Ethical Global Citizen

I want to improve my Ethical Global Citizen goals

I chose to work on, “I can observe and respect the perspectives and other cultures.”

I also chose to work on, “I can take action with sincerity and honesty.”

I will achieve this during the 7th grade world classroom trip, I will be more careful about what I do during the trip and how I talk to people. I will be more careful to not litter, and I will be very respectful to the locals. I will make sure I don’t judge and respect the locals culture as well.

I will also be more respectful to people at campus like say thanks to the staff such as security, lunch ladies, and cleaners. I will also just say Hi to teachers and other staff and try to be more polite when I talk to them even when I disagree.

I will also apply this to social studies because I will be observing other cultures and respecting that. I will also be citing my sources because that is being honest and not stealing without giving credit.

Social Studies Unit 2: Visual Presentation

I chose to make an old car (like a ford model T) and I did it because I think it is fun to make cardboard model because I’ve seen it on youtube (but I think mine is not as good as the ones on youtube…) I chose to do the presentation like this because I just kind of did whatever other people did and it was a model and a background but I didn’t get to finish my background.

I think I did well on my car model and making it look the best that my abilities can make it, but I think my background could have more details and stuff because it is just a black background and it has no words even though I was supposed to.

Social Studies Unit 2 Essay

The first step we had to do to make the essay was just to start finding articles, and annotate them. We put the info into a graphic organiser and then we had many days to start writing the article, one class for each paragraph. If we didn’t meet the standards, then we would just redo it with the feedback given to us and we would get a meeting.

I think one thing I did well was completing everything on time and not having anything that is late or missing. But I think I could improve on using more complicated vocab instead of just using simple transitions, and other basic stuff.

Science Unit 2 Portfolio Reflection

My essential question was, “What happens to our body when you get sick?”

When I learned about all the organelles in the cell, it helped me understand how the cells work when you get sick, I learned about cell cancer and it helped me make sense on why the mitochondria and the nucleus could be mutated. This relates to the Idea on how the body is a system made of subsystems that are also made up of cells, because if the cells are mutated, then the subsystem will not work, which then stops the entire body to not work the way it should.

I think the mini games and the final project helped me learn the best because the kahoots and gimkits are really fun and I enjoyed playing it. I also like the final project because I liked doing things hands on and I could do whatever I wanted and I didn’t have to talk or work with someone I didn’t want to work with.

If I could improve one thing, it would be aiming for an L4, I didn’t do the L4 model because I didn’t have time and it also completely slipped past my mind. I only remembered about the L4 model when I saw a fellow classmate having 2 models. Next time, I would just make sure I don’t forget anything and manage my time better. 👅

DT Unit 2 RC car unit

I think the good part of this is I was able to finish the car and still 3D model a cool looking backplate. The challenge was putting the wheels on the car since it was so impossible. I think the hardest part about this is just finishing the car, I only finished it by the end of the car but It turned out good at the end. (my dog almost ate the car)

DT reflection Clock project

During this unit, I learned how to be more independent, do things by myself and be fast. But a challenge I came across was that it was hard to complete all the tasks that was due. I think the hardest part about this unit was working alone because I had to do everything by myself but it all worked out by the end.

Unit 2 Summary sheet (proportionality and scale drawings)

U: What do you understand in this unit?

I understood how to calculate scale drawings and how to tell if something is a scaled copy or not. I also learned how to calculate the scale factor of something and how to calculate the area scale factor.

N: What new information did you learn in this unit?

I learned how to calculate the scale factor and area scale factor, and I also learned how to tell between a scaled copy and a fake.

I: What was interesting in this unit?

I think learning about scale factor was fun and the area scale factor, but the other things were just kinda math.

T: What was tricky for you in this unit?

I think calculating with big fractions (especially in the summative.) because they become really big once it goes in the calculator.

PE: Swimming Unit Reflection

In pe we had classes of swimming and I got better at all the things we learned because I have never even heard of the skills we were taught. My treading water skills got better and I also learned how to cooperate with other people better from the artistic swimming.

Pe: Soccer unit reflection

During our soccer unit in PE, we just played games the whole time and I think my overall soccer skills improved but I think my goal scoring skills got better since i scored a goal (with converse)

Math Reflection

What do you understand in this unit?

I learned how to find and make proportional relationships and also I learned the tricks on how to spot one quickly.

What new information did you learn in this unit?

I learned how to make proportional relationships, and make all sorts of graphs.

What was interesting in this unit?

I think learning all the new vocabulary was very interesting and learning about proportional relationships was really fun.

What was really tricky for you in this unit?

I think it was the final assessment because i was working with a friend which was to fun to be an assessment.
