I think I need to work on the effective collaborator goal, because I did not do great on language arts and it is associated with the effective collaborator goal.
My goal: I want to improve my effective collaboration, by giving better peer feedback and listening better to my feedback.
In language arts I will use the feedback I get from my peers, flint, I will build on their constructive ideas, and I will give them meaningful constructive peer feedback.
In social studies I will use the feedback I get from my partner(Finn), to improve our work, and I will give him constructive feedback.
This year I have already read 2 novels, but I think that I will not be able to reach 30 books because sometimes I cannot find books that I like so maybe I should revise my goal and change it to 20 books.
I am proud that since creating my vision board I have coded a few games. I have received a lot of support from my dad while making these games, but I think I still need to read the huge python book if I want to get good.
I think the next steps for me to achieve my goals are to read the python book, and I need to always have a good book to read.
What I did for my visual presentation was that I made a animation on FlipaClip. I chose to do my presentation in this format, because I loved making films in 6th grade, and I saw the example at the beginning of the unit and I new they did it on FlipaClip so I chose it to.
I think I did well at being creative, because I got a four for that part. I am very proud that I got a four, especially, because I worked very hard on the animation.
I think I could put more steam locomotives inside, because some people did not know what it was about. Inside my visual presentation I only included 4 steam locomotives, yet my whole presentation was about steam locomotives. Next time I will do better.
This is my unit 2 essay about the steam locomotive. The steps I went through to write this essay were, first we did research, found articles, and found good quotes, then I wrote about the positive impacts, wrote about the negative impacts, and wrote about how the government fixed the negatives, lastly I wrote the introduction, and the conclusion.
I think my reasoning was ok, relative to how I did on the formatives. I think that I could have been a little less wordy, but overall it was good.
I think I still need to work on my writing style/grammar, because I got a 2 on that. I think I was to wordy, and I did not read over it enough times to catch my errors. Next time I will do better.
In the begging of the unit I only new some stuff about percentages, they are percent out of a hundred, and that they could be converted into fractions and decimals but did not know the formulas.
During the unit I learned the conversion formulas, percent change, tip, tax, and markup. I feel like I learned a lot this unit.
I found that tip was very interesting. There is no reason to give tip yet it is a social norm, why?
I felt that understanding if tax or tip came first, in the end I realized that you first do tax then do tip.
In the summative project we had 2 choices for what we did, I picked choice b which was “How do our body systems work together when we play our favorite sport?”. I learned how the mitochondria turns glucose into ATP, but that it does it 13 times faster with oxygen, and that the blood is oxygenated inside the lungs. This helped me answer my essential question by teaching me how my muscles get energy. This relates to the idea that the body is a system of subsystems made up of groups of cells, because it tells us me how the whole muscular system is made up of tiny tiny cells.
I think the edible cell helped me learn. The cell analogies also helped. I liked these activities because it helped me see the organelles in a different way. Seeing them in a different way was helpful because it helped me see the purpose of the organelles. I think that I am a hands on learner.
If I could redo my assessment I would redo my CER. My grammar was bad in my CER. I would redo my CER because bad grammar is bad.
When I was placed into table groups I accepted it and did not make anyone feel excluded. When I was asked to put the folder away for the table I did not complain and did it happily. When I am asked to talk to a parter I talked with a partner. I raise my hand in class every day, and contribute to conversations. When I worked on a dystopian story with my partner I did most of the work and did not complain. When I did product branding back in the day I worked with my partner efficiently.
I think I deserve a meeting, because I participate, listen, and do my share out most of the time.
For the summatives I think I did great. In the formatives I did absolutely terrible. I think that I did great, because compared to the formatives I did very well.
I am proud of my presentation. I was super nervous, but I practiced a lot. I am proud of my presentation, because even though I was super nervous I practiced and did ok.
I though that the CER was very challenging. I am not very good at CER’s and I tanked the formative, and I had a hard time determining the central conflict. I thought it was challenging because I am not good at CER’s and I had a hard time determining the central conflict.
I think I used my feedback well. In the CER summative I got 3 more points than I did in the formative. I did much better in the summative after getting my feedback so I think I used my feedback well.
If I could redo my presentation I would practice more and use movements. Ms. Devin told me that I needed movements and I looked to nervous. I think if I had practiced more I would have had movements and I would have been less nervous.
If I were to give myself advise for unit 3 I would tell myself to make sure I am 100% focused. I think if I was 100% focused I would have done better because I think I think I wasted at least 30 minutes of time.
For future work I will focus and be on task during school. I think this will help me, because if I learn everything in class I will not have to do extra work at home.
