The task was create a visual presentation and present individually. I chose to do my visual presentation in a 3D model format because I think it would be interesting to do a mini version of the maglev and demonstrate how the maglev levitates above the track.
One thing I did well is I successfully presented my model and talked about the negative impacts, positive impacts, who fixed it, (etc.). I also spoke in a medium voice so everybody could hear.
One thing I could improve on is speaking in a more clear voice and speaking in a more fluent voice, like not having that much stops and filler words.
The steps I went through to write my essay was first researching and gathering information about my topic, then putting it and summarizing it into the graphic organizer. Then, we gathered the information and wrote it into CER form and put it into our CER organizer. After, we pasted it into our final document and edited it while adding citations, transition, (etc.).
One thing I did well in my essay was writing my claim, because I clearly wrote out and stated my topic.
One thing I can improve is my reasoning, because some parts of it is just repeating the evidence and claim.
The essential question I chose to answer was, “What happens to our bodies when we get sick?”
What we learned about body systems and/or cells were the organelles and how they function an their role. We also learned how the body system provides what to our body to maintain our lives. This relates to how our body is a system made of subsystem made up by a group of cells because organelles make up cells, and cells make up organs, which make up a system, and systems all together (subsystem) makes up the human body. Also, it also relates to how what parts of the organelle provides what to help us fight the germs/viruses in our body.
A learning experience that was impactful or memorable was the Cell Analogies. This is because I personally like group projects, because we can discuss about the project and ask our group mates to clarify things. Another learning experience that was memorable or impactful was the Blind Box Model. This is because I like physical models because I am used to presenting my thinking in a model.
One thing that I would like to improve is checking the rubric more carefully. This is because sometimes I would only scan the rubric so I would probably miss some of the instructions. So because of that, sometimes I would get a 2.5 because I didn’t read the instructions carefully.
The intended audience was people who celebrate Christmas and also people who likes cats. The purpose of this piece was to spread the spirit and warmth of the winter holiday to people while also to animal lovers.
A design strategy I used was unity, because in the artwork, every part of the piece works together to make the setting/design. Another design strategy I used was shapes, I used organic shapes to make the objects and animals.
How do your final clay piece and name drawing reflect different aspects of your identity (who you are)?
My final clay piece and name drawing reflects on who I am by having all the elements that I like, and objects that appear in my life. It also reflects on who I am because it has my style of creating artwork, and drawing style. I really like doodling so in my name drawing I added doodles and scenes based on the background color. For the clay piece, I added furniture from my room and made the overall style very cozy.
2. How did you demonstrate persistence while creating these two works of art?
I demonstrated persistence while creating those two works of art by completing the pieces successfully and on time, and also completing it with elements of my identity.
Some feedback that I received and incorporated in my work was adding more statistics and facts into my paragraph of logos, like why it is important, why are we doing this, and what it has to do with our community. I added more emotional impact into my paragraph to let the audience actually feel involved in the scene and what she was feeling.
One thing I am proud of this unit is my final project. This is because I wanted to try something new and challenge myself, so I chose crowdfunding campaign instead of video or like an influencer video. The final project was better than I thought it would be, because I actually wrote the Ethos, Pathos, and Logos specifically.
One thing I want to keep working on is diving deeper into the connotations of words/ phrases. This is because sometimes I don’t explain the connotations of the words specifically.
Bias is the perspectives of two or more groups that is different. For example, someone broke all the pencils in the tool basket, and another person was really mad and says they did it on purpose. But that someone says that he was only trying to sharpen them. So when other people heard about it, a group of people thinks that he did it on purpose, but another group of people thinks that it was just an accident.
One positive outcome of people having the same perspectives might be that they could save less time and less situations that could lead to bigger problems. Or when they both agree on something they react on it together and work as a group.
One negative outcome of people the same perspectives might be that they are both wrong and because of that, the actual truth of the situation might not get found, so the person who is actually in that situation might be frustrated because MAYBE the person is actually right.
