Design Tech – Robotics Unit

During this unit, we were working on robotics, this one being VEX robotics, we had multiple challenges such as wall climbing, sumo wrestling, or racing. We also had to build our on robots with our own modifiers. We also got partners, in this case, I was partnered up with Linda, and we were cooking, we broke the record for racing. But also in some parts we were not good. Overall I am proud of being able to break a record. Overall this was a great unit.

Design Tech – Box Unit

During this unit, we had to make idea for what our box would be, and I was thinking very hard and came onto the final idea of turtles in the ocean. Not only that, but we got a design choice in which I got the option of arts and crafts, and the stained glass style of it. I used the stained glass style to make the ocean with multiple colors and many lines to make it look nice. Something that I was proud of was how much work I put into it, I worked day and night to be able to get all the tape off, and then coloring it. Something I would change would be to make my lines bigger, because I was not paying attention to the measurement when making it on Inkscape so I made it too small, but in the end I finished it and it looked nice.

Swimming reflection – PE

During this unit, I had to do swimming, at first we learnt about the many strokes, which I am decent with, except for head up freestyle. The next part of the unit was water polo, in which I liked a lot. So I tried many different water polo positions, the GK, the attack and such. Overall it was a fun unit, except for the fact that outside it was cold, and water..

Science – Earths place in the universe Unit 1

During this unit, we learned about what made up the universe and what meteoroids, meteors, and meteorites are.

At the end of the unit, we had to make an infographic, but I was not good in making them, luckily enough for me Ms. Neal let me make a presentation and present it instead. I am really proud of putting a bunch of effort into the presentation, adding information, animations and much more, I also presented it really well, without any stutters, and kept eye contact. For improving, I would add even more animations to make my presentation better.

Social studies unit 1 – Inquiry into Intererest

During this unit, we got to pick an event that had a major impact on something. And I chose the world cups impact of brazils economy. During this project we had to research a lot, with different sources and in the end we had to make a poster to answer this inquiry question.

In the end, after researching about everything, I answered it, and I am proud of being able to research so much without collapsing. but I feel like I could have put more quality into it.

Language arts unit 1 final poster

During this unit, we researched about a recent event that happened. And after a few weeks of studying about this topic, using multiple articles and checking off different boxes.

At the end after all of that we had to make a “analog canva” canva is a website to create posters, but since it is analog we had to do it by hand. Something I am really proud of is putting all my effort into this poster, and adding a bunch of information while leaving a lot out to be able to communicate this information. Something I would improve would be the design of my poster, because my handwriting is bad, and I feel like I could have made it look much, much, MUCH better. Overall, this unit was really fun, and I learned a lot from it.

Unit 1 Transformations and Congruence Reflections and Goals

I chose the L4: Unit 1: Transformations Celebration of Learning. Because on one of the questions the teacher told me, that I had the weirdest strategy the teacher had seen, and yet it still worked. So to me, that celebration of learning *cough cough* TEST, *cough cough*, was the best show of my learning.

I chose the, sticker project as an evidence of my learning because, I had to add all the transformations, both rigid and non-rigid transformations. I made a drawing using different geometric shapes, and used my understanding of transformations to create the drawing.

Throughout the unit I improved the most on… all the transformations, and how to explain them and use them using mathematical statements. At the start of the unit, I had little understanding about the transformations, and how to make a mathematical precise statement. But at the end of the unit I 100% understood everything.

I still feel like I need to work on.. is reading the questions carefully, as sometimes I would read it as times 2, but it would be 1/2x and so I would get the question wrong, so next time I will thoroughly go through my questions.

Three of my strengths this year are… Quick learning, Determination, and collaboration (in my opinion of course)

I feel that 3 things I still need to work are, thoroughly going through my questions, and, making sure to double check them and get the right answer, and also using mathematical language always in math class.

In this next unit I want to… Lock in and read my questions thoroughly to make sure I get the right answer. This is important because I want a good grade. Something that could get in the way of my goal could be if i’m tired I won’t remember too. To help me achieve this goal, I will make a habit out of it.

Unit 1: First Contact Reflection

During this unit, we used many tools to help us learn grammar (and teach it) such as a AI, a leaflet, and much more. The main thing this unit was to teach ourselves grammar through understanding each one enough to be able to teach it to a AI bot ourselves.

I learned a lot of things throughout the independent learning time, both because of the AI helping me, and being allowed to move at my own speed and Mr. Fisher (Teacher) helping us out. I learned the parts of speech like, verb, noun, pronoun, adverb, adjective, article, preposition etc.

The alien paragraph shows my learning the best because, I taught all of the parts of speech to the alien, and taught it slang like brain-rot and such, and taught it how to use sentences, and from all that knowledge it made that paragraph, so I think that paragraph shows my learning the best, as I have to understand something to teach it.

PE Unit 1 – Table Tennis reflection

This unit of table tennis, I feel like I understand the basic skills, and I can go beyond, by using curve balls and smashing it when the ball comes, so I feel like I went beyond the basic skills. I can serve the ball well, making it quick and curve. I improved on rallying, and keeping the ball low, and steady, and can clutch up when someone smashes it on me. I am also able to work well in doubles, as my teamwork with my friends is good. Something I still need to improve on, is making sure ALL of my balls stay in the board, and don’t flinch on a smash.

Science Unit 5 Portfolio

During this unit, we had the essential question of “What’s causing Pleasant pond to turn green?” And the answer to that, is algal blooms. We researched the many reasons it could turn green, and in the end it was Algal bloom. During this unit we also learned about the cycles of matter, the water, nitrogen, and oxygen cycles.

Through playing all of the interactive games, it really helped me learn more as since it was fun it was being implemented into my brain, which caused me to remember it better.

If I could do something better, I would add more time to making my ecosystem as our animal died very quick, if I could suggest one thing to the teacher I would suggest to give more building time.
