Strike and field Unit 2

Improvements:

I strike the ball further than I used to and I also got some home-runs. When our team is fielding, I caught a couple of balls straight when the opponent team has batted and I got some of them out.

What I can do better:

I could try to keep my body straight when batting the ball. I can also react faster to catch the ball, I can also work on my eye-hand coordination, strength and throwing and catching.

Healthy food choices unit

In unit 1 health class, we learned some healthy food choices and what micronutrients, vitamins, they contain. According to the Harvard plate, some good, healthy food choices might be, whole-grain bread, eggs, salad(vegetables), protein, such as chicken breast, beef steak, eggs. Whole grain bread contains carbohydrate, energy, and could help boost energy you need for the day, eggs and chicken breasts contain lots of protein, protein can build up our mussels and is also good for bones. Vegetables provide essential vitamins, minerals and fiber, which could support digestive health, boost your immune system, and protect against chronic diseases such as heart decease, strokes and some kinds of cancer.

As seen in the picture above, we did a project about making a healthy menu for special types of people, for example, the person we’re making the menu for is Teresa, she loves eating Chinese food and also needs some exercise, the menu we made her contains lots of protein, vitamins and energy.

In our “Master Chief” project, me and Jachin made hummus with fresh cut vegetables, hummus contains rich sources of vitamins, healthy fat, fiber and multiple kinds of minerals, while the vegetables coming with it contains lots of vitamins, fiber, and helps your digestive system. Some difficulties we face in this project is that we couldn’t make the hummus look delicious enough so not many people came to try it while the successes are we learned to work in a team and we worked collaboratively.

I think my current diet is sustainable because I eat healthy food everyday and rarely eat fast food. For breakfast, I eat 1 egg, fruits, and drink a bottle of milk would be enough. According to the Ethical Global Citizenship, eating ethically, is choosing plant-based foods, support local and organic farms, reducing meat consumption, avoiding ultra-processed foods, and selecting sustainably sourced seafood. I think my diet mostly relates to the Ethical Global Citizenship but sometimes no, for instance, I eat vegetables and fruits everyday, that’s eating ethically, but however, I also eat meat and sometimes processed food too, and that’s not eating ethically.

One nutrition goal that I want to work towards is I want to drink more water instead of sugary drinks, this habit can decrease the sugar level in your body and not turn into body fat. I would not drink sugary drinks, instead I would swich everything I drink into water and low-fat milk.

Table Tennis Reflection

I think my table tennis skills has improved through this unit, I learned how to serve in other ways, how to return the ball to my opponent even tougher to catch than before and finally, we played lots of fun 1-on-1s
