PP Project D2

AI-generated Pictures + Research with Midjourney

Starting out from the original action plan, I began with getting a Midjourney account and doing some research with my overall theme of the clay project. Since I was absent for some time, I skipped most of the research part of the project and directly went to using Midjourney. I started generating pictures that could possibly help with the outline with my clay project. I am also researching into better prompts for AI to effectively generate pictures I want.

Additionally, I am also finding resources on taobao that I can use. Other than that, I am also planning out the total price of the resources I need.

Passion Project Day 1

For my passion project, I am envisioning my masterpiece as a clay-based scenery filled with vibrant colors as well as aspects from game designs and anime. Artificial intelligence could support the baseline of the scenery by providing outlines or brainstorming ideas about the overall shape of the masterpiece.

After I pitched my ideas to my peers, I learned a lot about where I should improve on my project. They mentioned how I would need a clearer plan regarding creating the actual project. Since the clay-based scenery would take a long time to build, time management would play a crucial role in this project. Not only the building but also the drying and planning of the project would take time. Thus, I created a clearer plan with the help of the action plan. Additional specific goals and dates were added to the plan. This made me have a better sense of my project, regarding aspects of creating and planning it.

This was the mind map that I drew on the first day of Cohort 1.

The mind map of Cohort 1 definitely helped me a lot regarding narrowing down my focus and setting specific goals for my project. I was able to find something out of all my passions and choose something that really sparked a light in my heart. The mindmap played the role of a library, where I was able to pick out the ‘book’ or pick out ‘books’ that really fostered my passions. From the experiences in Cohort 1, I was able to discover passions within myself that were buried deep within me and that I often didn’t think of. I gained insights into my own passions as well as insights into others’ passions and pitches.

I am deeply excited for the journey of my passion project.

Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
  • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
