SOCIAL STUDIES UNIT 2: ESSAY

First I wrote the Body paragraph the positive negatives and how they fixed the negative problems. And then I wrote the introduction and conclusion, after ms. sawyer took a lot at it and annotated it and wrote comments and then we use the comments and fix it so it can be the best it can as a final piece.

1. thing that I did well is I made my essay in time and used my time wisely.

2. One thing that I still need to learn is doing the best I can in one try, and don’t need to use that much tries.

UNIT 3 MATH REFLECTION

U: In this unit I learned how to calculate percent change in different scenarios, and I also learned how to calculate the tips and tax. I showed and applied my learning in my Unit 3 summative project where I was comparing to restaurants, lady m and paris baguette.

N: In this unit the new information that was new is the formula to solve tips and tips, because before this unit I knew there was tax and tips but I didn’t know how to calculate it and use the formula. So I learned this in this unit.

I: It was very interesting this unit because I had a lot of fun creating my ppt slides and presenting it to Ms.Ari’s class. I also had a great time learning all the formula’s because I think it was fun this unit.

T: The part that I found tricky was appling a tape diagram or double number line to my work because I didn’t really get the way when we are learning.

UNIT 2 SCIENCE REFLECTION

  1. When you’re sick, your body activates its immune system, releasing white blood cells and chemicals (cytokines) to fight invaders like viruses or bacteria, causing symptoms like fever (to make invaders uncomfortable), inflammation (aches/sore throat), increased mucus (to flush germs), fatigue, and loss of appetite as your body prioritizes defense over other functions, essentially waging a “war” to clear the infection and repair damage.
  2. I learned specifically the sickle cell anemia, and this helped me because I learned that the blood cells are really one of the main point.
  3. Because the cell is part of the “chain” so the cells help the subsystem which is organs and the organs are in the organ systems so they create a kind of “chain” and each parts helps the other parts.
  4. The Dissection helped me learn the most because we get to look at it with our eyes directly.
  5. Review games also helped me learned because I get to play during learning.
  6. I think I should improve on CER writing because when I write the CER it was harder and I think I should check before submitting.
  7. I also should check the rubric more carefully so I know what to do.

ART REFLECTION

Artwork Title: Respect all Animals

My Intended audience is all people, especially people who doesn’t love animals. This is because if we think about it the other way if we were the animals, would we love people to not respect us, throw trash into where we live be rude to us, and can do whatever to harm us, kill us? We wouldn’t want that right so we should treat them like the way we wanted to be treated.

The Strategies that I used is. Contextual Relevance: Complexity, this is because I used a lot of details for example specifically the thing in the green pool, the litters and I drew all of them really detail. I also used visual symbols: use of icon: I used the hunting gun so it would be more straightforward and more emotional. And these can make my artwork more emotional.

MATH UNIT 2 REFLECTION

U: I understand what a scaled copy, scale, sclae factory, and similar figures are. I also understood the formula to find a scale factor and a scaled area.

N: Something new in this unit is definitely a scale factor. Before this unit I didn’t know what it was, and I didn’t even hear about it.

I: Something interesting in this unit is that we get to look at geometric shapes and find the scale copy, and also make the scale copy of it. I find it really fun to do.

T: In this unit, I think finding the Scale Area is really tricky because I didn’t really understand the formula to find it so I can’t find the scale area of the shape. So I think it is really tricky.

P.E AQUATICS UNIT REFLECTION

During this unit, I learned how to collaborate with my teammates, and I learned different skills. I also improved at swimming faster and quickly. But the thing that I learned the most on is artistic swimming.

ART REFLECTION

  1. The clay tile reflects my love for flowers, as I am somewhat obsessed with them, so I think it is a great opportunity to express that. Also, I dreamed of wearing a flower crown before, so I tried to incorporate it into my artwork. For the other clay project, I did a snake in a cup, which symbolizes freedom, and I always wanted to have a pet snake, and also because it is 2025 snake year and I am born in 2013 also the snake year so I decided to create it. The name artwork I created it incorporated 4 symboles the first one is my family because I love my family the second one is a dog because I also love dog and always begged my mom for one but she said no and it is my dream. The third one is an apple because I love to eat fruits and apple is the iconic fruit that everyone loves and everyone will eat. The last one is a potato hero because I think potato can make everything good and I think it changes a lot like me. Everyone can change like whatever they want so I also drew that.
  2. I demonstrated persistence during the project because during the clay one, the snake head kept falling fo, and after thousands of tries, I succeeded. In tile clay, everyone said that mine is ugly, but I think if I believe in myself, then I will succeed no matter what. For the name art, I thought of doing the chubby name style, but I like the other one, and I thought of a lot in my mind, and I tried to do my best. Also, for the name art, when I was trying to do the coloring, I couldn’t think of the colors that matched my artwork, so I got stuck there for a while, but then I thought of trying different things, so I created a unique artwork.

UNIT 1 MATH REFLECTION

U: I understand that proportional relationship is when A proportional relationship is a relationship between two variables where their COP is constant, where the COP is the constant of proportionality. I also understand what the origin of a graph is; the origin is (0,0), where you start at (0,0), and then a line on the graph goes through the graph, then it means the graph is proportional.

N: I learned what ratio, reciprocal, table, proportional relationship, constant of proportionality, variable, equation, graph, axis, and ordered pairs are, and I can define each vocabulary term on this proudly without any mistakes.

I: The most interesting thing in this unit is how to use different methods to find the COP of the graph, table, or description. For example, to find the COP of the table, you use the method y over x so which means you divide y by x to find the COP of the table. Another example is how to find the cop of the graph. You look at the graph and define what the y and x are, and use the same method to find the COP.

T: The trickiest thing I found in this unit is understanding how to write a correct equation for the description, table, or graph is but overall I improved my skills and overcame this trick.

SOCIAL STUDIES UNIT 1: MEDIA PRESENTATION

Derick Wu Gold C2 Media Presentation .MOV

1. One piece of feedback that I incorporated in my work is working on a slogan and creating one that can capture audiences attention. I thought of creating a slogan that can connect to the audiences feeling, so after using raina bot and giving me some advice on creating the slogan I came up with the slogan “When the world feels too heavy, hold this instead.” This can easily connect to the audiences feeling when they have too much stress. Another piece of evidence that I incorporated into my media is add a little more design into my media I added lots of phrases into my instagram post and made it so it can capture audiences feeling with words. For example “Your piece of mind fits right in your pocket this has feeling inside also telling the audience the stress ball which is the product that I’m creating is small so you can carry it wherever you want. Also I got an piece of feedback on creating notecards I didn’t have notecards on the first presentation which is the practice round I used my computer and my partner gave me a feedback on creating note cards so it is more efficient to look at and othe final round I had my note cards in hand and did a good job.

2. I am proud of staying on task for the whole time while I am doing my work on the media that I am creating.

3. I want to keep working on taking more people’s advice and incorporating it into my media.

4. Bias is people leaning towards an specific idea or people, most of the times it is inaccurate.

5. One positive thing when people have the same perspective is there will be no conflict between people because they all agree on one thing.

6. One negative thing that people can have if they have the same perspective is everyone will be the same and not coming up with ideas, they will be like a robot.

UNIT 1 SCIENCE REFLECTION

Collaboration: In the first unit of science, we worked on a lot of collaboration skills, like the water explosion CER. We had to work in a team, and we had to decide who was going to work on which part of the CER and do it. And I can be respectful, resourceful, and responsible while working in a team.

Lab Safety: In this unit, I learned how to keep myself and others safe in a Lab and also stay on task all the time.

Measuring and unit conversion: I learned a lot of new units and how to convert them into different units. I also learned how to measure different things, like in meters or in liters.

Using Lab Equipment: I learned what each equipment is called and how to use it safely.

Making Observations (Qualitative and Quantitative): I reviewed what qualitative and quantitative data are and made observations on things and took qualitative and quantitative notes about those things.

Finding IV, DV, and writing a hypothesis for a lab: I learned and reviewed how to find IV and DV, and I wrote a hypothesis for the lab report that I’m working on, which is the rainbow lab.

Writing a scientific explanation in the form of CER: I wrote a scientific explanation in the form of CER. I reviewed it and learned what is best for the new one.
