Unit 3: Identity and Healthy Relationships

The purpose of our project was to show how this movie tarzan does not follow the boundaries such as when tarzan picked jane up without consent and that is a violation of her consent and a violation of her boundaries.

There was also a big gender stereotype such as tarzan being very buff and masculine and jane being this perfect girl in he yellow dress and her british accent.

There are also times in tarzan when the communication part of this relationship has no good communication because when they were eon the viones tarzan just picked up jane without communication and the only time they actually communicate is at the end of the movie when they can speak english that is a sentimental factor.

Gender stereotypes often create unfair expectations about how boys and girls should act. For example, people might think boys need to be tough and never show their feelings, while girls should always be caring and gentle. These ideas can be really limiting and make it hard for people to just be themselves.

Consent is super important in all relationships. It means that everyone has the right to choose what they are comfortable with, whether it’s in friendships or romantic situations. When we break down these stereotypes and focus on respect for each other’s choices, we create a safer and more supportive environment.

This way, everyone can express who they really are, without fear of judgment. Embracing our differences helps us build stronger connections and friendships

PE Aquatics Unit: Water polo

During this unit, I really enjoyed working together with my peers. Whether we were brainstorming ideas or helping each other with challenges, the collaboration was both fun and rewarding. In water polo, I focused on being a supportive teammate. I made sure to communicate well during games and encourage my teammates, which helped create a positive atmosphere. I truly believe that a strong team spirit not only boosts our performance but also strengthens our friendships, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Working together like this has been a highlight for me!

Health unit 2: MENTAL HEALTH REFLECTION

In this unit we learned about mental health and how it is overlooked and we also looked at the stigma and we also had 2 projects this unit one being there is an app for that being were you chose an app and review the app and talk about the limitations and the things that are good I think i have grown since the first unit because I achieved a good score. The next project was were we had to pick a mental health issue. Such as anxiety and eating disorder and ptsd you had to choose one option out of 6 and my group choose ptsd and we had an option to choose as you can see below I have 3 photos 2 of my app that I reviewed and the one on the bottom being my health presentation about ptsd.

At the beginning of my research of ptsd i thought only people who were in a war could have ptsd from the war like experiencing a bomb or gunshots. But I have now learned that there are multiple forms of ptsd and anyone can get ptsd they just have to be involved in a tragic event or one that will scar them such a a car crash or being really close to being very injured such as a rollercoaster breaking down. And in the begging of this unit i thought that mental health patients are bad like the killers in horror movies but I only learned that 5 percent are killers from mental health places. And movies also portray them as the bad guy but most of the time they are not they are just scared.

Eating Disorder: I used to think that eating disorder was just you cant stop eating. But then I learned that it is caused by other factors such as losing a loved one and being sad and just eating or eating because you had a bad break up.

Depression: I thought depression can only effect people who have lost a loved one or something else tragic. But than I found out that anyone can get it and I can connect it to eating disorder because people who have depression usally are not okay with their body Etc……

OCD: I first thought OCD effected your brain and I thought people just said like im so OCD. But then I learned people with OCD tend to do things with more perfection such as perfecting their desk at their house or sorting everything perfectly and it.

Social studies unit one

In preparing for my presentation on the development of the three-point line in basketball, I found myself delving into a topic that goes beyond mere statistics—it’s about how this innovation has transformed the game and influenced the players and fans alike. During my presentation, I shared stories of players like Larry Bird and Stephen Curry, who have redefined what it means to be a shooter in basketball. Their journeys highlight how the three-point line has not only changed gameplay but also inspired countless young athletes. This have given me a lot of key info about the three point line and were it originated from.

Woop goal

My wish is that I want to be able to control my emotions in my sports games and not crashout/overreact. I think my app supper better will help me achieve my goal because superbetter make you take some tests and those tests when you finish go to your lab and then it shows you all of the tests you have done and then combines them to make a percentage. The app has benefits such as Super Better provides daily challenges that contribute to a resilience score, creating a structured approach to building mental strength.n The app’s point-based system for completing challenges offers clear progress tracking and motivation. Some of the bad things are. One significant limitation is the restricted number of challenges available per day, which may limit user engagement for those wanting more intensive practice

how the app helped with my specific goal:

  • “The app directly supported my goal of staying calm during sports by providing breathing techniques that I used before games to manage my reactions.”
  • “Super Better’s breathing exercises became a practical pre-game routine that helped me maintain composure during sports activities.”

My measurable data:

  • “After 6 days of use, I achieved a total score of 36 points, with emotional resilience comprising 33% of my overall progress.”
  • “My results showed measurable engagement with emotional regulation features, as evidenced by earning 33% of my points through emotional challenges.”

My initial hypothesis that Super Better would help me avoid overreacting during sports was confirmed through practical application. he app’s breathing techniques proved effective in real-world situations, successfully helping me maintain composure before and during games. Over 7 days of consistent use, my resilience score increased from 15 to 51 points, demonstrating measurable progress in emotional regulation. his 21-point increase (140% improvement) provided concrete evidence that the app was effectively supporting my wellness goal.

Design part:

For the positive design elements:

  • “The app features an appealing visual design with vibrant colors that could effectively attract and engage users.”
  • “The point-based reward system successfully motivated continued use by providing daily goals and achievement milestones.”
  • “Super Better incorporates gamification through daily tasks that must be completed to ‘win the day,’ creating a sense of accomplishment and encouraging regular engagement.”

For design limitations and concerns:

  • “The absence of sound effects or audio feedback somewhat diminished the user experience, though it didn’t significantly impact the app’s effectiveness.”
  • “While the daily task system provides structure, the limited number of available challenges per day may restrict users who want more intensive engagement.”

For business model analysis:

“Notably, the app appears to operate without in-app purchases, suggesting a user-focused rather than profit-driven approach to wellness support.

The Promise:

  • Aspirational Ideals: Promises often represent an ideal future or a desired outcome, such as making progress, being more successful, or achieving a better state of being.

The Reality:

  • Challenging Assumptions: Realizing a promise requires questioning what is taken as fact and challenging accepted truths that may not be immutable.

Math Unit 1 Transformations Reflection

I choose number 6 as my best question because I explained the question and answer in depth and also i got it right which is a key factor and it was also the one I answered the best. I also think question 7 is another good question because i explained keenly I also used key vocabulary. Through this unit I improved the most on my dilation due to the activities we did in class. Something I need to work on is remembering my prime notations on my math signs and on questions. . List three of your strengths so far this year. One my transformation skills two my drawing skills for my sticker design three my transformation skills. Is time management to manage my time to study. Another thing that I should improve on for the next unit is to have a little bit of neater handwriting. The last thing i need to improve on for the next unit is to improve my communication skills. In the next unit I want to be able to get a 3 or higher on my celebration of learning. Something that might get in my way is my basketball because on the days I want to study. What i can do if i get stuck is ask an adult at my house or come to school and ask my math teacher.

Unit: 1 first contact

One thing I did well in this unit was my paragraph and also when I had my conference with the teacher was describing all of the verb and remembering the 8 figures of speech. Another thing I did well in this unit was my annotation as you see below this text is my annotation I used key colors so that you can tell what is what in this. One thing I need to work on is my connotation and denotation when I was talking to the teacher during my conference because I kept making the same mistake when saying my connotation vs denotation was forgetting what i had wrote and i think that impacted my final grade. I also Needed to fix my paragraph and also make it a little more complex.

Health Unit 1 Reflection

Okay so the point of doing this presentation was to show what we know about the brains system and also the brain and some coping strategies and also teenage vs adult brain and the parts of the brain. Some parts of the brain is the prefrontal cortex we talked about this all throughout the unit the prefrontal cortex is the The PFC is the last brain region to mature, typically developing fully in late adolescence, explaining the lack of advanced cognitive skills in childhood. Usually in the teen brain when you are older than 25 your PFC tends to mature. Okay so some key things to take away from this unit is the distress and eustress so the difference is eustress gives you like dopamine because eustress is like a thrill like riding a roller coaster or playing a sport but distreess is when you lose a relative or losing your job. Okay so some other key things to take away from unit one is the amygdala the amygdala is 2 almond shaped brain structures that play a role in FFF=Fight,Flight or Freeze it also is like the bodyguard of the brain. Okay so next is the hippocampus, the hippocampus is like a seahorse shaped part and plays the role in the memory storage and learning so this is were most of your knowledge is stored. Okay so one other thing is delayed gratification compared to instant gratification, so instant gratification,so say your video game is pre releasing and is a hundred dollars and you buy it,compared to delayed gratification is when that same video game is pre releasing and you wait for that game to be on sale.

Brain science has impacted the understanding of how my PFC is not fully developed which can lead to kids about my age making bad decisions and making dumb decisions. Some things I learned about the teen brain is that teens respond to stress way different than adults do. Another thing I learned was the teen brain can easily adapt/respond to new scenarios like learning a new math skill or learning a flip they get that very quick. The understanding of the teen brain might help adults realize that there child might be making not so good decisions due to the PFC not fully developed yet. Some stress management strategies that i could include in my routine is probably box breathing before i go to bed so I am relaxed and not hyper and excited.

Table tennis unit 1

Some things I learned throughout the unit was how to add more spin and also fix my smash. I also got a loot better at playing doubles.

Some things i need to work on is my drop shot and also putting the ball just barley over the net instead of fully putting it over.

So a full summary of this unit was i improved a lot and fixed my spin i am also working on fixing my drop shot I also was warming up every class by playing with a classmate mainly one of friends and also wich also made me get bettwre throughout the unit.
