Reflection

Effective Collaborator:
For collaboration, I analyzed the cover of the song, helped the teacher sort bags, and participated in the zoom activity. Collaboration is super important for coming up with new ideas and solving problems together. From my experiences working in groups for school projects and activities, I’ve realized that trust and open communication are key—everyone needs to feel like their thoughts matter. When team members feel safe sharing their ideas, it leads to more creativity and better outcomes. I’ve also noticed that working as part of a team allows us to learn from one another. Each person brings their own strengths and experiences, which can make the group more effective. For instance, some team members might excel at organizing tasks, while others shine in creative thinking or presenting ideas. By combining our skills, we can achieve far more than we could individually. In my opinion, collaboration not only helps us achieve our goals but also allows us to learn new things about ourselves and grow as individuals. It teaches us the importance of adaptability and the value of different perspectives, making the process both rewarding and enriching. As I continue to work with others, I’m excited to see how these experiences will shape my understanding of teamwork and leadership.

Skillful Communicator:
For communication, I did EQED and wrote a guide on how to use Taobao. Communication is an essential skill that plays a huge role in our everyday lives, especially as a student. I’ve come to realize that being able to express my thoughts clearly and listen actively to others is crucial for building strong relationships and succeeding in group work. Whether it’s in class discussions, group projects, or even casual conversations with friends, effective communication helps us share ideas and understand each other better. One thing I’ve learned about communication is the importance of being an active listener. It’s not just about waiting for my turn to speak, it’s about really engaging with what others are saying. When I take the time to listen, I often find that I understand my classmates’ perspectives better, which leads to more meaningful conversations. This has helped me build stronger connections with my peers and work more effectively in teams. I believe communication is a skill that I will continue to refine throughout my life. It not only helps me express myself but also fosters collaboration and understanding in my relationships. As I navigate my academic journey, I’m excited to keep improving my communication skills, knowing they will serve me well in both my studies and future career.

Resilience:
For resilience, I made a vision board and did a headspace meditation. Resilience is an incredibly important quality that I’ve come to appreciate, especially as a student facing various challenges in school and life. It’s all about the ability to bounce back from setbacks and keep going, even when things get tough. Throughout my experiences, I’ve learned that resilience isn’t just about being tough; it’s also about being adaptable and open to change. I’ve learned that failures and obstacles are part of the learning process. For instance, there have been times when I didn’t do well on a test or struggled with a project. Initially, it felt discouraging, but I realized that these moments were opportunities to learn and grow. Instead of giving up, I started to focus on what I could do differently next time, whether it was seeking help from a teacher or studying in a new way. This shift in mindset has made a huge difference in how I approach challenges. Resilience is a skill that I’m constantly developing. It’s about embracing challenges, learning from failures, and leaning on my support system. As I move forward in my academic journey and beyond, I’m determined to cultivate my resilience, knowing it will help me navigate whatever life throws my way.

Critical Thinker:
For critical thinker, I explained my process of uploading an app I made to the Appstore and the survival sheet. Being a critical thinker is a skill that I’ve come to value immensely throughout my time as a student. It involves analyzing information, questioning assumptions, and evaluating different perspectives before forming an opinion or making a decision. I’ve realized that critical thinking is essential not just for academic success but also for navigating everyday situations and challenges in life. One of the key aspects of critical thinking is the ability to ask the right questions. In class discussions or while working on projects, I’ve learned to dig deeper by questioning the information presented to me. Instead of just accepting facts at face value, I try to understand the reasoning behind them and consider alternative viewpoints. This approach has enriched my understanding and often led to more thoughtful conclusions. Being a critical thinker is an ongoing journey that I’m committed to developing. It involves asking questions, being open to different viewpoints, and evaluating evidence critically. As I continue my education, I know that honing my critical thinking skills will not only help me succeed in school but also prepare me for making informed decisions in the real world.

Creative Learner:
For creativity, I designed a dice and printed it out as a gift for my friend. Creativity is a skill that I’ve come to appreciate more and more as a student. It’s not just about being artistic; it’s about thinking outside the box and finding unique solutions to problems. Throughout my experiences in school, I’ve learned that creativity can be applied in many ways, from writing assignments to group projects and even everyday challenges. I’ve learned that creativity is that it thrives in an open and supportive environment. When I feel encouraged to share my ideas without fear of judgment, I’m more likely to think freely and come up with innovative solutions. For instance, during a recent group project, we were tasked with creating a presentation on a complex topic. Instead of sticking to traditional formats, we brainstormed and decided to create a short skit. This not only made our presentation more engaging but also allowed us to express our ideas in a fun and creative way. I think creativity is a vital skill that enriches my academic experience and personal growth. It involves thinking outside the box, making connections, and embracing experimentation. As I continue my journey as a student, I’m eager to nurture my creativity, knowing it will not only help me in my studies but also in life beyond the classroom.

Three Hours

A difference I spotted while listening to the two songs is the tone. For the original, the tone is way deeper than the cover. In my opinion, I think Chris Brian’s cover of the song was pretty effective. Honestly, I prefer the cover over the original. This is mainly because I like the softer and more relaxed tone of Chris Brian.

Headspace Mindfulness

This 10 minute meditation made my stressful day less stressful. I had a Chinese test today that made me feel very stressed out. By doing this meditation, it allowed me to release my stress and feel much better inside. I think I should do more meditations in the future because I feel stressed out quite often.

Gift for a friend

I first designed this dice on my laptop using Tinkercad. Then I used the 3D printers in school to print this dice. I made this dice for one of my friends.

EQED

EQED is teaching blind Chinese kids English. I have taught 3 lessons already, each lesson being 45 minutes. This club allows me to strengthen my teaching skills.
