I this unit we learn about serving, overheads, forehand, and backhand. For serving we learned specific types of serving. We learned forehand and backhand serves. In that category we learned how to serve short and far. For backhand we took the racket on the left side slightly went back and then hit the ball. To control how far we hit we just took the racket back farther and shorter. For forehand we did the same thing just on our right side. We also learned how to hit the ball far when we are far back with an overhead.

The main purpose of this project was to understand the key features of an unhealthy relationship and a healthy relationship. The primary conclusions for this project are that this relationship is unhealthy because john legend is too controlling and there are no boundaries. Some healthy parts of this relationship could be that there is acceptance of imperfections and they both consent to the relationship.
Maintaining individual identity is important because you should keep your own goals, values, and interests. The balance of independence supports personal growth. Communication is essential because good communication build trust and helps people understand each other. It can also prevent misunderstanding and conflicts. Respecting boundaries is also important because ensure that both people feel safe and respected. Making sure to respect boundaries can crate space for individuality and strengthen the relationship.
Another thing that I learned this unit was the difference between sexual harassment and flirting. Flirting is something that is wanted, feels good, is mutual and shared, feels equal to both people. Sexual harassment is not wanted, feels uncomfortable, is offensive, and one sided.

As shown in this image we also learned about gender norms and expectations. Some general gender norms for boys are that they have to be strong and aggressive. They are also supposed to be dominant and risk taking while girls are expected to care about beauty, diet, and pleasing people.

I chose this artifact because it shows how I can improve next time. As you can see on this image I spoke 3 times and the average was 4, so next time I could be more confident and answer a simple question from someone else, or expand on what someone said. The second one shows that I poke for 37 seconds and the average was 55 seconds, so I could get that time to 55 seconds by expanding on what someone said, or answer a simple question.
In this unit, we focused on learning the fundamentals of soccer, and I was able to develop several important skills. I practiced shooting, which taught me how to strike the ball with both accuracy and power, using different techniques depending on the situation. I also worked on dribbling, learning how to control the ball with small touches while moving, which helped me change direction quickly and protect the ball from defenders. Another key skill I improved was passing, where I focused on timing and accuracy to connect with teammates and keep the game flowing. Beyond the physical skills, I discovered the importance of communication on the field. By calling for the ball, signaling my movements, and encouraging teammates, I learned how teamwork makes our play more organized and effective. Overall, this unit showed me that soccer is not only about technical ability but also about strategy and collaboration, and practicing these skills made me more confident and effective as a player.
I used to not know anything about negative bias. Now I know that humans generally think negatively about things without viewing the positive parts. I learned what stigma is. I also learned that stigma affects people getting help with their mental health conditions. I also learned that there are multiple common symptoms for addiction which include lack of control, increased tolerance, inability to stop, intense focus on the substance or activity, withdrawal, and personal problems and health issues. I also learned that there are three common symptoms that are related to addiction. The three most common symptoms about addiction are environment, genetics, and social.

I used to think that all high schools allow phones, but I learned that phones are banned in multiple high schools in the US. I used to think that you write thought models in a different order. I learned about thought models where you start with a thought the you write down some feelings that you have about that topic. Then you think of some actions that you can take to prevent that topic. After that you think of results that will happen because you actions. At the end you write down your beliefs about that topic.

We learned about how tech designers design their apps to make them more addictive. We also learned which apps are more harmful and which apps are less harmful. We chose one app and used it for 7 days and then we analyzed the progress that we made on the topic that we chose.
1. I chose describe with mathematical precision a sequence of transformations that will map the pro image onto the image as evidence of my best thinking because i used the correct transformations.
2. I chose determine whether triangle XYZ is congruent to triangle ZWY could be proven congruent. include evidence and reasoning as evidence of my best thinking because I had the best explanation.
3. Throughout this unit, I improved the most at proving a triangle can be proven congruent.
4. I feel that I still need to work on vocabulary.
5. List three of your strengths so far this year. I ask questions, I work well in groups, and i am focused in class
6. List three things you want to improve on in the next unit. Improve note-taking skills, improve hand writing, use flashcards for vocabulary.
7. Create an academic goal by completing the sentences and answering the questions.
In the next unit, I want to improve my hand writing.
What might get in the way of this goal? I forget
What can I do if I get stuck or need help? I ask for help
My Woop goal is to improve emotional resilience after recognizing that I needed better tools and techniques for managing my emotional responses in challenging situations.
App design
“SuperBetter uses a streamlined design approach that channels users through the Discover section to Squad Play, creating a focused and clear user experience. The app features a vibrant, colorful design that creates an engaging visual experience and supports its gamified approach. While the initial navigation required some exploration, Squad Play stood out as particularly user-friendly with intuitive design that made it easy to understand and engage with. The colorful, game-like design elements help make wellness activities feel more approachable and less intimidating, potentially increasing user motivation to engage with resilience-building exercises.”
functionality
“SuperBetter operates through a gamified system where users complete daily resilience-building activities to earn points across four categories: emotional, mental, social, and physical. The app’s core functionality revolves around its quest structure, which presents users with specific, actionable tasks such as practicing mindfulness breathing exercises or engaging in social connections through sharing personal experiences. Each completed activity rewards users with 2-4 points distributed among relevant resilience categories, creating a systematic approach to building overall wellness. The scoring system provides immediate feedback and tracks cumulative progress, allowing users to see their resilience development over time. Through consistent daily engagement over 8 days, the functionality enabled me to build my total resilience score from 0 to 234 points, demonstrating the app’s capacity to quantify and track personal growth in measurable ways.”
Usefulness
“SuperBetter proved highly useful for achieving my WOOP goal of improving emotional resilience. The app’s activities were well-matched to my needs, particularly the breathing and mindfulness exercises which helped me feel more calm in daily situations. The measurable progress from 0 to 234 total resilience points over 8 days demonstrated clear improvement, with emotional resilience activities contributing 35% of my total score – the largest portion among all four categories. This data directly supports my hypothesis that the app would help improve my emotional handling, as I was able to consistently engage with targeted activities that addressed my specific goal. The combination of practical exercises and quantifiable feedback created a useful framework for developing better emotional resilience skills.”

This unit we leaned about parts of speech, sentence types, and shades of meaning by getting an AI bot acting as an alien that we were supposed to teach how to speech english. Parts of speech are the different kinds of words we use to make sentences. Nouns name people, places, or things, and verbs show action or being. Adjectives describe nouns, and adverbs describe verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. Pronouns take the place of nouns so we don’t repeat them. Prepositions show how things are connected, like “under” or “beside.” Conjunctions link words or ideas together, like “and” or “but.” Interjections are quick words that show emotion, like “wow!” or “ouch!” All these parts work together to help us talk and write clearly. We learned about three sentence types simple, compound, and complex. A simple sentence has one independent sentence. A compound sentence has two independent sentences joined by a conjunction. A complex sentence has one dependent and one independent sentence. The last thing we learned about is shades of meaning. Shades of meaning is when there are the small differences between words that seem similar. For example, words like “mad,” “angry,” and “furious” all show someone is upset, but “furious” is way stronger than “mad.” Even though the words mean close to the same thing, they can feel different depending on how strong or emotional they are. Knowing these differences helps us choose better words when we write or speak.

By learning about the teen brain and how it works helped my change my behavior. For example if I would be in a stressful scenario now I would notice that my amygdala got triggered. Then I would start box breathing and calm down. This can help me handle certain scenarios better. Before this unit I would have not noticed that my amygdala triggered FFF, so I would not have done box breathing. So without box breathing I would not have been calm, so I would not have handled some situations the wrong way.

The most surprising thing I learned this unit was that the prefrontal cortex is fully developed at 25. I thought My brain would be fully developed at 18.
Leaning about the teen brain could improve communication between teens and adults by helping teens understand how their brain works and how it compares to the adult brain. This information could be helpful in certain situations because then the teen would trust the adult more because they know that they sometimes make bad decisions because their prefrontal cortex is not fully developed.

Some strategies that could help me with stress management could be organizing, good sleeping habits, listening to music, and breathing. You could organize your things 1 time every week. You can just regularly listen to music and breath when you feel like your getting stressed. And get enough sleep every night.
Some other things we learned are about how some peoples reward system wants things directly. Some other peoples reward system can wait a little bit longer and then get something better.
At the start of this unit my serve was very bad. And in the unit we learned how to hit a proper serve. I leaned how to hit backspin and topspin serve. I also learned how to control where I hit my serve. I also improved how to play against other students. Another thing I learned wass how to use a new grip. And I improved my forehand topspin.
