Me as a collaborator:

How would you rate yourself as a collaborator?

Exceeding / (MEETING) / Approaching / Beginning

I feel like I’m ok, but I still need to work on being more active and engaging in group projects. In the dystopian story project, me and my partner split the work evenly and we had positive mindsets. Plus I think my table group is great, so yeah.

I think my classmates would agree. (?) In January, I will try to put more ideas on the table and listen more to other ideas.

Social Studies: Visual Presentation

This is my social studies visual presentation in the form of a Minecraft world. In this project, we have to visually present the communication or transportation technology that we chose(mine was the telegraph). I chose this 3d form of presenting my project because it is multi-dimensional, and it can realistically model the creativity and information of my ideas.

One thing I did well was the details and the color matching of my model, but I could improve on writing more information and putting it in the underground library.

 Social Studies Unit 2: Essay

It took a lot of research for the topic of telegraphs, because this invention isn’t in use anymore, so I had to look for ancient sources, like the library of Congress. But at least I found a good article that explains the telegraph well. After the evidence, I wrote the reasonings about the positive and negative impacts + the solution.

One thing I did well in my essay was finding the evidence, because it was so hard and I managed to also annotated a 9 page article. On the other hand, I still need to work on my reasoning, since I don’t think I elaborated enough to allow readers to understand.

Pe reflection: Soccer unit

In this unit, we learned lots about this world famous sport: soccer. I gained lots of experience and got to know different ways to pass the ball. I especially liked the drills as a effective collaborator, because they were fun and collaborative. Although soccer was fun, the actual games were challenging, since usually the guys would take over and I would have a hard time getting to the ball. Maybe next time I should just ask.

Reflection- U2 Summatives

This is my L4 Conflict CER:

This is my story outline:

reflection:

I think my summatives were so much better than my formatives. I almost had little to no preparation for my summative CER, but I studied at lot at home the night before the formative (conflict CER).

I’m proud of my work, because I think it was pretty good (ok), and I actually felt a little frustrated, since I could have gotten a 4 if it weren’t for a wrong comma in my evidence part.

The challenging part was reviewing and preparation for writing the outline of my dystopian story. It requires lots of creativity and thinking of original ideas. I was inspired by the hunger games, and one of my friend’s ideas.

I used feedback effectively for both of the assessments. For the CER, I listened to the teacher’s feedback and worked on my reasoning a lot with the flint bot. As for the conflict, me and my classmates helped inspire each other and made our outlines.

Some changes that I would make is to review more for my pitch, because I did not prepare enough and my pitch because messy and werid.

I would like to keep my work more organized so I can have more time for language arts.

I want to read more in unit 3.

Unit 2 formative #1 (literary elements)

What are you proud of?

I’m proud of getting all the multiple choice questions correct and being able to use the information that we learned in class. We learned lots of stuff, like mirrors and windows, round, flat, dynamic and static characters. Like I can relate to the characters and the setting, etc.

What were some challenges for you?

I had some difficultly identifying the window and writing about it one the second page of the formative. It was hard to find a lot of windows since the main character and I share a lot of commonalities, so our perspectives are mostly the same.

If you could redo the assesment, what changes would you make?

I would read the passage more carefully and try not to panic to I can think properly. I think over-panicked and kinda messed up the window part because at that time I still did not get the meaning of “window” completely.

Unit 2 Science reflection

The question that I chose to answer was about sports. How do our body systems works together to play volleyball. I learned about cells and body systems though my own research and lots of worksheets and quizzes on organelles. It was a difficult process trying to find articles on the collaboration of nervous systems, but I eventually found some info. I learned that cells make up the systems, the nervous system sends signals to the muscular to move and play the sport. This proves that to live, the systems of the organism have to work together.

I remembered the CER sport project the most. This is because it was very engaging and I enjoyed the process of choosing your own topics and being able to be independent. This might be related to me being a active learner because I had to conduct research on my own and chose formats( me actively learning).

I could have added more color and icons to make my trifold even more intrersting. Maybe a more detailed volleyball model, since my last one looked oval-ish. Overall, I think my project was pretty ok.

ELA Unit 2 Formative #2 ( CERER -Dystopian Characteristics

What are you proud of?

I’m proud of improving my reasoning skills and putting ideas into clearer sentences. I used to have mixed up reasoning that just repeat my evidence, but now I know how to explain, instead of repeat my evidence. I followed the rubric better this time compared to the last formative. I had prepared more using the magic school CER bot.

What were some challenges for you

I had trouble figuring out my claim, since I didn’t fully understand the plot of the story. But I tried to make it make sense, but it was hard, because I think I need to gain more vocabulary to be able to express my thoughts. But my evidence and reasoning was ok.

If you could redo the assessment, what changes would you make?

I would practice on my claim beforehand, maybe on a bot, so I can make my claim more strong and clear. I could also maybe read more dystopian books and stories, to gain my understanding on this topic. I could also add one more piece of evidence on my assessment to clarify the reasoning.

L4 Activist piece reflection

hi. This this my Activist piece that I made in Visual Art class.

I chose the format of stickers and the theme is promotes women rights and feminism power. The intended audience is for everyone, but mostly students, because I want younger people to be impacted earlier in life. 2 impactful design strategies that I used in this piece was : minimalism ( simple images tend to be easier to remember) and icons( eye for awareness).

Math Unit 3: Proportionality and Percentages

I liked this unit.

This unit was really my unit, because I liked using what we learned in a final real-life example. For my project I compared tip rates from two different restaurants that sold chocolate chip cookies. But it was challenging to present to the entire class. Next time I could practice my presentation at home a few more times to be more confident and prepared.
