TTG Goal and Progress

I want to improve my Critical thinker skills.

My Goal: I want too have a better reach both these subject in understanding them and incorporating ideas to help me so.

Subject ] What I’ll Do
Math ] I can incorporate new ideas to deepen my understanding in math and help me understand it better.
Science ] I can evaluate evidence and sources to support arguments and conclusion to help me succeed better in science CERER.

Vision Board/SMART Goals Reflection

Question 1: Goal progress, have you made any progress towards achieving your goals?

I have made very medium to little progress which is good because a math unit would take weeks for me to get semi-good at.

Question 2: What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your goals?

I have encountered a normal basis of difficulty in math.

Question 3: Have you gained any new insights or perspectives since creating your vision board?

i have gained the perspective that a lot of these goals are very long term which means i will probably reach most of these when i’m way older.

Question 4: What accomplishments are you proud of since creating your vision board.

Since most of these goals are long term (especially moving to denmark and becoming a professor in geography) i haven’t really accomplished anything from the vision board.

Question 5: Do you feel the need to revise any goals on your vision board?

Currently i don’t think i need to change any goals.

Question 6: Reflect on the support you’ve received from others in pursuing your goal.

i’d like to thank my family for supporting my passion for moving and my obsession for denmark, And Michael Palin a Actor and comedian who quoted: “Geography is the subject which holds the key to our future” somewhat kept my passion going.

Question 7: Based on your reflection, what are your next steps towards achieving goals on your vision board?

Most of the current steps on my vision board will not mainly have next steps until later on. But the math one would probably be just do my best in it for the next grades up.

L4 Badminton reflection

In badminton we learned serves, shots, and the formation.

Serves

Low serve: At contact, the shuttle must be below the waist. Both feet should be stationary on the ground until you contact the shuttle.

High Serve: a powerful, deep serve aimed at the back of the opponent’s court, shoot the shuttle up high for the effect

Flick serve: a deceptive underhand serve using a backhand grip, where you mimic a short serve but flick the shuttle with a quick wrist and finger action to send it high

Drive Serve:  a fast, flat, low serve, often used in doubles, that aims to surprise opponents by quickly sending the shuttle low and deep

Shots

Clear shot:  sends the shuttlecock high and deep to the opponent’s baseline

Drop: a delicate, short shot hit from the back of the court that just clears the net

Drive: a fast, flat, powerful, mid-court shot that travels horizontally across the net

Smash: a powerful, attacking overhead shot hit steeply downwards to win the point

What i improved: I think i improved on my shot quality, and form

I could improve on my coordination.

Unit 2: Transportation and Communication Portfolio Reflection

Full Steps of Model

After making the essay we were told to make of a model of the transportation. We could use any material or type of art style. I used cardboard tubes. The first step of making the train was forming three cardboard tubes together like this ⬇️

after that i construction paper around it and stared adding the common Japanese bullet train design on consisting of a blue line at the bottom, windows, and door outlines. After creating two cars i worked on the front of the train. For the classic long bird like nose i flattened a toilet paper roll and glued it to the front. After that i put a rectangular paper shape on the front to give it a more smoother look and i finished. the finial product in my opinion could’ve done better but it was pretty good. Unit 2: Transportation and Communication Portfolio Reflection

Full steps of Essay

The first thing we did was learn about the evolution of transportation starting from the creation of the wheel to cars. After that we got asked the question “If you were to research, write, and present on a mode of communication technology: What would you choose?  Why would you choose it?” I wrote down the Japanese bullet train. Our next step was researching the transportation and putting it on a graphic organizer. After that we started to write our essay with our research. The format of the essay was CERERERER (claim, evidence, reasoning). We had to show two positive and negatives of the transportation and reason why it had a impact on society. After we wrote the main format we wrote a introduction and a conclusion. (i couldnt get the essay picture on here so here is the full essay copied)

How does technology have an impact on society?

Essay:

In the cold morning of October 1, 1964, where the leaves are at the brink of turning orange. a blue and white train slid effortlessly across the tracks of the urban area of Tokyo Japan. The bullet train was first introduced during the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games and has since revolutionized the transpiration of railways.

The Bullet train had an impact on Japanese society by improving travel convenience, and lowering time spent traveling. Evidence that shows the convince of the bullet train can be seen from the Article “How Japan’s Shinkansen Bullet trains changed the world of rail travel Forever” “in 1889, the journey time from Tokyo to Osaka was 16 and a half hours by train. By 1965 it was just three hours and 10 minutes by Shinkansen” (Jones, 2024).” The connivence helped by making the bullet train help people get to homes faster and comfortably which made it become a nationwide used transpiration system  “The fastest HSR lies in Japan can reduce travel times by 76.15% when compared to standard rail lines (Crouse, 2020)”  The time reduction shows how this was a massive upgrade compared to the standard rail lines, this improved things like traveling to point a to point b in a very short time which made it very helpful and popular to the population.

The negative impacts of the bullet train, include the sound and the Safety. The sound of the bullet train is on the article “How Japan’s Shinkansen Bullet trains changed the world of rail travel forever” Ben Jones, CNN: “Trains entering tunnels and forcing compression waves out of the other end at supersonic speeds, this was a problem in densely populated (Jones, 2024)”  The sonic booms made from the trains made it a drastic negative impact and it made a very clear and popular effect on the bullet train and the Japanese society. “139Japan’s Shinkansen Railway” by Ashley Crouse: “one form is Cause of collision with trains at intersections with roads (Crouse 2020)” The fear of trains colliding with cars made the population think of it as a negative effect for the safety of Japan and their population.

The government and the creators of the bullet train worked on the sound and the safety of the bullet train. The Sound, which was a huge complaint from denser populations, was fixed by adding a long nose at the front of the train. This helped to make the population, and cities experience less noise. Safety, which was fixed by adding a function to the ATC, helped with improving the less likelihood of collision with trains and cars, The trust of the population of this improved.

In conclusion, the bullet train was simply known as the transpiration that revolutionized the rail travel in Japan and around the world, spreading to countries like China, France, Germany, South Korea and so many more. The impacts of the bullet train were the convenience and Time traveled which played a massive role in becoming the Japanese and the world’s greatest way of rail transpiration.

Science Unit 2: Cell and Body System Portfolios Reflection

For the cell and body system unit. We had to dissect things like frogs and pig hearts. We created a VR experience on a system we chose (i and a partner did the immune system). We studied what was in a animal/plant cell like the nucleus or the cytoplasm. And we created these models of a cell and put them into a blind box ( like the ones at pop mart) and we presented them. The two experiences that helped me learn more about the body systems and cells were the VR experience and the cell blind box. The VR experience helped me because i got to learn a lot about the immune system and other systems when we tried out other peoples experiences. The model helped me understand the cell and the parts in the cells. when we made the model and other models.

Design tech unit 2: RC cars

For unit two we had to make these RC cars from a bag. We had to screw it in do wire it and had to add a roof to the top. the roof had to be a design that we made on this site called onCade were its a 3d website to sculpt things. I learned that it can be time communing, and it can be hard to assemble and that RC cars are not that easy to make…

Design tech unit 1 the clock

For the clock we were assigned clients to make clock designs for. We had to lazzer cut, make a design to the clients liking, stray paint, glue and much more. I learned that even if you don’t agree to the design you must do it. and make that design at your full skill.

football reflection

what did you learn: i learned that you need a lot of communication

What helped: my past experience with playing football

what was something that you were proud of: making great assists

what is something you can work on: my movement coordination

L4 swimming reflection

we learned how to do artistic swimming and different moves. The first move we learned was a oyster were we folded into a v and that let us sink. The next one was flips were you to a flip motion in the water. We collaborated with three other people (my team was three total) and we had to create a 1min show with different moves in sync and timed somewhat decently 👍
