Social Studies Unit 2: Visual Presentation

I did this presentation of the old and new f1 cars, and how they improved, and I chose to do a cardboard model because Im interested to make a model that you can see and feel, and the proccess was really fun.

I think one thing I did well was I modeled how the F1 car changed from 1950s to the 20th century. I made both cars and showed the old one crashing and the new one driving smoothly, to symbolize the changes. I also think I made the cars well with cardboard, and it looks like a real car.

I think I didnt have enough time, so i could improve by painting the background if i had more time. I could also add some more details to make the design higher quality. For the cars, because of time, I couldnt add the wheels on the other side, so if I had more time I could add those as well.

Social Studies Unit 2: Essay

When writing the essay, the first thing we had to do was research about our transportation method, and then annotate the article. After that we had to fill out a graphic organizer about many aspects and in the end turn it into an article.

Something I did well was I think I put in all 3 parts, the pros, cons, and the changes into the article properly, and I explained all the parts detaildly so the audience can understand. I also put some quotes from sources to make my paper more convincing.

Something I need to improve on is resubmitting on time, because I redid the work after the feedback but i forgot to resubmit, so I got a bad grade. I think I can write reminders to resubmit.

Math Unit 3 REFLECTIONNNNNNN

In this unit, I understood a lot of things, for example how to calculate percent change and other formulas. I also learnt a lot of banking stuff such as taxes, interest, and others.

Some new information I learnt was how to calculate percent changes and other percent stuff, and even though I didnt know this at first, after some practice I understood it and ya.

Some things that were interesting were the final project because I got to research on some yummyyummy food, and also learning new information because I can learn new things I didnt know before.

Most of the new things I learnt were hard at first, and I had trouble memorizing the formulas and stuff, but I practiced during class and also used ixl and now I know them.

Science Unit 2 Reflection :)

I chose the essential question: How do our body systems work together when we play our favorite sport? I learnt that when you swim, the muscular system moves thearms and legs for you to move, and the skeletal system provides stucture and pulls the muscles. The  nervous system coordinates muscle movement and timing, and the circulatory system pumps blood to body and the respritory system delivers oxygen to muscles. This relates to the idea that the body is a system of many subsystems because it demonstrates how multiple subsystems and cells or tissues inside of the body work together to preform a task.

I think there are 2 learning experiences which made me learn a lot about the body, the dissection and the edible cell model. The dissection made me understand because I got to see a body part we were learning about in person, and that helps me understand what it actually looks like, and we got to open it and see all the veins and other body parts in them clearly. The edible cell model also REALLy helped me understand cell parts because we had to model it so we had to memorize the cell parts, also it was a really fun way to do it, with a treat of being able to eat the thing after we finshed so I think everyone was really determined to finish and do good work.

I think one point I could work on is submitting asignments on time because for some assignments, I finished them but I forgot to submit them. Also for some assignments I had to redo it and read the instructions carefulyl, because I missed some parts I had to include. I redid them and resubmitted them.

DT RC Car unit

Here in this unit we made a RC car from wood and different things. We got into Onshape and we had to learn how to make stuff, and design a part for out car on Onshape by measuring and checking the things and holes. We then would lasercut or 3d print them. and attach them to our car

DT Clock Unit

In this unit, we were assigned to make a clock for our client based on their needs, and we had to design it first on inkscape, then cut it out using the lasercutter. We had to demonstarte many skills such as inkscape, painting, gluing, and more. Finally after we finish our clock, we bring it to our client and see if they are happy with it.

Math reflection

What do you understand in this unit?

I understood how to calculate scale factors and proportionalitys, and I learnt about constant of proportionalities. I learnt a lot of new things I didnt understand before, and I feel like I know more now.

What new information did you learn in this unit?

I learnt about many formulas and how to calculate proportionalities, find scale factors, and determine scale copies.

What was interesting in this unit?

Some things that were interesting is I learnt many new things, so now I understand a lot more, and I think finding out all the new information in this unit was really interesting.

What was tricky for you in this unit?

Sometimes the calculations were hard, and I think at first when I just started the unit, I didnt really understand scales and stuff like that. Also there was a lot of new vocabulary like COP, Scale, and things that I had to kinda memorize.

Peer Feedback Form👇

1. What are some pieces of feedback that you received and then incorporated into your work?

Some pieces of feedback I received were to use less filler words as in words like “stuff”, “um”, “yeah” etc. I incorporated this feedback into my final project, and I spoke clear, confident sentences instead of using the filler words. Another piece of feedback I received was to read my notecard less, and just do small glances at the notes and keep my focus on the audience. I took this feedback and before the final presentation I tried to memorize some stuff, and then during the presentation I kept my eyes on the audience and didnt glance a lot at my notecards.

2. Explain 1 thing that you are proud of from this unit.

I am proud of my video because I spent a lot of time editing it and trying to make it as good as possible. I tried to make it appealing to the audience by adding fun effects and stuff, and I also added a lot of visual connotation in my video. I feel like the video turned out really well and I am proud of the result.

3. Explain 1 thing that you want to keep working on.

I want to keep working on connotation and its effect on the audience, because I felt like I didnt have ALOT of connotation, or that I could’ve added more. On the first few days I wasnt the best at connotation, but over the times I felt like I improved by explaining the connotation and its affect on the audience so I can persuade them to buy my candy.

4. What is BIAS

So basically “bias” is when there is an opinion, but the opinion is closer or more supporting or towards 1 party then the other. For example if there was a newspaper article on who ate the candy, and Johnny said he didnt eat it while Timmy said Johnny ate it, and the newspaper was more supportive towards Johnny, defending him and explaining why Johnny didnt eat the candy instead of being a fair judge, that is showing bias to Johnny.

1 good thing of people having the same opinion is there are no arguments since people all agree on the same thing, but one bad thing is people might not have their own opinions and ideas, and everyone would just think the same thing, instead of coming up with new ideas and using their creative mind.

Table Tennis Unit Reflection PE

Throughout the course of the table tennis unit, my physical skills improved as a result of the table tennis unit. My gameplay was greatly enhanced by the skills I acquired in grip, stance, serving, etc.

I improved my ability to play table tennis with strategic things and skills, I learned the value of flexibility to play the game better

Socially, participating in matches and playing doubles encouraged classmates to work together and communicate. Despite the difficulties I encountered like missing shots practice and feedback made me improve my skills in table tennis

All things considered, this unit improved my understanding of table tennis and gave me transferable skills that I can use outside of the game.
