Skillful communicator Reflection

For my skillful communicator task, I conducted an interview, which gave me a chance to practice and improve my communication skills. During the interview, I focused on listening actively and asking clear, open-ended questions to encourage detailed responses. This not only helped me gather valuable information but also created a comfortable environment where the interviewee felt heard and understood.

One key takeaway from the interview was the importance of non-verbal communication. I realized how much body language, eye contact, and tone of voice can influence the conversation and the connection between people. By being mindful of these aspects, I was able to engage more effectively and keep the conversation flowing.

Another takeaway was the value of clarity in communication. When I asked questions, I made sure they were concise and easy to understand, which led to more focused and insightful answers. I also learned that being a good communicator isn’t just about speaking well—it’s also about being an attentive listener, showing empathy, and being adaptable to the flow of the conversation.

This experience reinforced the idea that effective communication is a two-way process, where both speaking and listening are equally important. It also highlighted the role of empathy and awareness in building strong, meaningful connections.

Resilience Task Reflection

Two tasks that really stood out to me was the mindfulness walk and vision board task, I focused on activities that helped me develop resilience by improving my mental clarity and visualizing my goals.

During the mindfulness walk, I took time to slow down, focus on my surroundings, and connect with the present moment. This practice helped me reduce stress and regain perspective, allowing me to reset mentally and be more resilient in facing challenges. It reminded me of the importance of taking breaks and practicing self-care, especially when dealing with difficult situations.

Creating the vision board was another powerful exercise in building resilience. By visually laying out my goals and aspirations, I was able to remind myself of the bigger picture and stay motivated during tough times. The process helped me focus on what I could control and keep moving forward despite setbacks.

Together, these activities showed me how mindfulness and clear goal-setting can strengthen resilience. They allowed me to reset mentally, gain clarity, and stay focused on positive outcomes, even when faced with obstacles.

Critical Thinker Reflection

Both Gomoku and performing a card trick challenged my critical thinking in different ways the most out of all the Critical Thinker tasks.

In Gomoku, I had to think ahead, predict my opponent’s moves, and recognize patterns. It wasn’t just about placing pieces, I had to strategize multiple moves in advance while adapting when my plans were blocked. This improved my problem-solving and foresight.

With the card trick, I had to manipulate perception, using misdirection to control what the audience saw. I also had to think on my feet if anything went wrong, quickly adjusting to keep the trick smooth. This strengthened my ability to analyze situations and adapt under pressure.

Both activities enhanced my strategic thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, showing me how critical thinking applies in different contexts.

Effective Collaboration reflection

Through one effective learner task which was the fitness routine, I learned the value of teamwork and mutual encouragement. Working with others helped me stay motivated and push through challenges. I contributed by offering support and constructive feedback while also being open to advice from my peers. One takeaway from this task was communication. Whether it was sharing tips, adjusting exercises, or keeping each other accountable, communication was essential in successfully working together. I also realized that collaboration made the experience more enjoyable and rewarding. After this task, moving forward, I will apply what I learnt to to strengthen my ability to work with others by actively listening, providing encouragement, and fostering a positive team dynamic.

Task 12: Create a viral dance

Reflection: I did this dance with Jasmine. The process of making this dance was extremely fun and creativity demanding. We had to think about what moves would not only be catchy but also easy for people to do. We started by listening to the rhythm of the music and then broke it down and made a few steps. The hardest part was finding a middle ground between moves that look good and moves that are easy to do.

Task 16:Good Morning

Looking back on my creative journey with making a good morning wake up tune, I’ve realized that challenges help me grow. When I got feedback on this project I was proud of, I didn’t get discouraged. Instead, I took it as an opportunity to rethink and improve. It made me focus on what needed work and apply those lessons to my next project. It wasn’t always easy, but it made me more confident and aware of my growth.

I usually feel proud and excited about my creative work, but I also keep a critical eye on it. The pride keeps me motivated, and the self-criticism pushes me to do better. Balancing both helps me improve and get stronger at what I do.

When I hit a creative block, I step back and figure out what’s getting in the way. Whether it’s a skill I need to build or just needing a fresh perspective, I deal with it by asking for feedback, trying something new, or giving myself a break. Every block I push through makes me more adaptable and ready for the next challenge.
