Math Unit 3: Proportionality and Percentages

In math, we learned about percentages and proportionality

im proud of the fact that i cuaght on to perecentegas quickley and while proportiopoprtionalaty took me a while longe ri eventully got the hang of that

i also feel that i could improve on finding the pertengas quicker and perfecting the formula memory

Unit 2 summative language arts

How do you think youre summatives compared to youre formatives

i I didn’t improve as much as I liked, but I’m happy I improved a little bit on the formative assessments; I got 3, 2, 2, 2. On the summatives, I changed that to 3, 2.5, 2.5, 2, which I’m happy about. I could have improved more, and I believe I could get 3, 3, 3, 2.5 with some more practice.

What were you proud of

im proud of my presentationas i didnt talk as fast as i thought i would and i feel like ia slowed ddown a bit that i was proud of

What were some challenges

in the notecards we wrote i was scared they would be to short and i got nervous before the presanation

How effectively did you use feed back both from peers and teachers

In my social studies presantation, i got told that I was swaying back and forth slowly without realizing it so i tried not to do that in this presentation, but i realized that I do it whenever I’m nervous so I think i couledve figured out a strategy for next time

What advice would you give yourself for unit 3

rereading the slides would help a ton

set one goal for future work

i would like if i didnt understand it to see the lesson at home and try to comprehend it

When you were placed in new table groups

i think i was okay with bieng moved if it was away from a friend i wouldnt like it that much but i dont think i arfgued over it

When your table decided who would take retrieve/put away your notebooks/folders

i never really wanted to put the folders away becuase i wanted to at breather or lunch but if asked id be fine with it

When you were asked to turn and talk with a partner

i dont think i struggled with talking in 1 on 1 groups bigger groups but one on one im fine

were asked to contribute to the class discussions and raise your handWhen you worked with your partner on your dystopian story in Unit 2

This is my weakest aspect of the unit as i think the story we made was not clear enough in the unit sense wise

Influencer and commercial analysis formatives

I chose influencers because I found the world of video editing and online influence really interesting. I wanted to challenge myself to see how well I could create content that I would actually enjoy watching. The idea of making a video that both entertains and subtly persuades people to buy a product has always fascinated me, so I decided to explore that field and see if I could pull it off in a creative, engaging way.

I definitely feel like having a choice in this project made it way more fun than when everyone has to do the same thing. When you can pick something you actually like, it’s easier to care and put in effort. Like, for example, if you had to do a project on comics but you don’t even like comics, you’re not gonna enjoy it or learn much. But if you pick something you’re into, like influencers or video editing, you’re actually motivated to learn more because it’s something you care about.

I definitely improved throughout this unit. First off, I got way better at video editing in Canva. I didn’t even know you could edit videos in Canva until I actually tried it, and it was super fun way easier than CapCut. I also got to practice talking more confidently on camera and trying not to fidget, which I still gotta get better at. But what I think I improved the most at is understanding what influencers actually do to sell a product. I learned that connotations play a big part in it — influencers use words with strong meanings to make you want the product, not just tell you to buy it. Before this, I thought they’d just be like, “Buy this now for $9.99!” But now I get that they make it sound natural and exciting, using loaded words that overload you with that feeling of urgency — like you gotta buy it right now.

The part I’m most proud of in my video is the intro because it felt like the most interesting part something I would actually want to watch myself. I think I could’ve done better on the second half, though, where it’s just me talking. I’m also really proud of how I made my note cards. I didn’t write full sentences, just main points and keywords, so I wasn’t constantly reading or staring down at them. It helped me sound more natural and keep eye contact without feeling awkward.

I think the biggest challenge for me was definitely the speaking part. It felt kind of awkward sometimes because I didn’t always know where to look. I’d forget what I was supposed to say, and I’d be trying to look at my audience and my note cards at the same time. I kept debating in my head should I just stand there and try to remember it, or should I look down and risk looking like I’m just reading? The second part of the video was also a challenge because I wanted to make it interesting, but I didn’t really know how to do that while just sitting and talking. Compared to the intro, which was fun and energetic, the second half felt a bit plain almost like it belonged in an office or something.

If I could redo this assignment, the biggest thing I’d change would definitely be the video. I’d want to add more to the first part and maybe even change the topic. At first, I thought we could only choose something related to school, so I kinda limited myself. But if I could do it again, I’d pick something more fun — like movie theaters or Jump 360 — because those topics would be way easier to make interesting. I could use more creative edits and voiceovers to make it feel more naturally fun, like a video I’d actually want to watch.

I’d also change how I used my note cards. Instead of holding them and trying to read while talking, I’d either memorize what I want to say or use sticky notes on the back of my laptop. That way, I could glance at them without it looking obvious. Overall, I’d just make the video more energetic,

The advice I’d give myself for the next unit is to memorize my lines more so I don’t have to rely on note cards. But if I could give one main piece of advice, I’d say this: make sure it’s a video you’d actually want to watch. If I saw my video right now, I’d probably watch the first 30 seconds and then lose interest because it starts off strong but gets less exciting. So next time, I’d make sure the whole thing stays fun and interesting. And if the topic is influencers, I’d pick something I actually like and am passionate about something that feels fun to make and fun to watch.

This unit taught us how to portion food in a healthy way so we can make better eating choices. We learned about how habits are formed, starting from a cue to the actual behavior, and discussed their positive and negative effects—including the downside of unhealthy habits. We also learned how to tell ultra-processed foods apart from healthy ones and understand the impact they have on our health.

Can we used outside of school when we’re older and we want to eat healthier and helps us with healthy lifestyle.

My diet mainly consists of chocolate bread and rice. It’s not the worst, and honestly, it could be worse. I believe I eat a lot of chocolate because my iron levels are quite low, which is also related to my health goals. I enjoy eating foods like broccoli, nuts, and eggs, even though I don’t particularly like any of them. My plan is to include at least one high-iron food every day since I don’t eat many meats as my sister is vegetarian.

Healthy plate! in health

In health class, we used a food journal to track our eating habits and see whether we were eating healthily, as well as to identify areas for improvement based on the patterns observed throughout the week. For me, I noticed that every day I had some type of chocolate, which may mean that I have low fiber, iron, or magnesium, since I only had one source of iron all week that wasn’t chocolate. I think it is probably low iron levels in my diet. To fix this, I think I could eat more red meat, eggs, nuts, and broccoli. Another reason I think I might not have enough ironthat could lead to iron defficiencie is that I am usually very tired, and lately I have larger bags under my eyes and some headaches. Also, I have very sore muscles when I haven’t worked out and feel very noodly. i am definetely mostly eating grains and am lacking purple foods

How did geographical and cultural barriers influence the economy of the Silk Road?

In socail studies, we did a project about the silk road religion

We learned that a long time back, there was a trading route called the Silk Road where different regions traded for other goods

i thiink that the games work and are fun

i think the map was a bit confusing

i now know where the the trading economy came from

The three norms of collaboration are putting ideas on the table, pausing, paying attention to self, and others

I am strongest at putting ideas on the table because I am a creative thinker.I am strongest at putting ideas on the table because i am creative thinker

I need to improve on pausing because I don’t let others talk. i need to improve on puasing becuase i dont let others talk

During the ancient Silk Road activities, the activity I liked the most was trading because it was fun.
