Part 1:

Essential Question I choose: What happens inside our bodies when we get sick?\

Questions:

How did what you learn about cells and human body systems help you to answer this essential question?
I researched on multiple websites and finally did an end of unit project to demonstrate our learning. All in all I learned that cells make up tissue which makes up organ which make organ systems that make an organ system, and also that a cell is made up of organelles. How does this relate to the idea that the body is a system of subsystems made up of groups of cells? This relates to the idea that the body is a system of subsystems made up of groups of cells because of how the research shows that systems are made of organs that are made of cells, and that the cell is also a system made of subsystems.

Part 2:

I think the most memorable learning experience is the Dissections since we got to experience first hand the cutting and the microscope making it more etched into my Brain.

2 experiences that helped me understand the body systems and cells best was the edible cell model and the dissections. Why this helped me the most was because I am more of a hands on learner. Which means that I learn better if I am actually doing the thing,

Part 3

If I could improve 1 aspect of your learning in this unit as a whole, it would be CER writing and the reason being in the finale project I had included some parts of the reasoning within the evidence, and I also had limited words in it.

Social Studies Unit 1: Media Presentation

Some feed back that I incorporated into my work was feedback from Mr. Hudders stating that I should include more connotations about how good the drink was, so I did in the video, also Mrs. O’Dwyer asked me to change some of the video content so it would be more entertaining, so that people would want to buy the product.

One thing that I am proud of is that I did this all using editing which I have never done before, another thing is that I am around of learning and using

One thing that I want to continue to work on is better language placement since I could not really get the language to be more persuading.

Bias is a false or unfair statement that gets in the way of fair judgement.

One positive out come of two people having the same perspective is better cohesion and faster decision making.

One negative outcome of people having the same perspective might be that the people might not have chance to think of a new perspective since there are no people correct them since both people think that they are correct.

Science

Collaboration: collaboration will contribute to me since I can work with other people to get the best scores possible on the task.

lab safety: It is important since it will help me get though the school year safely and to not die.

Measuring and Unit Conversions: will contribute to my success in seventh grade because it will get me correct measurements to complete projects to my best ability.

Using Lab Equipment: will contribute to my success in seventh grade because it will get me the right units to complete my project

Making Observations (Qualitative and Quantitative): is important to help me succeed in seventh grade since it will help me observe and figure out what some or the mystery things are.

Finding IV, DV, and writing a Hypothesis for a Lab will help me succeed throughout seventh grade since it will help me get a stable idea of what elements to change and what elements that I should not touch.

Writing a Scientific Explanation in the form of a CER will help me succeed throughout seventh grade since it will provide as a explanation for my work and provide a further explanation for my answer. which will help me organize my answers.

Unit 1 summary sheet

U: we understood proportional relationships and the COP

N: we learned how to use the proportional relation ships and how to calculate then COP

I: what was interesting about this unit is that we got to use graphs

T: I think that the most tricky thing for me was getting the COS

UNIT 5 – How did geographical and cultural barriers influence the economy of the Silk Road? Reflection

What are we doing?

We learned about the Silk Road and Its economy. In the lesson we did multiple simulations a games to help us learn about the Silk Road economy, In the simulation we traded goods for goods that we needed while also trying to trade away diseases.

What are we learning?

We are learning how geographical and cultural barriers influence the economy of the Silk Road we did multiple quizzes and simulations and worksheets and learned the spread of religion also how the cost of goods were effected by geographical barriers.

What’s Working?

The parts that I am proud of is that I mostly got perfect scores for my quizzes except one where I got 11/12 points. Also I think my group in the simulation got a bit of every religion and goods. Also I think that I did pretty well on my worksheets.

What’s not working?

For the simulation I could have gotten more religion cards but I was too focused on goods. The other thing is that in the simulation our group did not collab that well and we had many over lapping goods. Also sometimes we did not check the goods and we got scammed with the disease cards.

The three norms of collaboration are pausing, putting ideas on the table and paying attention to self and others.

I am strongest at putting ideas on the tables because I normally have quite a few ideas to talk about.

I need to improve on pausing because I usually have too much ideas and I talk a lot.

During the Ancient Silk Road Economy Unit, the learning activity I liked the most was the trading simulation because we actually got to interact with others and trade.

Health

We were doing a assignment about puberty where we did a Blooket about it, we worked in groups of 3 and 2, we also did a movie about Ai manufactured appearance and we just started doing online safety.

We were learning about puberty and Ai appearance now I am learning about Online safety, in the puberty section we learned about hormones and how you change, also we learned about mood swings and the period. In the AI period we learned about how the AI manufactured appearance can affect how we think about ourselves, and we just started the online safety unit and we learned about online foot prints and that you should be careful about what your post.

What’s working is that I kept up with the puberty period because I came to SAS smack bang in the middle of the school year, so they were already on the final project.

I think that everything is working quite well right now and that I’m keeping up now so maybe what’s not working well is that I joined late so that I needed to keep up.

I think that maybe Health helps us prep for puberty and what to expect at that period and to help us understand that we should not rely on AI.

Social studies how and why has democracy changed over time reflection.

We learned about the African Americans and how they were suffering. We learned about how the 4th article and the 13th amendment protected people from slavery. We later also learned how well the amendment/article was protecting the rights.

we learned about our article/amendment in class. We also leaned about the photos in the hallways for Brian break, we also learned about Vietnam war and women suffrage in song forms. We also learned about the UN and human trafficking.

I think I am proud of finishing reading all the things in the pink booklet. Also I am proud of finishing all my quetions in the small white booklet, third I also finished 6 sides of notecards. Also as a bonus I finished all the things we had to watch on brianpop and the our world data.

I think everything is going pretty well but I am nervous of the oral assessment and also finishing the white booklet took time.

I think this helps me know my right and not getting tricked into involuntary servitude.

Social Studies: UN Human Rights Unit

We did the UN Human rights and US amendment project where we researched about a article and a matching amendment, we used BrainPop a lot and also we listened to songs related to the articles and the Vietnam war, then we got a booklet and read the texts, then we answered questions on a white booklet.

We learned what the UN was a its articles then we learned about the US constitution and its amendments and then we learned about our chosen article and amendment using resources such as google history.com and BrainPop.

What’s working is that I finished the white booklet and that I finished all the provided stuff. Also I watched all the videos. Third, I read the pink booklet and learned about the stuff on it.

I think what’s not working is that I forgot to bring the white booklet on the pre-assessment day.

I think the unit helps us learn of our rights, and that what the rights let us do. Because if the police comes to search your house you can go”I know my rights”.

Orchestra

Rate yourself from 1 to 10:

5 because I just came to this school and I still haven’t a-tuned to this orchestra because In my old orchestra it was a CCA( co curricular activities ) so it was just practicing, but now in SAS its a class, also in my old school it was just a giant big group, but now we have chamber music where we split into small groups to do work.

My strengths as a musician is that I can play dynamics pretty well and that I can play 5 positions.

I recently learned the 5th position of the violin and I think that was what I learned during the period as a musician.

I usually practice for 30 mins per day and 1 hour 30 mins if the tutor comes, I practice suzuki and then I pay the songs that my tutor gives me and then the orchestra songs.
