For our final project in health, we had to analyse a relationship portrayed by a media or movie, which me and my partner chose “Titanic” to explain Rose and Cal’s romantic connection and the characteristics of their relationship. The purpose of this project was to interpret how negative/positive relationships are shown by medias, and how the characteristics influence people’s insight. As we focused on how there are violations of boundaries, consent, and miscommunication depicted in Titanic, we concluded that unhealthy relationship was presented through Cal’s abusive control, infringement of consent, and enforcement of gender roles/stereotypes.
Some important health ideas I learned throughout this unit was the how boundaries, consent, and communication are essential in healthy relationships, the difference between gender norms, gender identity, and gender stereotypes, moreover how they influence relationships.
Boundaries/Consent: The concept of boundaries and consent are crucial in maintaining healthy relationships where it can help avoid discomforts or trespassing others limits
Gender norms/identity/stereotypes: There are different definitions and conceptions in these words, which can all influence relationships or behaviours. Gender norms are acts that someone should propose based on their biological gender, which is often mis-concepted as gender stereotypes- A assumption on characteristic based on gender, while there is also gender identity, a conception of one’s own gender.
Influence of Gender stereotypes: Gender expectations and stereotypes can impact relationships by considering that men should hold dominance, or in jobs, there are often stereotypes of men having more advanced capabilities than women.

I picked this artifact since it best reflects my overall performance and participation during the Socratic Seminar by showing exact times of when I’ve spoken ; it indicates that I need to improve on longer talking times by elaborating more on my thoughts and ideas, also I lack details when proposing ideas as a communicator; however, I am able to effectivly find chances to build on others, and give valid responses.

Previous Thoughts:
I used to think that mental health issues can be resolved/cured easily and permanently by therapy, whether its anxiety, PTSD, or OCD, also that it would not impact our daily lives as profoundly. For example, for anxiety, I previously thought its a feeling of anxiousness that occurs often, and that a few therapy sessions could teach you some techniques to simply “turn it off.” However, it is a physical state that could effect relationships, career, and quality of life, which it is not a minor inconvenience.
How my thinking changed:
Now after learning more about mental health by doing research, and listening to presentations about different mental health conditions, I understand how severe or complicated some conditions may be, that therapy dosn’t directly cure these issues, and many actions performed daily are all correlated to mental health, therefor it is as fundamental as physical health. For example, Anxiety, it is long-termed, uncontrollable, and can dominate thoughts, that causes other negative impacts to daily basis.

My current goal for science active learner is to always produce work/assignments with my best reasonable effort, and try to extend the quality of work. I am working towards this goal by carefully following directions of the rubric, while working on assignments, completing most tasks on time, and also organzing all my work.
I am most proud of preparing ahead of projects and class work, with getting organzied of them, also being always prepared for class. One biggest challenge I face in science is paying attention to class, since I get easily distracted, which also led to disproportionate scores on my 3 for 3’s.
I demonstrated qualities of an active learner in science by being prepared effectively, and collaborating well with my peers.

Questions that reflect my thinking
I chose question 1 (Describing a sequence of transformations that will map pre-image to image) as evidence of my best thinking because in my pre assessment, I wasn’t able to describe the mapping process of pre-image to image, and at first the transformations were confusing to me; however, I was able to demonstrate that I understand what transformations were performed in this question of the COL by listing out the correct transformations applied.
2. I chose question 4 (Describe transformations and to show congruence of the pre-image and the image) as evidence of my best thinking because it shows that I acknowledge how two images are congruent to each other based on the transformations performed.
Improvements and Strengths:
Throughout this unit, I improved the most on understanding concepts of triangle congruency acronyms, SSS, SAS, ASA, and AAS) moreover applying them to problems since at the beginning of the triangle congruency lessons, I always get the acronyms mixed up, and I was clueless of how to apply them to prove congruency ; however, I improved by doing more practises during class, also doing the extensions, which now I understand how the acronyms are correlated to triangles congruency.
I feel that I still need to work on understanding and applying my knowledge of dilation to my assessments, since I did not perform well on the questions involving dilation from a point or finding the centre of dilation. My main difficulty was visualizing how the scale factor operates to a fixed point, and how to use provided information to a envision dilation.
Strengths so far this year:
Improvements for next unit:
In the next unit, I want to extend my knowledge more based on concepts learned in class, and to apply them fully on formatives/summitives; however, it would be challenging since it requires high concentration during class, and extra practises. If I need help, I would find the teacher for feedbacks and parts to improve.
Woop Goal Baseline:
If I continue using my screen time app, I will be more productive on my homework and studying as time goes on. There are multiple outcomes after using the app for 7 to 10 days, such as getting high marks on assignments, gaining more sleep, and having more time for breaks. This app is connected to my goal, since I lack organization on many assignments due to strong procrastination on my phone. My average screen time is 3 to 3.5 hours per day; therefore, the app would enforce limitations on my screen time, to keep me task for school.

Functionality of APP:
The core feature of the APP is to block me from other applications that would get me distracted, since I frequently go on social medias, such as tik tok and start scrolling, which stops me from doing work. Furthermore, it can forcefully enable me to focus on study/homework. Setting a time limit to my apps is the feature that I used the most, because I can’t be able to control a limit of the usage of other apps, therefore, I need this feature to stop me from going pass the limit. However, the least used feature of the app is the “Deep Focus” mode, which is a mode that prevents you from exiting the blocking session early, or to change the session time, since it creates anxiety, and in case of emergencies, this feature would block me from reaching for help . This is also a part of the limitations of the app, that it is unable to detect if there are exigency on user’s phone, resulting in users un-alerted.

Usefulness:
The app supported my hypothesis by blocking distractions on my phone and decreasing my screen time to keep me focused on work. Therefore, I was able to finish many of my assignments ahead of time. Some specific changed measures that were tracked over the 7 days was my screen time, which was about 1.5 hours on my phone per day. This decreased a lot from my past screen time, that was 3 hours. Moreover, I would spend the rest of my time completing tasks at school or doing other activities, indicating that the functions of the app effectively reduced my screen time. Lastly, there were no assignments that I had to rush at the last minute, meaning that I had improved my ability to focus on tasks and complete work ahead of deadlines.

Design:
The core feature of One Sec is to diminish the habit of opening an app, or to reduce screen addiction by shutting apps down, therefore, users would continue using the app because it successfully breaks negative habit loop, and there is a positive feeling of regaining control with your phone after a certain time limit. The app can be manipulative, however largely beneficial. One Sec is a tool for self-regulation, (forcefully quiting addictions) it is very effective for concentrating on deep work, and someone with severe procrastination; however the app can be arguably manipulative, with it forcing it’s own rules, and controlling user’s management with distractions. Addtitionally, even though the app can build healthy habits with organization and management with tech/social medias, due to the enforcement of keeping user’s off distractions, users may rely on the app too much, leading to dependency when they’re facing other distractions that couldn’t be controlled.
The app’s business model is mainly focused on premium subscription; with free tier, it offers basic functionality (blocking certain numbers of apps, and having limited sessions per day) however, with a subscription, it offers more features such as ulimitied apps, time tracking, sticker blocks, and advanced analytics… The advancement of premier’s functionality leads users into buying a subscription, this model could influence the its design, to be helpful but limiting enough to make users feel they need an upgrade, for example, they may only block 4 apps at most.

This first unit in language arts, we learned grammar (8 parts of speech, sentence types, and connotations/denotations) through a simulation with an alien, by teaching it how english and grammar works, to find out it’s motivation coming to Earth. Then, we would analyse our alien’s learning process (a paragraph produced by them) to show our understanding towards parts of speech, shades of meaning.. Lastly, we would have a conference to present our analysis to Mr.Fisher.
Something I did well on this unit is I am able to analyse and explain how the 8 parts of speech work in a sentence, moreover how they add clarity to text. However, I had some difficulties with understanding shades of meaning, and how they are used in my alien paragraph, additionally, I need more improvements on explaining the functions of connotations.

How learning brain science effect my thinking
Learning how teen’s and adults prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus functions helped me understand how I make my decisions, why I would tend to take risks, and a better understanding of myself, moreover developing coping strategies with stress.
Unexpected Fact
The most surprising thing I learned was that was a-lot of parts of our brain would be activated/ effected when we’re dealing with stressful situations. For example, the HP4 from hippocampus would release cortisol, that makes your brain shrink in size, which would also affect the pre-frontal cortex for making decisions, or that the FFF would be triggered by the Amygdala. Before I thought that the detection of stress does not impact your brain in so many ways.
Improvement on Communication/ Relationships
Understanding the teen brain would help teen’s improve on communication and relationships by identifying their emotions, how to cope with them properly, also how to not let our emotions take over our decisions in relationships.
Stress Management Strategy
The most functional stress management strategy is box breathing, exercising, and mindful breathing. However I incorporate exercising the most in my schedules, since it is the most useful way to help me reduce stress, and that it is also healthy for your body.

In this unit, we learned how to serve, playing doubles, and how to do back hands, by playing alot of games. I mostly improved on hitting the ball in a area where its difficult for the opponent to catch (strike) , and saving the hits using proper movements to hit. Something I could work on is to collaborate with my partner effectively in future games by making who to hit the ball more clear.
