1. When people see my artwork I want them to learn about who I am, not only on the inside but also on the outside, my looking at the symbols. My general message about myself to the audience is that I’m a happy person who loves being outside in nature. However, by looking closer and connecting to the symbols based on your own experiences, the artwork gets a deeper meaning. Some people might connect the symbols in the same way as I did, while others might connect them to other things.
2. During the creation of my artwork, i took risks and experimented in order to effectively express my intended message. For example, I realised working on the front of my canvas would make it look weird so I decided to work on the back, even though that meant I had to make a background and cover up the ugly edges, which would take more time. I experimented a lot when deciding on how to make the clouds. First I was thinking of making them in paper, but i realised it would look weird next to the paper coverd edges, markers would have looked a bit boring, so I chose to try working with yarn. It took me a while to decide on how to place the yarn, but eventually, after I had tried some different options, I figured out what to do.
