Health Unit 3

The final project was about analyzing the relationships in books, movies, and songs. The book we chose was heart stopper. We analyzed the book and tried to understand the flaws in the book.

What we learned:

We learned about being inclusive. and how people have different gender identities but some of them had organs taken away to match what people thought they were. After that we learned about healthy relationships and the difference between flirting and sexual herassment.

Water Polo

I think I did very well in the water polo unit I tried very hard and supported other players too. I learned how water polo works. Most of the time I stayed as striker but sometimes I would go on offense. I also learned how to receive the ball using one hand. I think the water polo unit was very fun. I don’t really like invasive games but I liked the Water Polo.

Health Unit 2 Reflection

I used to think that the people who had mental illnesses were dangerous because they can attack you any minute, but that isn’t true more people who don’t have mental illnesses cause crime. There is more of a possibility for the people who have mental illnesses to be attacked and not the one actually attacking. I used to think that mental health was having exercise and being happy and health, but there’s more to it.

Now I know what it’s like to have mental illnesses and now I know that the people who have mental illnesses suffer way more than other people and they always have to deal with stigma and discrimination. On the out side they might look like they’re ok but on the inside and the side you don’t see they are suffering and struggling to find help.

Test Reflection

On my test I made some silly mistakes and didn’t understand some things, but I went to my teacher and talked about what I need to improve on. My teacher showed me what I improved on, what I should be proud of and what I need work on. This year is different from last year because last year we had units but this year we have units with topics. I think this year everything is more organized. And this year we have more warm ups at the start of class. I like that this year we have more freedom of choice last year everyone did the same thing. This year we have more physical real world problems for example finding Ms. Sha’s height. We are trying to figure out Ms. Sha’s height using cups. In the first unit we also made our own stickers using math, which is also a real world problem where companies make new designs of stickers to sell. Each one of the students made their own designs and used math to translate, rotate, reflect, and dilate the images to make other images on the sticker. The students studied all they needed to know about the topics and what is expected of them. Our teacher also has an excel graph about the topics we improved in, mastered, and need help on. I think I did pretty well on my test there were only a few things I needed work on.

Math Unit 1 reflection

Throughout this unit, I improved on my rotation and mapping rules.

I feel like I still need work on dilations specifically negative dilations, because that is what I got wrong on the test.

I think I improved a lot from the start of the year, I compared both of my tests then compared what I got right and what I got wrong. It was better than I expected surprisingly.

I think the orange classes during unit 1 was very fun and you got to collaborate with many different people, some of them were better at math and some of them needed help. So having the different scenarios kind of forced you to change your mind set and adapt to the situation in less than 3 seconds.

Now we’re working on functions, we have been reviewing functions from 7th grade meanwhile learning more new things about them.

I think the sticker project was very fun because it made all the students creative and everyone shared their ideas using math.

At the start of math class we would have warm ups and we will put our homework on our desk and wait for the teacher to check it and during the waiting we will do the warm up. The warm up will be about what we learned last class and maybe what we might learn in class on that day.

We usually do group work/table teams but sometimes there will be individual work too.

In this unit we will talk about proportionalities and how they relate to functions. Right now we are using plastic cups and drawing graphs to see how many cups we need to stack up to reach Ms. Sha’s height.

Winter Concert

Now we have a new piece called winter with you. We will combine with VMM to perform this piece.

Hypothesis: The app will help you keep track of tasks and improve organization to achieve no overdue assignments

  1. This app can help me keep track of what I need to do. to have better organization.
  2. I think after using this app I will keep up with no over-dues after 7-10 days.

This is how I keep track of things. I use 4.Do

Day 7

Last year I didn’t have anything to manage my work so I got some over dues. This year I have 4.Do to help me with my work.

About 4.Do

The free version provided all necessary features for my organizational needs, making the Pro upgrade unnecessary for achieving my goal. The 4-quadrant system made it easy to organize my assignments and provided clear visual guidance on what tasks to prioritize each day. Quadrant labels clearly distinguished between urgent tasks that needed immediate action and less important items that could be scheduled for later. Completing tasks was straightforward – a simple click on the checkmark marked assignments as done, providing immediate visual confirmation of progress. The app effectively handled diverse task types, managing not only school assignments but also household chores and tasks assigned by parents. The app proved highly useful for my WOOP goal, eliminating my overdue assignments completely. Starting with 1 overdue task, I maintained zero overdues throughout the 7-day testing period. The visual quadrant system served as an effective alert system, clearly highlighting when assignments were approaching their due dates and preventing them from becoming overdue. 4.Do’s organizational system decreased my anxiety about assignments, as the visual layout assured me that important tasks were clearly identified and wouldn’t slip through the cracks. I encountered no significant limitations in the app’s usefulness – all features I needed for achieving my no-overdue goal were available and functioned effectively. The color-coded design effectively communicated task priorities, with distinct colors clearly indicating what needed immediate attention versus what could be scheduled for later. 4.Do is pretty easy to use. I do recommend it. (written in collaboration with flint AI)

PE Goals

I think we should have more time for table tennis because it was really fun and competitive. It was nice because we could spend time with our classmates and beat them and sometimes lose to them. In table tennis I got to learn more about table tennis and improve my skills from last year.
