  1. Taking part in the Otzi Mock Trial, my role was the prosecuting lawyer whereas I did a direct examination on to expert witnesses and helped lead my team to victory
  1. What did I learn? Why should we care about the past?
  1. We should care about the past because it can be resourceful because we can learn about medicines that we do not even know about or uncover things that have been forgotten over thousands of years
  1. What worked well?
  1. I am proud of the following work is being a prosecutor and writing my own questions and presenting in court. I also think I did well speaking loudly and directly to the expert witnesses.
  1. I am proud of the work above because it took lots of time and bravery.
  1. What did not work well?
  1. I found some of this work challenging, because I have never done this before and writing all these questions were hard because it was the first time ever second was speaking Infront of lots of people without messing up and thirdly
  1. I found the work above challenging because it was the first time ever
  1. Personal Relevance

Math Bake sale

What did i do?

we found a recipe online that looked great, then we used a provided conversion sheet to determine both the metric and imperial amounts needed for the recipe. after that we used are knowledge about equivalent ratios and rates to show are work. then we made a bakery name signature item and a ingredient card. after that we found the respective calculations for each ingredient. then we determined the markup and sell price. we also created a canva poster for each part 6 and 7. additionally we sold them for 18 yuan each to make approximately 300.5 yuan profit.

what did i learn?

i learnt how to calculate the unit price of something we did this when we calculated the unit price per gram of each ingredient

what worked?

our advertisement worked because we had teachers try them and they said it was great and they went around telling people.

what did not work?

some people thought it was too expensive so we they walked away. we also did not end up baking together because i did not have enough time but it still worked out

personal relevance

it was really fun i enjoyed it a lot especially the bargaining part so i think i might use those skills in the future.

Soccer

what did i learn

i didnt really learn anything but it was practice for all the things i could improve on.

what helped ?

the drills helped and helped me become a better teamplayer by forcing me to pass more

what am i proud of?

i am proud of winning every round i played with my teamates

what can i improve?

i can improve on my passing with my left foot. and shooting with my left foot.

EGG CAR

what did i do?

i made an egg car that was within the criteria of 16.5 centimeters long and 6.5 centimeters wide that could sustain a car crash.

what did i learn? i learned how newtons 1st and 3 law existed in modern day cars for example newtons first law the law of inertia is the seatbelt the unbalanced force that keeps you from flying out. newtons 3 law force pair is used when the car hits a wall and the wall bounces the car back.

what worked? the crumple zone worked well.

what didn’t work some cars didnt roll well some slid.

personal relevance now i know how seatbelts and airbags both use newtons laws and that we can see his laws everywhere.

Balloon Car

What did i do? I made a balloon car with my partner using a plastic board, a balloon, some metal sticks, and 4 wheels. to see who’s car would go the farthest we had a competition and the people with the best car would win.

What did i learn? I learned all three of Newton’s Laws. Newtons first law is the law of inertia where it states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion unless it’s acted upon by an unbalanced force, so the when i let go of the balloon the unbalanced force is released from the balloon and pushes the car forward newtons second law is F=MA force equals mass plus acceleration whereas this is applied in the balloon car when it takes off because the bigger the balloon car the more weight it has to it so the bigger the mass the more force needed to push it so the bigger cars likely did not do as good. Newton’s third Law states for every force there is an equal and opposite reaction this is presented in the balloon car when the air is released from the balloon its pushing forward and the opposite reaction is the friction thats pushing it backwards.

what worked? The balloon car went a pretty good distance hitting the back wall a few times. i also think i worked pretty well with my partner to create a balloon car thats functional.

What didn’t work? we struggled to maintain the balloon cars structure. because the tape was not very strong and the balloon kept falling of the car halfway through.

Personal Relevance mine is that i understand all the laws now and i can think about the laws when i see an object in motion like if i see a rollercoaster i would know that its falling because of gravity and if it goes slower then slower then i know its friction.

ART

I am proud of my 6 and 7 that i made from only cardboard i painted the 6 and 7 with blue on the inside and a white outline on each so it would look smooth we also made a cardboard box to go with it and sticks that we attached to the 6 and 7 so it could go up and down. we also used hot glue to connect most of the things and we put a back round of a school because thats where it is said most.

Creative Writing Reflection

What are we doing? Writing a Fictional story based on a theme that matters to me

What are we learning? Theme my purpose for writing this story. my message to the reader.

character Development creating believable characters with positive and negative traits.

plot the sequence of events in my story eastern and western approaches to story telling.

setting the world i create in my story

Whats working? i loved writing the beginning of the story because i could relate to it. i got the idea because i could relate to it im proud of my beginning because its a strong beginning that took lots of time to make. my favorite sentence was when the coach said everyone has weaknesses.

Areas for growth. it was challenging to write the end i delt with it by ending smoothly with a phone call with a proud mom. my least favorite is when the mom was being really annoying to Luther

personal relevance im only doing this because i have to and for my grades

Critical Thinking with Indi Robot Cars

i played with Indi robot cars to strengthen my critical thinking skills.

Critical thinking is when people apply logic, reasoning, creativity, and problem solving to your thinking.

what worked i thought critically when the Indi car would not go to the right spot so i would switch out the wrong spot with the right spot.

I struggled to keep the Indi car from going under the table and stoping it when it goes off track

today learning helped me strengthen my critical thinking skills.

Unit 1 Olympic Portfolio Reflection

  1. What did I work on? During this unit, I worked on a unit campaign on a unit presentation on why San Francisco should be the 2028 summer Olympics.
  1. What did I learn? I learnt about the history of the Olympic games we worked on researching on our country using the sass data bases and find evidence about our criterion we also learnt how to be persuasive and use persuasive language to persuade the IOC to host the next summer games in San Francisco. I created a script for the presentation, and I had to practice it against a wall. Why do global sporting events exist? So, it will unite the countries who take part, and it can help the host country earn respect and more tourists. Which can help the country get more recognition.
  1. What worked well? Me memorizing †the scripts and not using notecards.
  1. What did not work well? Me using persuasive language if forgot to use persuasive language
  1. Personal Relevance collaboration and communication because of the years left of middle school and high school there will be more projects like this.

I am proud of these things

Making a power point and presenting it.

That I memorized my script.

Reflection I think I did very well, but I still have some places I can improve in.
