This is the first time I used the program “THINKLINK ” to help annotate a video of my car moving. I annotated the car’s motion when traveling 1.5 meters.
Creative Learner:
For the apprentice ship task, I presented to my inquiry facilitator a video I made for a cumulating assessment in Chemistry class. The video was on the factors that affected the rate of reaction. The video included lots of cute animations on the rate of reaction, and for the chemicals colliding it was just a simple animated balls colliding. I made the cute animations from keynote. My sister taught me a trick that that putting balls in a position for the first slide, and moving them on the second slide. Then, by applying the feature “Magic Move”, the animations would come to life with the things moving from their position at the start to the end.
Skillful Communicator:
For the presentation task, we needed to do a presentation on a topic that we wanted. This presentation was a cumulating presentation for Chinese class, and we were supposed to present a food that was related to a Chinese holiday. To make the presentation, I did not use a lot of words because I would be too reliant on the words on the presentation, and used more pictures to help me explain my points. I learned that how many words on a presentation doesn’t matter, and what matters is your delivery, the content and the overall design of the presentation.
For the speed debate, I engaged in an interesting debate with another classmate in my Learning Lab Block. Since both of us were in Supercell games, we debated whether Clash Royale or Clash of Clans was better. We debated in front of our Inquiry Facilitator, Ms.Harris. We each had 30 seconds to present our main arguments and our rebuttals, so in total the debate lasted only 2 minuets. My main argument was that Clash of Clans had too many gameplay elements, which made it hard to make each element fun. Meanwhile, Clash Royale is different. Clash Royale is where you could solely focus on the battle, instead of multitasking. This makes it very hard to beat Clash Royale as many players are always training to be the best at their tactics. In the end, we learned that debate is not about winning, but it is about working with your teammates and having fun.

For the apprenticeship task vision board, we were asked to create a vision board that represented our goals, dreams and positive qualities we wanted to develop. We also had to use things that represented us. I started off with my nationalities, my school. Then, I did things that I liked to do. After that, I but video games I liked to play, social media I often used and my identity. Lastly, I put some goals I wanted to aspire to on my vision board. This made me explore myself, and I got to know a bit more about myself through this project. This project also clearly showed my goals, and I will now start to follow them.

Because I was very advanced in my apprenticeship tasks compared to my classmates, I was about to go with a few other students to the Hengshan room. There, the some teachers and counselors told us that they would listen to us and we would give feedback about the school to them. The feedback that we gave to the teachers was we felt that SAS was too competitive. This year, a few students(including me) was able to get into the advanced math course, IM3+. However, many brilliant people who wanted to get in did not. The other students and I gave feedback on the high requirements, and we wanted to add other chances for students to want to change courses. By doing this, we made higher level math courses more accessible to more students, and made the requirements less strict.

One goal I would like to work on for AI is that I want to be less dependent on it. Normally, I use AI for finding sources, coming up with ideas, and also for deepening my understanding of material taught in school. When I use this, I don’t really use my own brain first, and just automatically turn to AI. To make sure I will change, I will look for a few specific behaviors. Firstly, I will think before I use AI. I will think of questions such as “Can I come up with ideas on my own?”, “Can I actually search deeper to find my sources” and also “Are there tools other than AI I could use?”. Then, I will try to figure these out on my own. If I can’t figure it out, I will use AI. To achieve this goal, I will do 3 things: look for inspiration around me, research a little deeper and I might even block AI websites. These goals will overall help me with critical thinking, making me smarter and less dependent on AI.

Today we did a digital citizen skit. Each group presented skits on various digital citizenship topics. It was very fun, and I learn a lot about what to do in various situations. Moreover, I acted very good in the skit, and many people in the Learning Lab class laughed. The skit was about someone wanting an other person to share passwords so another person could catch up on work. The reason why people should not share their passwords is because other people can access your personal information, and you don’t know what they will do with it.
