TTG- effective collaborator

I have learned how to be an effective collaborator. I was a little nervous when it came to group work, but team effort is indeed necessary. By far, the most valuable lesson that I learned was that of listening. Every group member had their own set of ideas and perspectives and just by listening, I was better able to grasp their views. This also added value to our discussions and facilitated the decision-making process. I also concentrated on simple messages. My ideas and reasons were enough for others to buy into my ideas, so the atmosphere was open. When everyone is free to speak, the group becomes more lively and innovative. Another essential point was knowing and taking advantages of each person’s strength. By delegating tasks according to our abilities, we were able to accomplish our work more efficiently. I appreciate each team member’s input, so I learned that if people feel they belong to a team, they are more likely to work together. In conclusion, in this case, working together means good communication, respect, and team work. It relieves me to know that I can work with people better and I plan on using these techniques in projects to come.

TTG – skillful communicator

I gained valuable insights into what it means to be an effective communicator. This experience highlighted the importance of clearly expressing ideas and engaging with others in a meaningful way. One significant lesson I learned is the importance of listening. Effective communication goes beyond just speaking; it also involves truly understanding what others are conveying. By actively listening to my teammates’ perspectives, I was able to contribute more significantly to our discussions. It became clear to me that everyone has something important to offer. I also made it a point to organize my thoughts before sharing them. This approach allowed me to present my ideas in a manner that was easy for others to grasp. Clarity is crucial, especially in group projects where it’s essential for everyone to be aligned. Another key element of communication is being receptive to feedback. When my classmates provided suggestions, I learned to value their input rather than becoming defensive. This not only enhanced my work but also fostered a stronger group dynamic. In summary, this experience taught me that effective communication encompasses listening, organizing thoughts, and being open to others’ ideas. I now feel more confident in my communication abilities and am eager to apply them in future projects.

TTG – resilience

I choose the task journaling in the start of the school year, at first, I just wanted to get stuff done, but after I started journaling, I began journaling more often to reflect on my experiences and emotions, and it has really taught me a lot about resilience. Initially, I was uncertain about how writing about my day could be beneficial, but I soon discovered it was a powerful way to process my thoughts. Whenever I encountered challenges, such as struggling with schoolwork or feeling stressed about friendships, I would jot down my feelings in my journal. Writing helped me untangle my emotions and gain a better understanding of what I was experiencing. For instance, after a particularly tough week with assignments piling up, I expressed my frustration on paper. This allowed me to see the situation more clearly and think of possible solutions. Journaling also gave me a way to track my progress. When I revisited earlier entries, I could see how I had navigated obstacles and learned from my mistakes. This served as a reminder that setbacks are only temporary and that I possess the strength to keep moving forward.

TTG – critical thinker

I had the opportunity to play Gomuku when completing the TTG – critical thinker. It is a strategic board game, and it significantly improved my critical thinking skills. Initially, I assumed it would be a straightforward game of placing pieces on a grid, but I soon discovered there was much more depth to it. Playing Gomuku required me to think several moves ahead. I had to evaluate both my own strategy and my opponent’s possible actions. Every time I placed a piece, I considered its impact on the game. Would it lead me to victory, or would it create an opening for my opponent? This experience highlighted the importance of foresight and planning in decision-making. I also learned to identify patterns and predict my opponent’s strategies. By paying attention to their moves, I could pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses. For instance, if they were forming a line of pieces, I needed to block their progress while simultaneously advancing my own strategy. This taught me a lot about the balance between competition and collaboration. Gomuku also emphasized the importance of adaptability. Sometimes my initial plan didn’t pan out, and I had to modify my strategy on the spot. This flexibility kept me engaged and encouraged me to think critically about my options in real time. In summary, playing Gomuku was a fulfilling experience that sharpened my critical thinking skills. It taught me how to analyze situations, foresee outcomes, and adjust my strategies accordingly. I now feel more confident in my ability to tackle challenges thoughtfully, both in games and in everyday life.

TTG – Creative learner

Designing a school T-shirt was a fantastic opportunity for me to tap into my creative side. Initially, I felt a bit lost on how to begin, but I was determined to create something that truly captured our school spirit and united my classmates. I started by brainstorming various ideas and themes, reflecting on what made our school unique. After sketching a few concepts, I decided on a vibrant graphic featuring our school mascot along with a catchy slogan. I aimed for the shirt to be fun and visually appealing, so I experimented with different colors and fonts until I found the ideal mix. The process of creating the T-shirt taught me a great deal about design. I had to think outside the box while also keeping in mind what my classmates would appreciate. Getting feedback from friends was invaluable in refining my ideas, and I discovered that working together can yield even better outcomes. This experience has shown me that being a creative learner involves not just generating ideas but also being receptive to feedback and willing to make changes. I’m really proud of my T-shirt design and look forward to further exploring my creativity in the future.

science project reflection:

We just started the brainstorming process of the science project, it involves critical thinking and collaboration skills, and quite challenging for me with all the new content. we expressed our ideas through drawing it out and presenting a 1 minute mini pitch to our tablemates, we respected each other’s ideas and tried to come up with the best idea that includes all of our idea’s strengths.

Extra-curricular activities:

One of the extra curricular activities that I enjoy and working on right now is BPA, which is Business professionals of america, it helped me with team management, I was the leader of the team and I managed the meetings, and the working timeline. Our brainstorming process was great where we respect each other’s ideas and found the best one to use in this competition. When we created our pitch video it was really stressful but we successfully managed our stress level and filmed our pitch. In the result, we won bronze (top 25%) of china and got the ticket to the national competition.

TTG- effective collaborator

task 6: brainstorm and prioritize (15)

I feel like that the cafeteria can be improved by adding a drink section or other shaped tables for friend groups that have more people since I found out that the friends in big friend groups such as mine (15 people) can’t fit into the long tables that our cafeteria has. Sometimes I need a drink to go with my food but we only have a few choices in our cafeteria, so I think that we can add a few more tastes and kinds of drink.

In What Ways Was I…

I was a skillful communicator and an effective collaborator when I worked on the silent murder mystery with my table group since even if we couldn’t talk, we still collaborated together and figured out the murderer. I worked on resilience as I mindful colored a picture that I found online, by that, I let out some of my stress and I felt a moment of calmness when I was coloring.

I was a skillful communicator and an effective collaborator today when we went outside and played a game where we figured out the order of a bunch of zoomed in cards without showing each other what is on the picture.

I still need to work on being a creative thinker, maybe I will draw a small story out:)

Zoom-in Zoom-in (Task #4, 15 mins)

In today’s lesson we went outside in the sun and enjoyed an activity communicating with each other figuring out the order of the zoomed in pictures. some basic rules of the game is: everyone received a zoomed in picture of another picture, and we were trying to figure out the order without showing each other what it is. To do this, we connected with the TTG collaboration, skillful communicator and resilience, we each described our picture and successfully collaborated to get the right order, and today’s weather is great, going outside is also letting us work on our mindfulness.

First-time in makerspace

This is my first time going to the maker space, everything seems new to me, but I have my friends helping me to create my first project – wood lasering. I kinda struggled with generating an idea about what my project is going to look like, hahaha I decided to make a lemon. inkscape is a new app for me, but the process of discovering what it can do is really fascinating. the TTG I want to discuss about is collaboration, since some of my experienced friends helped me through my struggles and created this wonderful “first-time” in makerspace. 🙂

AI + me in the future

in today’s lesson we’ve looked at examples and prompts to enhance our leanings and collaboration with AI. 🙂

I want to use AI as a learning + brainstorming helper, but always try to understand the content and do most of the work on my own. By doing that I would be able to collaborate with AI better and learn about the world more through AI but also being aware about some of the risks, and when using AI as a helper for work, I would understand the content quickly and finishing up my work with quality. To do that, I would make some actions, including:

  • thinking before using the idea from AI
  • ONLY use AI for brainstorm or minimum help
  • do the rest of the work on my own and don’t give up on researching too.
