects, and determined our sell prices.
What did I learn?
I learned how to make pancakes using videos and photos online while learning how to calculate the unit cost, markup percent, and the profit.
What worked?
We were able to calculate the percentage of markup, sell price, and profit correctly and found the recipe that worked really well.
What did not work?
We didn’t earn any income and also lost some money because the price that we put up was to low. We sometimes lowered the price because we were afraid that we weren’t able to sell all of the pancakes. We should have kept the same price and not lower it.
How is this relevant for me?
This wasn’t relevant for me because it doesn’t really help me with my math skills by making food. This also isn’t relevant for me because learning how to make pancakes isn’t something that can help me.
