Part 1: Unit 2 Topic A and B Test Reflection (Functions & Statistics)

  1. I chose Question 1 as evidence of my best thinking because I displayed an awsome understanding of what is needed in a scatter plot, and how clear perimitars for the values are very important.
  1. I chose Question 3 as evidence of my best thinking because I displayed a fine use of all the things we learned, and the overal it is great
  1. Throughout Unit 2, I improved the most at the making of graphs and the ability to understand, create and use functions like point slope form and slope intercept form
  1. One skill from this unit that I still need to work on is my calculations. I often get numbers wrong and need careful work and double checking.
  1. The biggest challenge for me on this assessment was the last few questions becuase they really needed me to check my work and sometimes the whole flow of the work was wrong and I got some small mistakes that led to big problems.
  1. One strategy that helped me on this test was that i used more time so that I can assure the ones I know would be right and I also tried a lot of different stratgies in solving the problem which also helped a lot.

Part 2: Goal Reflection & End-of-Semester Check-In

I set the goal on into be more precise in my mathematical language and improve my funtion skills

  1. How well did you work toward this goal? I worked fine towards this goal as I am getting more familiar with the notations of different things.
  1. What helped you make progress toward this goal? Paying attention in class helped a lot as this is how we learn as well.
  1. What got in the way of this goal (if anything)? I think my personal problem of slacking off and not always very active towards pratices and homework after class may have made the progress slower.

B. End-of-Semester Self Reflection

  1. List three strengths you have shown last semester: 1. remembering 2. understanding 3. analyzing
  1. List three areas you still want to improve: 1. carefulness 2. critical thinking 3. motivation

C. New Academic Goal Moving Forward

Complete all parts:

  1. In the next unit I want to be able to finish my work on the first place, also review (fundamental math concepts).
  1. What might get in the way of this goal? I think that games, or other distractions will get in the way. I should set up clear time and organize to avoid that.
  1. What will I do if I get stuck or need help? I will ask the teacher for understanding, or find my parents for better organization

Designing Your Own Math Problem

In this project, me and my partner were ask to make a real life math problem that uses piece wise functions to help us solve the problem. Our problem was based on the game minecraft and the ability to mine and place down blocks. We made it so that the piece wise function would show how fast steve is mining the blocks and how many blocks are left after some amount of time.

I am really proud of how that thought came to me, the concept of adding and subtracting blocks to piece wise functions, also how the project turned out was great. We put a lot of work into it and it felt good to the the graph showing what we wanted it to do.

The hardest part was getting the numbers right. We used 0.5 seconds before one the first try and it was very hard to calculate. Finding all the slope and it’s corresponding point slope form was very difficult.

I would definitley make the chat more diverse and add a lot of other elements, because all it has right now is braking 4 different blocks then resting then placing blocks. They could vary a lot more in sequence and type.

I understood piece wise functions a lot better because after working so much on it, I can see directly what was the relationship between it and the graph and what we wanted it to show.

Health Unit 3 Reflection

In this unit we were talking about how relatonships work and that how we should set boundaries and how might gender roles and sterotyps effect a relationship, and what is a healthy relationship. In this unit, for a project we did a analysis for anykind of media content, like movies and shows.

In the story of la la land, we can clearly see how the miscommunication lead to big problems, and how setting boundaries and repect, also the power dynamics are also important parts of a relationship. Only setting clear boundaries not only what they can’t do but what they can do as well. On the same time, giving consent and realizing that not say no isn’t a yes is also crucial. Gender styreotypes should never be promoted, and we should know how to be nice to another person in a relationship.

PE: Outdoor Invasion Games and Water Polo Units Reflection

In the outdoor invasion games unit, we first practiced a lot of the basics of soccer. Then, we practiced a lot of tacticle moves and where we should move to pass and receive. In this unit, I improved a lot on my skills being able to find emty spots and give nice passes.

In the water polo unit we learned about treading water, the basic dribbling and the tactics and where we should defend and attact. I had some fun while learning a lot about the basic and pratcing swimming.

Health Mental Health Reflection

Mental health hasn’t been one of my biggest concernes before. I used to think that mental health wasn’t really a thing. I believed that therapies and more are useless that these issues are just short, and are often excuses. My thoughts are infulenced a little by mom too, she says that always be positive and thats all you need.

After watching a few videos and presentations, also exploring one in a group, my thinking changed a lot. I started noticing behaviors and signs, from myself, friends and more, and just realized that it might be the start of an mental issue. I can now see in person. Furthermore, from research, I learned that these problems are different from short emotions that might even have the same name, they are long term problems and have sever consequences.

Stories that we learned about that relates to real life and more:

Misconceptions are the biggest issue in talking about mental health issues, and after learning, I will try to be more objective. I would try to support my friends, spread facts about these issues, encourage people to get the right treatment.

Science Semester 1 Active Learner Reflection

As seen from my active learner sheet, my goal(s) is to work on things I haven’t mastered. I should also be more active. I am working on it and is looking it up sometimes.

I think that my ability to communicate with my classmates and to demonstrate my ideas is quite fine.

My biggest challenge in class is that I cannot manage my time well enough, so I end up doing all my stuff on the last day. For example, my project to make a poster, the quality is not the best because it was made on the last few days.

Yes, I always prepare the needed materials for class, participate somewhat actively, collaborate with my classmates, and always have a positive attitude towards assignments. I don’t reflect often, though, and that is what I could improve on.

Math D1 sticker project reflection.

This is my final product of the sticker project. Initially, I was looking for something like the Ender Pearl from Minecraft. I really enjoyed the process of making my own art, but there were a few problems with my work. I forgot to check the checklist, so I ended up with things missing. I hope that I will be more careful with my work in the future

Math D1 reflection and goal setting

I chose the question the first question, and it is about describing the sequence of transformations of a figure to another with mathematical precision. I think that this shows my thinking because of how I am able to actually know how to use any of those transformations, and can provide multiple ways to do so, like a negative dilation.

Another question I would choose is the level 4 optional question number 4, where I had to explain how a triangle that is translated from another one is congruent to it. It provides us with information like the angles and parallel lines, but you are not supposed to just say because it was transformed. I believe that this shows what I learned because I was able to demonstrate how I know how to prove the triangles congruent well(ASA, AAS, SAS, SSS), and that I can use parallel lines and angles to prove things.

Throughout this unit, I improved the most at dilations and things about triangle congruency. I would need some work on my mapping rules, as I always forget them when I should write them. I am good at proving congruency of things, using parallel lines, and also giving out-of-the-box answers. In the next unit, I want to work on my skills to be more organized, to stay on task, especially with things like the sticker project. I would also try to improve on small things that are important, like small marks for line segments, and my ability to explain things.

In this new unit, my goal is to be careful, humble, and do my work nicely and fast. Possible things that will stop me are distractions and more. I should set up clear plans for each day to do things and double-check my work. I can also ask my parent for help if I have problems.

Health C1

First of all, my woop goal is to help me overcome the problem of following my plans, and also to be able to do projects every day and have good quality in it. I believe that the tomato clock and advice is good enough to keep me focused.

There are a few outcomes:

1, I would do a certain amount of work every day.

2, I would start doing all my work by myself.

3, I would not be distracted by other things, such as video games.

Right now, I would constantly, because of video games, slack off and not focus, but now I believe with the help of this application, I can focus more on the task I am on, with proper rest but always doing things on time. My mood is average, but I am sad that I don’t have time to do my own things and get frustrated at some times. As for sleep, sometimes, because I didn’t do my projects on time, it causes me a lot of work on a single day, and I can’t get enough sleep. Sometimes, I just want to do other things, like coding, so I don’t sleep. I do exercise regularly, but I don’t dance a lot. This is what I should be doing every day, and I’m not.

ps I don’t have my screen time on when I tried it so I can give the data of my screen time.

Multimedia Analysis and Review

What my app does is to: First, keep track of what is on your list. If you have a project, you can set the tracker to constant, and it will show up every day, and you can set a due date. That way, you will always be reminded to do your work. Second, it is a soothing podomore time keeper. If you start a session, it will start a soothing music or ticking if you change it, and during that time, you shall focus.

It has a very addictive element, also seen in many productivity apps and all, the streak. It lets you set a goal for today, and if you finish your goal, you can get your streak. There is also a “badge” thing that you can view. If you accomplish something that is new, you can get a badge. I feel very accomplished doing so. I believe that all this

It also has a shielding option, which disables other apps or ones you choose, so that you don’t slack off, but the problem is that it doesn’t detect the webpages, so if I go look at YouTube on the web, it will allow it. Another thing is that it doesn’t block you across devices even if it had the same app and is logged in.

This led to a big problem when I was using it. When I don’t want to start focusing, it won’t really help me that much. I would just look at other things. Only when I start the app, I begin to focus. I think the app needs more notifications like Duolingo, interesting, and make you want to do it.

Still, think that this app is very useful, and the results are very clear. From the app, I can clearly see what I am doing and how much time I am focusing every day. I give you a summary, and it encouraged me to stay on task. From what I noticed, my focus when doing a task improved around 60-70 percent.

All in all, it is great, and I want to continue using it.
