Art: Mixed Media Self-Portrait

  • Audience Insight: What key message do you want your audience to understand about you as they view your artwork? How did you communicate this message?

The key message i want the audience to understand from my artwork is “The Word Full of Me.” The reason I titled the artwork as “The Ocean Full of ME” is also the reason. I wanted to explain my positiveness with the musics, and my hobbies. I included my hamsters, Viola, basketball, card games, etc.

  • Risk and Experimentation: During the creation of your artwork, how did you take risks and experiment in order to effectively express your intended message?

The risk was there were some black spaces. However, by expressing my inner power of personalities and my hobbies, I make the artwork more full.

L4: Artistic Choices- Kool Koor

1. Cultural Influence on Aesthetic Choices

After meeting Kool Koor and learning about his artistic journey, how do you think his background in the graffiti culture of the Bronx influenced his aesthetic choices in the techniques and styles he demonstrated?

After meeting Kool Koor, I learned about the depth of graffiti culture and the aesthetic choices and techniques styles. In my opinion, my favorite part was drawing in the DNA inside where we painted with big brush strokes.

2. Environmental Impact on Art Creation

Considering Kool Koor’s shift from street art to studio work, how do you think different environments (like the streets versus a classroom) impact an artist’s creative process and choices? In what ways did you feel these environmental influences while trying out his painting style?

I think environments does impact artists a lot. The creative thoughts Kool Koor got was due to his family, friend environments. If there were no environments for him about graffiti, he would’ve not be able to go through the way.

3. Personal Reflection on Aesthetic Development

What aspects of your culture or environment do you think will influence your future artistic choices for your self-portrait mixed media artwork? How can you incorporate elements from your own background into your artwork to express your unique identity?

I think my environment like Korea, Shanghai, my friend’s and my family will make my portrait. I want to express my unique identity by incorporating elements like my life!

Unit 1: Reflection and Goal Setting

I chose the critical thinking question as evidence of my best thinking because I used my critical thinking skills clearly and detailedly throughout explaining the full transformations.

I chose question 8 as evidence of mt best thinking because I wrote the transformations, dilations, reflection and rotation through the whole full paragraph and pointing the center point clearly.

Throughout the unit, I improved the most at explaining the. transformations clearly.

I feel that I still need to work on making it simple.

My three strength this year:
1: Critical Thinking
2: Clearly analyzing
3: Geometry

The next unit, linear equations and relationships, I want also want to improve on equations, proportionality, and graphing skills.

In the next unit, I want to improve on vocabularies and proportionality. This is important because, finding relationships between geometry, numbers, and even social is sometimes hard and confusing.

During the process of reaching the goal, I might get stuck by the word problems since my English skills are not yet very advanced.

When I get stuck, I might need help by the teacher, and I will try very hard to develop my mathatic abilities.

Language Arts Unit 1: First Contact

What did I learn about language, communication, or writing through this unit?
Which piece best shows my growth so far this year?

IN this unit, I learned a lot how communication works between different languages and how important tone, writing skills, and grammar are in making meaning clear. I n ow understandbetter how to teach and explain language to others, which also helped me improve my own understanding. Learning how grammar functions helped me see how language isstructured and how to use it more effectively.

Far this year, I really enjoyedt his unit the most. I had a lot of fun communicating with my alien partner, and I found that teaching is actually one off the best method for me to learn . Wwhile teaching the rules of grammar over and over, I found myself memorizing and understanding how parts of speech work. That showed me how much I’ve gorwn and how much I can learn when I repeatedly use what I know.

Art Museum Reflection:

In what ways can an exhibition influence the ideas, beliefs, and experiences of audience?

The most interacted artwork with my experience was Vincent Van Gogh’s Bedroom. It reminded me that I had a same looking bedroom and same places where the drawings where set on the wall.

My friend interacted with the The White Cat. She said it is because she also has a white cat that sometimes stretch high.

I think the reason of the exhibition was to show interactions between people and the artwork, different perspectives of the history of the Africa, and to show the development of modernity.

I was very engaged in the activities those were drawing the area of the exhibition place. It was a new idea and gave me a new perspective that not only the artworks are the art, the place and area can also be an artwork.

PE: Setting a Smart Goal for Table Tennis

For this semester in table tennis, I will focus on improving my ping pong skills, building strength, and understanding the rules of the game. I will dedicate regular practice sessions to essential techniques such as mastering proper grip, improving serves, enhancing footwork, and refining forehand and backhand strokes. I will incorporate strength training exercises like wrist curls, planks, and leg workouts to boost power, agility, and reaction time. I will spend time studying and practicing the rules, such as scoring, serving regulations, and gameplay strategies, to develop a deeper understanding of the sport. I will balance my schedule with practice matches to apply my skills in real-game situations and track my progress. By combining consistent training with proper rest, hydration, and nutrition, I will achieve my goals by the end of the semester.

ART: L4 Sketchbook Cover

A reflection about your artistic process, artistic intentions for your artwork (connections to your identity, use of design strategies, and/or how you have met the Creating standard), and any other information that feel is important to share about your artwork.

I create a sketchbook cover showing the audience mainly about crime investigation. After I got the idea of stamping my hand, I was very excited about making it. I was expressing my-self by showing one of my favorite part of my-self! I wrote my class and name in the middle 🙂 and I used the contrasts so it could make the audience feel more mysterious and want to see the inside of the book. Next time, I should add more about the other part of me too :))))))) I used painting and markers for my drawing and show more about me as a person.

ART Final Reflection…

Unit: The Artivist

“Your Stronger Than You Think”

By Jane Lee

For this unit, I created a project called “You’re Stronger Than You Think.” My goal was to share an important message with people who feel depressed or frustrated. I noticed that many students and adults are struggling with depression, so I wanted to remind them that no matter what they’re going through, they still have strength inside.

To make this project, I used materials like cardboard, strings, tape, and colors. Except for the earth, I mainly used black and white to represent depression. I hope my project inspires people to believe in their inner strength.

Probability Fair Reflection

  • Explain the game you created. Include a picture of your advertisement.

Our game was turtle toss, we had 8 buckets total. For the probability of winning a small toy an snack is tossing the dice to the middle bucket, winning a medium toy was tossing the dice into the middle bucket, and winning the biggest toy was to toss both dice into the hardest bucket.

winning small toy:40%

snack:30%

medium toy:20%

big toy:10%

  • How did you and your partner(s) work on creating the game? Did any conflicts arise? If so, how did you work through them?

Our game went very well. However on the the partner was not really helping us, so we had a small conflict.

  • What went well during the Probability Fair? What would you change to improve it?

I think we planned the game very well, there were lots of people; so there was a long line for us, so it was a chaos.

  • Compare the experimental probability to the theoretical probability.
    • If you did not keep track of the wins and losses, estimate the experimental probability based on the prizes you gave away.
  • The winning probability is 57% and the losing probability is 43%.
  • someone got our grand prize, the red velvet jelly cat cake, and our prizes were all out with session one, so we needed to buy more for session 2.

L3 Unit 6: Interactions of Matter Portfolios Reflection

My favorite food is Mango Sticky Rice. Mango Sticky Rice contains water and table salt, which are two important and common chemical compounds. Water is a simple molecule made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, chemical formula is H2O. Simple molecules like water are small atoms bonded together. The table salt is an extended structure, they are made up of a lots of repetition pattern of atoms. Table salt is also called sodium chloride, and its chemical formula is NaCl.

Steaming the sticky rice is a physical change because it changes the texture of the rice without changing what it’s made of. When the rice is steamed, it absorbs water from the steam, which makes it soft and sticky. However, the chemical composition of the rice stays the same it’s still the same rice with the same molecules as before. Only the way it looks and feels has changed. Since no new substances are created during steaming, it is considered a physical change.

I would study more for the vocabulary L2 quiz with other methods.

I think it was a wonderful class, but maybe we should make more people experience out food fair!
