Badminton Unit

In this unit, we learned how to do hit shots, drop shot, and others. I also learned how to smash, and we also played with the other class, singles and duo. While, I played duo, my partner and I used our skills which is I go to the front and get the drop shots and my partner go to the back where she hits all the long shots. Next time, I wish we can go into games right away. Because we learned all the basics and the fundamental skills for Badminton. I felt like I improved ALOT in my drop shots and hitting back drop shots. Next time, I wish I can improve on hitting on long shots.

Social Studies Unit 2: Essay Writing

essay

Before we started writing our essay, we first found articles and videos for our evidence and filled out our graphic organizers. The we wrote our paragraphs one by one and then filled our our introduction and conclusion. Then, Ms. Sawyer revised our essay, and we made a few changes to it, and then submitted it.

One thing I can improve on is fully explaining how and why my evidence supports my claim.

One thing I did well on is submitting on time, even when I was absent, I submitted on time and came in at lunch so, I can keep up in class and not send in late work.

Unit 2: Cell and Human Body Reflection

In this unit, I chose choice A, What happens inside our bodies when we get sick? I learned about cells and human body systems by using the 4 stations in class, the model we made for the blind box, and the animal’s dissection. I learned that there are two types of cells, plant cells and animal cells these two cells are different, plant cells are usually inside plants and animals cells are inside humans and animals. To find the difference between the two These 3 lessons helped me answer the essential questions. In this unit, I think the most memorable thing I did in Unit 2 was the dissections, the group work that me and Alice worked on on our cardboard Human body project. I think that the dissection was something new I’ve never tried something like that until 7th grade. And it taught me many things about dissection and responsible skills. Next time, I can improve my CER writing, especially on my reasoning, because I felt like I could have done better on the first try. I also want to work towards the extension (L4) especially on my CER writings because I think if I work harder on the writing, I can try getting an L4.

Social Studies Unit 2: Visual Presentation

Model

My VIDEO PRESENTATION: IMG_0171.MOV

In this unit, we learned about how to write an essay about communication and transportation, and their positive and negatives and we also learned about how to research and find the right source that isn’t fake. I think in this unit, I did well on doing researching and thinking creative and working on my physical model. Next time, I think I can work on my essay, even though at the end I did meet the criteria, but for the first few tries after getting feedback, I think had alot to work on. For example understanding on how to use evidence format right.

Orchestra Reflection

During this semester of Orchestra class, we accomplished many things, for example we did our winter concert with VMM, identify key elements in a piece, how we can play pieces with cool rythm and we also did our chamber music. At our winter concert, we played Boreas, Danse Bachenalle, and Cold Of Winter, and played a big piece with all 6,7,8 and VMM ‘Winter With You’. The most hardest piece, that I think was Danse Bachenalle because there are so many ways to play this piece. We just finished the chamber music, and my partner and I played a puece Good Goodbye by Hwasa ad we arranged this piece, and we also played this piece, and I think for me it was a bit challenging because there was 4 sharps and there was one high note, and I was playing with Viola, and both our instruments have pretty low strings which might make it challenging and cello’s piece was mostly C string and G string. But at the end, we played pretty well at the performance.

DT: RC car.

During this unit, we made race cars, and to make the race car better looking, we made 3d models that fit the car to make pretty. We used Sharp3D so print and make our 3d model. I decided to make a king frog, because frogs don’t get respected alot. During the process, I faced ALOT of challenges, for example, I had to make my model detailed and complicated so, it looked like I worked really hard on it!

DT: Clock design

We made a personal clock design, for a teacher we got assigned. And I got assigned Mrs. Fisher, and because she is a math teacher, I made her a math clock, so every time she looks at the clock, she has to think math brain. Some challenges, I faced while I made this was that assembling the clock, because they were some pieces that didn’t really match my clock.

L4 Soccer Foot dribble

I learned that when we dribble we have to keep control of the ball, and make sure we look at the ball, and also look around us, so we don’t bump others or lose our balls. I am proud that I can control the ball, and I can keep control of the ball and not bump into others while dribbling. Something I can work on is that speed, when I dribble, next time I want to improve my speeding skills when i dribble. And defending the ball while I dribble, so while others try to steal my ball, I can defend while dribbling.

Math unit 2 Reflection: Scale Factor

In this unit we learned about Scale factor and a number that describes how much a shape has been enlarged or reduced. In this unit, a new thing I learned is how a scale factor is a ratio that determines how much a shape or object is enlarged or reduced. And to find it, divide the length of a corresponding side in the new figure by the length of the same side in the original figure. Something interesting I learned in this unit is that scale factor can help us identify how much a shape has been enlarged or reduced. In this unit, one tricky thing I experienced was in the check for understanding quiz, was the word problems.

MATH UNIT 1: REFLECTION

U: I understand that in this unit, that a proportional relationship are the relationships between two variables when there ratios are equivalent. There a equation from which is y=k/x, the k is the constant of proportional. And if the graph starts from the origin then that is a proportional relationship.

N: I learned that proportionality helps check the formulas by comparing the units.

I: Something interesting I learned in this unit, is that to be a proportional relationship, on the graph the graph line should start at the origin which is (0,0).

T: During this unit, I learned that trying to solve these problem right on a word question was a bit tricky for me during this unit.
