Unit 3 Math Reflection

What do you understand about the topic?

One thing I understood about this unit was how to find the relationships between proportionality and percentages.

What new information do you have?

One new info was that I learned how to find the percent change when there is a percentage discount on something. Another thing I learned was finding a good deal with interests.

What is interesting about the unit?

One thing that surprised me was how the percent change was supposed to change to a decimal. I thought you were supposed to just use the percentage.

What was tricky for you?

One of the hardest things that I was trying to use all the things I learned into a word problem and solve it because it can get complicated when it is in a word problem.

Health Final project

In this unit, we learned about how to stay healthy and avoid the use of drugs and vaping. The decide model can help you solve the different issues that you have. When you have peer pressure it means that you will have pressure from your peer partner and can sometimes get stressful or really anxious. one thing that causes the most addiction is nicotene. Nicotine is what causes the most people to get addicted to vape because it is the substance that is the most addicive especially to younger(under 18).

Unit 2 Math

What do you understand about this topic?

I understood how to determine whether a relationship is proportional.

What new info do you have?

I learned how to determine if 2 shapes are similar by proportional relationships. I also learned how to use proportional relationships with a line graph and determined x and y.

What is interesting about this unit?

What I found interesting in this unit was how there were a lot of formulas for different situations in this unit.

What was tricky for you?

Most of the things were tricky because everything was new to me when I learned this unit.

Unit 2 formative #2

What are you proud of?

Comparing this to the first formative in this unit, I showed a lot better understanding of this unit. I can memorize the characteristics way better.

What were some challenges for you?

One challenge was that I had to find out was that I had to find 2 evidence for my claim, and it was very hard to find the 2nd evidence, so I think that it would be better if I could try to understand the story better, so I can find some more powerful evidence.

If you could redo the assessment, what changes would you make?

If I can redo this assessment, I will try to first spend more time reading the story so I can understand some stuff that I missed. This can also help me find better evidence to support the claim.

What will you do between now and the summative to ensure you meet standards?

Next time, I can study by going over the lessons so I can know what I need to write in the CER. I would go over the rubric behind so I can see if I missed anything important. I can go over the slides that tell you all the characteristics, so I can know the meaning.

What advice would you give yourself moving forward?

Next time, I should spend more time studying for the test so I can get a better understanding. I should have more time to go over the rubric so I can know what I missed so I can add for so I can study when I finish.

Unit 2 formative feflection

What are you proud of?

One thing I am proud of is reading the story and identifying the problems and conflicts. This means that I really learned what it means.

What were some challenges for you?

One challenge I had was trying to remember what windows and mirrors are, and also trying to relate them to the story.

What if you could redo the assessment?

If I could redo the assessment, then I would try to remember what a mirror is and what a window is.

What will you do between now and the next formative?

I will redo this test to see if I remember everything, then try to practice what I don’t remember from the retest.

What advice would you give yourself?

1 advice that I will give myself is to participate in class more so you remember the terms and what they mean.

Unit 2 Infuencer Reflection

About the wellness influencers unit we learned about learning if the influencer is credible or not. We learned how to find if the infulecncer is credible or not. We could try to find check the description of the influencer has anything to do with the claims their video make. If we don’t know we can search up their achivments in life to see if they have anything to do with health. Some videos where very believable and are true but some can feel very credible but not like some YouTubers we saw as a class.

After learning about this unit I figured out that many content creators are not very believable. Also learned that I shouldn’t trust every influencer what makes health claims. I learned how to be a lot more careful about the videos I should trust or not. All of the strategies that I learned was new and I could easily find if an influencer is credible or not. Some red flags could be when the accomplishments are now relatied to the type of content they are making. Another one is where when you see some facts doesn’t make sence like “eating honey can kill you”.

For the last unit we got to choose to make a Canva presentation of a stitch video. A stitch video is a video where you talk about another video to see if it is true or not. My partner and I choose to make a stitch video. We chose to make a video about Dr. Mike. I claims to be a “docter.” So my partner and I chose to make a stitch to see if he is credible or not.

Healthy Foods Uhoices Unit

In this unit, we learned about the healthiest food choices, and for the final project, we had the option to select a healthy snack to distribute. My partner and I chose to offer roasted chickpeas, Greek yogurt with honey, and granola. At the end, we had to give the food to the judges for them to give us a score. The score is graded by the presentation, healthiness, taste, and alignment with the Harvard plate. According to the reserch that I did, it stated that roasted chickpeas are garbanzo beans and they are vegetables.

We also did a project for the 3 day menu. I had to find the healthiest food for the 3 days, and we also had to choose a person to make the menu for. I chose Teresa. She is a soccer player, so she needs a lot of protein and energy. So I gave her a lot of electrolytes to keep her energized.

Unit 1 media formative reflection

Purpose

In the formative test, I scored a 3 (meeting) for the Author’s point of view part and a 2.5 (Approaching +) for the Language usage.

Evidence for purpose

I used words like persuade, connotation, or denotation. These words are key words in the work.

Vocabulary

I explained the words and their connotation. For example, for the word delicious I described the meaning of the word and said the connotation. Delicious’s connotation is full, satisfied, or yummy.

Connection to Audience

I used some words like satisfied and used that word to explain the feeling that the audience will feel.

Balance

I feel the most confident from the Author’s point of view because I got a better grade and felt more comfortable writing the POV part. For the Connotation part, I got a 2.5, so I almost understand the topic, but I didn’t feel understood this part.

Growth

One thing I will try to change is to say the connotation of the word other then the Denotation of the word.

Future Application

Next time in the future I will try to do better at the second part of the work. I will also try to find more key words for the connotation.

Table Tennis Unit Reflection

In this unit, I learned a lot of new things. I learned how to serve differently. I also learned how to play doubles.

Singles: One person serves, and it has to bounce on your own side and the other side, too. After the serve, every time you return the ball, you will need to bounce it on the opponent’s side.

Doubles: You will need to serve diagonally, and one person has to hit the ball once in a rotation.

Serve: you need to bounce the ball on your side and the other side once.
