When you were placed in new table groups
I don’t really complain about my table-mates when I move.
When your table decided who would take retrieve/put away your notebooks/folders
When you were asked to turn and talk with a partner
I do always talk, but kind of quietly.
When you were asked to contribute to the class discussions and raise your hand
I don’t really take risks and raise my hand because I might get it wrong.
When you worked with your partner on your dystopian story in Unit 2
It was good also.
When you worked with your partner creating the product branding in Unit 1
I think we did pretty good with Benjamin.
How would you rate yourself as a collaborator?
(Highlight one)
Exceeding / Meeting / Approaching / Beginning
What this means:
Exceeding: I help my group work better (include others, stay positive, solve problems, move us forward).
Meeting: I participate, listen, and do my share most of the time.
Approaching: I try, but I sometimes distract, stay quiet, or need reminders to work well with others.
Beginning: I often struggle to work with others respectfully and need support to collaborate.
How would another student describe your collaboration in class?
Maybe I think an approaching because I rarely raise my hand and answer questions, I am mostly quiet in class. I talk in discussions.
What will you do to improve starting in January?
Maybe try to raise my hand more and answer more questions, in order for me to get a higher grade, and be an active learner.

Discussing (Pitch presentation, CERER, and outline)
How do you think your summatives compare to your formatives?
I think my CERER summative I improved, and I think my errors weren’t that big. So I think I will do better on the Re-take, or maybe not.
What are you proud of?
I am proud of how I did better, at least in the summative. I wish I could get full marks on the re-takes I want to do. (but I didn’t)
What were some challenges for you?
Some challenges for the Presentation were that I was too nervous and I relied on the notecards too much. And for the outline, I think I did understand one of the questions that I got wrong, and I think I was in a rush.
How effectively did you use feedback (both from peers and teachers)
I did communicate with Ms. Devin to see what I have to work on and go overing my formatives and summatives and booking retakes.
If you could redo the summative assessment, what changes would you make?
If I could redo the summative assessments, I would work on the errors the teachers tell me about in my test. For example, in the test, I got a 2.5 on the claim because I wasn’t specific enough about the two opposing forces. I also got a 2 on the conventions because I got 3 or more errors, but I think now I think I can get better with conventions. Finally, for the reasoning, I got a 3, but the only thing I missed for the reasoning part was that I introduced something new, not relating to the claim.
What advice would you give yourself for Unit 3?
Maybe self-reflect after tests so that I can know what to do better next time.
Set one goal for future work
One goal for my future work is that I have to practice more in my presentations so I won’t be that stressed and nervous all the time when presenting to the whole class.

Write a short paragraph explaining what the task was and why you chose to do your presentation in this format.
So for this project, we had multiple choices for the visual presentation, like Minecraft, video, stop-motion, board game, etc. And so I chose airplanes as my topic and Minecraft for my visual presentation. I chose this format because, since Minecraft is a game, it can also be fun to build stuff in the game.
Write one thing that you think you did well
Something that I did well was that I was able to continuously work on the project even though I was sick at home.
Write one thing you think you need to work on for next time
Something that I need to work on is that I have to maybe practice a bit more before my presentation to avoid looking at my speech too often, and if I practice more, I won’t be too nervous.
Write a brief summary of what steps you went through to get to essay.
The first step was to research all about airplanes and their impact on global society through articles found on the internet. We then had a graphic organizer to organize and access all the information. Finally, we would have a few days to work on the essay.
One thing I did well in my essay.
One thing I did well in my essay was that I used my time wisely, managing my time to finish my essay about airplanes and the impact they have on society.
One thing I still need to learn to do.
One thing that I still have to learn is to check my work and also ask the teacher for advice on my information in the essay, what to change, and improve.

How can the DECIDE model be helpful for making difficult decisions- especially those involving peer pressure?
The DECIDE model can be helpful when making difficult decisions because It can tell you what to do and guide you through the situation. (Define the problem, Explore the alternatives, Consider the consequences, Identify your values, Decide and take action, Evaluate your decision.)

(Different Substances/Drugs I learned)
Some drugs like Alcohol, E-cigarettes, Cigarettes, Nicotine Pouches, etc.
Every single Drug/substance is very addictive. For example, the E-cigarettes include a lot of nicotine, which can make them really addictive and make you want to rely on them. Because it can make you happy after you inhale/consume nicotine. Another example is alcohol, which can make you feel dizzy or nauseated. Still, this substance can also be very addictive. But every substance/drug will have a side effect. For example, cigarettes have a lot of side effects, like bad breath, bad lungs, and bad teeth. Another example, like nicotine pouches, can create bad gums.

What are you proud of?
I don’t think I made any improvements. I did try to follow the rubric. I think I did well on the evidence because I had 2 pieces of relevant textual evidence, and I got a 3.
What were some challenges for you?
Some challenges I had when I was taking the formative were that I didn’t quite understand/ remember all these conventional formats, my claim (which is unclear), also my reasoning skills. So I was pretty stuck.
If you could redo the assessment, what changes would you make?
If I were to redo the assessment, I would first practice and review the conventions part more, and also, I would review the parts that I got a 2 on.
What will you do between now and the summative to ensure you meet standards?
I would review all places I missed with a chatbot. (Flint) I would go back to the convention slide on Schoology to review the examples of conventions. I was focused in class when the sub was here, but I just thought that there were too many conventions to remember.
What advice would you give yourself moving forward?
Don’t have any advice.
What did you learn?
We learned about floating, oysters, and sculling. We learned how to collaborate with our teammates to create a routine.
What did you do well?
In my opinion, I did well on our routine with our teammates. Especially Louis did really well on the lift in the routine. A backflip.
What do you have to work on?
I think I have to work on my lift skills because I want to do a flip in the air.
I Used To Think
Some beliefs I had before the unit are that I thought all health influencers are trustworthy. I thought that all influencers were trustworthy. The information from them is all correct. But sometimes I wouldn’t trust a health influencer if they are not that formal? Or doesn’t have a health degree. Before, I would still trust the health influencer by their follower count or views on each video.
Now I think
However, towards the end of the unit, I realized that to determine if a health influencer is trustworthy by use of the CRAAP Test (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose) some new strategies I have learned are that you can’t judge a health influencer by it’s followers/likes, this is because they are might trying to entertain you. Also, if the influencer goes off topic, has very false information, you should never trust the influencer.

Supporting Examples
The presentations people gave today really influenced my thinking about trustworthy and untrustworthy influencers.
