Resilience reflection

For my resilience practice, I focused on three activities: two mindful eatings and one mindful walk. These activities were surprisingly relaxing and helped me unwind. The first mindful eating I did on my own, and it was a calming experience. It gave me the chance to reflect on my day and plan for my upcoming finals without distractions. It felt nice to be present with my meal, focusing only on the taste and texture, which allowed my mind to slow down. The second mindful eating I did with a few friends. It was still relaxing but in a different way. We had the chance to talk about how our days went and what we were looking forward to, which made it a fun and social experience. I appreciated the balance between mindfulness and conversation. For the mindful walk, I went solo again and spent 15 minutes walking around the school. It was peaceful to just move and reflect without a set agenda. I focused on being aware of my surroundings and letting my thoughts flow freely. Overall, these activities helped me slow down and relax, offering a much-needed break from the stress of daily life and finals preparation.

Communication reflection.

For communication, me and a few other kids went to the elementary school gym to read to some younger students. I was in a group with Geno, and we read The Lorax to a few kids. It was such an enjoyable experience! I loved watching them get so engaged with the story. Seeing their reactions to the characters and the plot was really cute and heartwarming. It’s amazing how a book can spark their imagination and curiosity.Another thing we did was help give tours to some new kids who had just joined the school. We showed them around, introduced them to different areas, and even played basketball with them. It was a great way to connect with someone new and help them feel more comfortable in their new environment. I think it made the transition a little easier for them.During this time, I met Umar, who’s become a new friend. He’s a really nice guy, and I’m so glad I got to spend time with him. We had a great time talking and bonding over the activities we were doing. I’m looking forward to getting to know him more and seeing where this new friendship goes!

critical thinking reflection

Me and geno had to draw a comic strip using four really random objects. the objects were a basketball, a gnome, a broom and we needed to use these to stop a robber. we came up with an idea where the robber came in and got scared by a gnome. this caused him to stumble backwords standing onto a broom which hits him and as he falls onto the floor a basketball comes down and hits him on the head knocking him out. this was quite hard to do as it was hard to connect these three random objects together but me and geno were able to do it. The other task i did was to analyse the trolley problem which was quite fun as it was a mental dilema. At the start it was the simple version of either letting the trolley hit 1 guy or 5 people so it was easy to choose. but then it became whether you would push 1 random person onto the track to save 5 people and this caused a mental dilema as it became much harder to choose which option was the correct one. even though both were the same scenario the second one just feels alot more morrally complicated.

creativity reflection

Creating a card game with Geno and Jason was such a fun experience! We had a blast bouncing ideas off each other and figuring out the mechanics together. I’d never played Rummikub before, but they described it as somewhat similar, and I was excited to try our own twist on it.The goal was simple: be the first to get rid of all your cards. You could do this by either collecting three or more of the same card or by forming sequences, known as straights. Once we finalized the rules, we made sure they were fair so everyone could have a good time playing. What made it even more enjoyable was the part where players could mix and match cards in the center, allowing for some sneaky strategies! During our first game, I found myself totally immersed in it, trying to outsmart the others to win.Seeing our game come to life and experiencing the excitement of playing it together was truly memorable. It was a perfect blend of creativity, teamwork, and a little friendly competition, and I can’t wait to play it again!

collaboration reflection

collaboration tasks.

Alot of the collaboration tasks that i did were actually with my whole class. like the zoom thing that we did witch was really fun. everyone had a picture which was a zoomed in version of another picture and it was really fun trying to go into the right order. this allowed me to interact with alot of people. Then me an some other people helped sort the pieces for the science project. it was quite fun as we were just all going in circles constantly filling the bags. Then i did task ten for collaboration where i had to hear two versions of the same song and find the similarities and differences. one was a music video while the other was a solo production so the main difference was the qualities of the video. The original had background singers as well as background music while the remake had just one guy singing and playing the guitar at the same time. The collaboration tasks were all quite fun as i was able to work with people in my class along with my friends. The zoom task was the most memorable for me as it was the first time i connected with alot of people.

creativity task 4

jason geno and i made a card game where you try to get rid of all the cards in your hand. each round you can either draw a card or place cards. you have to place cards in the middle either in string that are the same color or just a group of the same cards(starting from 3) the first person to finish all of their hand wins

collaborator task 10

the two versions of the song three hours are very different. the original one by nick drake has two voices in it giving it more contrast along with the fact it has more instruments this is due to the fact that the one by chris brain is produced just by himself so it only has his voice and the guitar hes playing.

skillfull communicator

during learning lab me and a few other people showed the new kids around the school. during this i got close to a new kid called umar and he was really nice. we went around the school showing him the different buildings as well as different parts of the school.
