Unit 2 reflection on Essay

What will I do differently next time?

Next time, I will add more detail to my sentences so that will make them clearer and a lot easier to understand, especially in Reasoning. For Reasoning, I have to work on not repeating the evidence, instead, I should just restate the claim in simpler words.

What was my least favorite step?

My least favorite step was actually writing all the CERs, because I’ve always thought that they were a little bit annoying to write: citing every single source you use, using specific words to describe where you got all your information, and we had to write multiple paragraphs at once.

What was my favorite step?

My favorite step was citing all of my sources since it was the easiest step of all, I just had to copy and paste everything from the my bib extension on google chrome.

Some evidence and reasoning:

Unit 2 reflection on Visual presentation

Video script (everything is written by me) 🥹👍

What did I enjoy doing? 😄

I enjoyed acting out all the scenes, because I like acting and I could spend time with my friends, and it was fun bossing them around since this was all part of my own project.

What will I do differently next time? 🤔

Next time I will record in different places and finish recording earlier, so I will have more time to edit the video, and even add a green screen. I should also be more aware of time so I don’t have to rush through everything the day before presentations.

What did I not enjoy doing so much? 😑

I didn’t really enjoy editing the final video with all of the Canva slides and with all the small scenes I acted out with Sophie, Eileen, Reika and Mr. Tyner, because Capcut kept on crashing each time I was done with adding everything together, I probably had to redo it at least 6 times, which took more than 4 hours.

Active Learner

I think I would get a 3, because I listen to when others are talking in class and don’t have side conversations with peers sitting next to me, even though I rarely raise my hand. That is probably something I need to work on, since it is an important part of the “active Leaner” grade.

Math Unit 3 Reflection

What are my strengths in this Unit?

I was able to try and do more math work outside of school, even though I should do more and reflect on my learning once in a while.

What do I need to work on?

I need to work on using models such as tape diagrams, and other models, because it is very important to show how you can get to the correct answer.

What did I enjoy the most?

I really enjoyed making my presentation during the end of the unit, because I got to explore something I really loved: pianos. One of them was even from my favorite piano store! (Steinway) I also enjoyed presenting my work even though I could work on explaining all my formulas a little further instead of saying these are my equations and not trying to bore my classmates with numbers.

How am I going to work on my “areas of improvement”?

I will try and do more math work at home, such as khanacademy and IXL. Some chatbots could also help me since they can provide accurate word problems and give me feedback if I get answers wrong.

Unit 2 Summative Reflection

How do you think your summatives compared to your formatives?

For my summatives, I was more focused in class and studied way more for them than for formatives, even though they are both equally as important.

What are you proud of?

I am proud of all the efforts I made to make my work even better that before, which eventually led to my grades being better on the summative.

What were some challenges for you?

Sometimes flint the Ai chat bot is wrong, I have to correct it even though it says my work is correct, it is wrong. It can be tiring, since it is trying to correct me trying to correct it. This is evidence that even ai can try and be better.

How effectively did you use feedback (both from peers and teachers)

I used my peers’ feedback to work on certain parts such as reasoning that I needed to strengthen.

If you could redo the summative assessment, what changes would you make?

I would use all my resources from the start, and not at the very last moment/chance I get, for practicing.

What advice would you give yourself for Unit 3?

Study and work hard even if it’s a formative, try your best. Always.

Set one goal for future work

I would like to finish everything faster, so I could have more time to re-read all my work and make it even better.

CERER Summative:

L4: Creating Standard-Self Expression and Persistence 🎨

How do your final clay piece and name of drawing reflect different aspects of you identify (Who you are)

This clay piece shows how much I like F1 and drinking water because I made it a coaster (bottom part) and a little figurine (the actual car itself). It also shows which team is my favorite by painting it that color, which in this case is Ferrari. (their main color is red so that is why I painted my car red)

How do you demonstrate persistence while creating these two works of art?

In this work of art, I demonstrated persistence by actually completing the car and the checker board, since it was very challenging for me, and I wanted to give up so many times because I don’t really like making things out of clay, and worrying that it might have big cracks when it comes out of the kiln.(it didn’t have many cracks, which made it successful for my first time making something out of clay!)

Planning in sketchbook (for clay and name projects):

“Women power”

The intended message of my artwork is that woman and men are equal, we are all human beings. They should be able to do any job, and get paid the same amount of money if they have the same job. This world is NOT equal, people think men are stronger than women, which is not true. Who are the people who have to go through the emotional and physical of giving birth? Who are the people who cook, take care of you when you are sick, and so much more? We all deserve the same chances, jobs, and opportunities. We are equal, and nobody can ever change that. I used contrasting colors which made my artwork kind of pop out and grab the audience’s attention, and also used symbols like the equal sign inside a circle, which makes the viewers wonder, “What is this artwork about? I would love to know!”.

Soccer Reflection

In this Unit, we learned how to dribble a soccer ball, we learned how to shoot, and most importantly, we learned how to spread out on the field and pass the ball to each other. We also learned a few other techniques about defense, and other positions to help us play successful games with other teammates. Something I should work on is taking the ball from the opposing team, instead of just being defender I could work on being “attacker” on the field. Something I am proud of is being a defender, I blocked the ball multiple times away from the goal.

ELA Unit 2 Formative #2 (CERER – Dystopian Characteristics)

What are you proud of? 👍

I am proud of practicing at home to prepare myself for this assessment, even though I can tell that I need much more practice and reviewing all the lessons on what we have learned in this Unit already.

What were some challenges for you? 😰

One challenge for me while doing this assessment was trying to write reasoning to support my evidence that proves my claim, because I gave some information in the evidence but I didn’t know how to word it out and explain why it is evidence.

If you could re-assess, what changes would you make? 💯

If I re-assessed, then I would go back to my claim to change a few things. I would make it more specific so people that read my paragraph will understand it well enough and not be confused over anything.

What will you do between now and the summative to ensure you meet standard〄

I will do more practices like claim practices, and get more detailed feedback from chatbots or even teachers and peers. I will also go back to previous lessons to see what I need to work on and what resources I could use to help me.

What advice would you give yourself moving forward? ⏩

I would tell myself to go back and review my claim, because sometimes it is not detailed enough or does not support my evidence and reasoning enough. I would also practice ore outside of school, and read some example CERERs so I can see what I was missing, and how I could write my evidence or claim next time.
