Math E2 Designing a Story Problem

My story is about the Chernobyl Explosion where the radiation level changes over time. I was proud of the story as I tried to follow the real life radiation levels of the Chernobyl Accident. If I could change something I would have added my working out. This project allowed me to better understand piecewise function by letting me create my own puzzle for myself to solve and making sure it makes sense and is actually solvable.

Art L4 Mixed Media Self Portrait

Audience Insight: What key message do you want your audience to understand about you as they view your artwork? How did you communicate this message?

The key message I want my audience to understand is that I see happiness in simple, everyday moments. My artwork is abstract and cartoony to show that happy days don’t have to be perfect or realistic—they just feel fun and full of energy. I communicated this by using bright colors, playful shapes, and exaggerated features. Instead of drawing things exactly how they look in real life, I focused on how they feel, making the artwork more joyful and expressive.

Risk and Experimentation: During the creation of your artwork, how did you take risks and experiment in order to effectively express your intended message?

I took risks by choosing a style that didn’t focus on realism and letting my artwork look messy, bold, and exaggerated on purpose. I experimented with unusual color combinations, free-flowing shapes, and uneven lines to create a cartoon-like feeling. I also tried mixing patterns and layering colors without planning every detail first. These experiments helped me express happiness in a more personal way, because I relied on my emotions instead of trying to make everything look perfect.

Football/Soccer

In PE unit football, we learnt how to dribble, pass and played many football games. I improved on my field vision as in the end, I started passing more to the strikers as a midfielder. I enjoyed the games a lot and did quite well at it.

Water Polo

In water polo, I improved drastically on my stamina, as throughout the whole time, you would need to stay afloat while swimming towards the ball. It was a very fun but tiring unit and I did score a few goals. I also improved on my shooting skills and was able to aim for my target very accurately.

Language Arts Reflection

I picked this because it showed how i spoke a bit too fast compared to the normal speaking speed. I feel like this has a lot to do with confidence since to me, the more nervous i am, the faster i talk, which shows that i should next time be more confident in myself when talking.

Kool Koor Artistic Choices

1. Cultural Influence on Aesthetic Choices

After meeting Kool Koor and learning about his artistic journey, I understood how the graffiti culture of the Bronx in the 1970s and 80s influenced his aesthetic choices. During that time, graffiti was a creative outlet for young artists to express their identity and voice in a tough urban environment. This movement encouraged Kool Koor to be bold, experimental, and free with his designs. His art became energetic and expressive, filled with abstract shapes and vibrant colors that reflected the rhythm of city life. Over time, he developed his own “DNA” patterns—symbols of individuality and movement that connect back to the graffiti roots of self-expression and cultural pride.

2. Environmental Impact on Art Creation

Kool Koor’s transition from street art to studio work changed the way he approached his art. When he painted graffiti on the streets, his work was spontaneous, large-scale, and full of energy, reflecting the fast-paced street environment of the Bronx. In the studio, his art became more controlled and detailed, allowing him to focus on composition and structure. I noticed a similar feeling when I tried his painting style in class—the classroom setting made my work more focused and neat, while imagining painting outdoors made me think of more expressive and dynamic movements. This helped me see how an artist’s environment can shape both the process and the final outcome of their work.

3. Personal Reflection on Aesthetic Development

My own culture and environment will influence the colors, textures, and materials I use in my self-portrait mixed media artwork. Like the graffiti artists of the 1970s and 80s who used their surroundings to tell personal stories, I want my artwork to reflect my identity and experiences. I plan to include patterns or symbols that represent my background and the places that shape who I am. By combining expressive elements with more structured techniques, I hope to create a piece that shows both my individuality and connection to my environment.

PE Water Polo

Water Polo has been a really fun unit, especially since it is a special mix between swimming and handball. I was pretty good at Water Polo and found it really fun.

The most challenging part in Water Polo was the stamina since you could not touch the ground at any time, so sometimes I occasionally hold onto the edge of the pool to regain some stamina.

Semester 1 Science Reflection

My current goal in science is to get a good grade, 3-4, on all assignments, I have been completing all my assignments and doing better and better on my 3/3s to work towards my goal.

I am most proud of my Meteor Model as I did some effort into doing it and I liked the outcome a lot. My biggest challenge so far in Science is staying focused in class since it is sometimes frankly a bit boring.I have demonstrated most qualities of Active Learner and have been doing all my homework and also participating in group activities as well.

Unit 1 Reflection and Goal Setting

During Unit 1, we had a Celebration of Learning to review everything that we have learnt. A few places that I realised I could have improved on was my notations, and reading the question. As I did miss a few things in a few questions. One example would be 5a, where I mistaken that your could use any method to prove congruency.

Throughout this unit, I improved the most at the vocabulary such as SAS, SSS as well as the angles such as supplementary and corresponding. I feel that I still need to work on notations.

My goal for next unit is to carefully read the questions and answer more specifically. Another goal I have is to finish and complete all homework on time.

Unit 1: First Contact

Unit 1 of our language arts class has been a very fun experience. In this unit, we were to teach our alien, who did not know english, english.

I enjoyed playing with the Flint AI alien the most throughout this unit. This was a process where we were to teach the alien the english language from scratch. It was a fun experience as I was able to teach the alien slangs, descriptive language and more, while also exploring the universe of the aliens and it’s origins. My alien was a very curious and easy to teach alien, and that definitely made it easier and more enjoyable to do this activity.

Origin of Alien

In addition to just having fun, I have learnt many elements for the english grammar. Through teaching the alien, I have also taught myself terms like prepositions, determiners and other terms that I did not originally understand or know. This unit was very critical for me to learn to use the parts of speech properly.
