My story was modeled after a true story that was panicking for my team on a robotics competition. I am most proud of my story on the creativity. Maybe it is not like fill of imagination, but it is most real and it perfectly aligns with the criteria. The most hardest part of creating my piecewise function was thinking of a story. Any story could technically work, but I wanted to have a special and original story that will still fit the criteria. If i could revise this project in the future, I would revise my story. It still feels not as creative, and not appealing. I would take more time into creating the story since the most important part of a story problem is the story. This project helped me understand piecewise function because this explored and help me practice multiple step graphs, which is exactly what piecewise function is.
In this unit we learned about identifying healthy and unhealthy relationship, and setting boundaries, along with the conflicts caused by gender stereotype built up from childhood and education took. By revealing unhealthy relationship in barbie, we understand self-acceptance, identity, independence, dependency, control, imbalance, power hierarchy, suppression.
From this unit, I can recognize signs of manipulation, control, or abuse. Which helps me create a better relationship, whether that means setting boundaries, seeking support, or leaving the relationship altogether. In life, recognizing unhealthy dynamics makes it easier to support friends or family who might be stuck in them.
In our presentation, we also listed the examples in movie that compares the movie elements and real life suppression. We also recognized betrayal. Ways to prevent betrayal is mutual respect and trust. We believe partners should maintain their own identities.
Outdoor invasion games, we focused on baseball and soccer. While, during swimming unit, we were working on Water Polo skills and basic tricks.
One thing I did well in the outdoor invasion games was I tried my best, and gave my best effort. Soccer was always my weakness all time, it was difficult to enjoy the sport. But even though, I still tried my best to participate. For swimming unit, it was mainly working on skills in water polo, since I had great form in swimming, but have not touched in the section of water polo.
I will work on my scoring and leadership skills in invasion games. Leading the team could be a way to winning. For water polo, I think leadership is even more important.
During this unit, our class made revisions on how to edit a narrative writing by making incisions on sentence rhythm, powerful vers, sensory details, sentence emphasis, and condense language. With s socratic seminar, we had to express thoughts, paraphrase what other said, and ask permission before speaking,
I chose this artifact because I think it showed that I was paying close attention to the conversations, and the amount of times people spoke for. To balance out the times spoken by each person, I would join the conversation to allow the conversation going, and also keeping the discussion balanced in speaking frequency. This shows that I can listen to others, not take chance from people who needs to speak more, and always paying attention to classmates.
This artifact shows the check for understanding project of transformations of shape.
In this unit, we learned about transformations of a shape, including dilation, translate, rotate, and reflect. Along with identifying different angle relationship and calculation. Also included identifying congruency of a shape with the rules of SAS, AAS, ASA, SSS and AAA (A is angle, S is side).
I think I did really well on understanding concepts, because this unit is all about learning new concepts while the new unit we are working on right now is mainly on calculations. I can grasp onto the concepts really quick and practice them.
I need to work on my explanation, which is also called critical thinking skills. Some questions require me to use critical thinking, meaning we have to explain something in a logical way, and explain the situation. The explanation part is what I am missing or week on. I could work on improving reasoning or explanation.
In health class unit 2, we learned about different health diseases that could potentially harm your physical status. We formed groups and did deeper research on a specific disease that had a stigma on. Stigma is a set of negative and often unfair beliefs that a society or group of people have about something.
I used to think mental health is just a excuse or a reason to not do something, but now I think that mental health is a disease that could seriously cause issues on your body.
My perspective have shifted from thinking these are small conditions, to understanding the importance of these mental health diseases. I changed because I have had misconceptions mainly influenced by the people around me, which I think is not accurate. For example, some people believe that OCD is is just about being super clean and tidy, but OCD is accually is a debilitating mental health disorder characterized by a cycle of unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) performed to reduce the severe anxiety those thoughts cause. After this unit, I would also share this information to people I know, to also inform them to pay attention to these small details that we might ignore in life.
My WOOP goal is to release stress under any circumstances. This app will help me achieve my goal. It uses AI technology to communicate with the user, helping the user to release stress. Some outcomes that might have is:
1. Totally not helpful, the AI is not smart. My sleep quality stayed the same
2. The app is helpful as a tool for learning about my inner thoughts, but doesn’t help to release stress. My sleep quality stayed the same, but helpful for my connection stills.
3. Great app, successfully released my stress and my emotions. Showed a clear increase of sleep quality. Clear increase means increased one percent of deep-sleep.
I wish by the end of this session, I could release all distress. A measurable metric is the increase on sleep quality. Right now, I have a average sleep quality of 21% of deep-sleep. I wish after this session, my sleep quality at least increases 1%.
The core feature of this app is chat with the AI bot, and the bot would be your therapist. The app also has other features for example the notes function. The function has “curing” pictures posts that are ment to make the user feel comfortable. Then there is the function where it could test your inner thoughts, tests that test your feeling, luck etc. The feature that I used the most is the main function which the AI acts as a therapist. The app’s promise was to make you feel relaxed, which I think has archived. I am not sure if there is any limitations, because for premium, there are even ASMR channel every morning and night done by the AI. It really does everything expect for time management. I would say the app is really useful for releasing stress.
Design Analysis
The app’s visual design incorporates rounded edges and a calming color palette that creates a relaxing user experience. These design choices appear intentional for a wellness app, as the soft visual elements help reduce stress and encourage regular use by creating a peaceful interface that aligns with wellness objectives.
Main Feature
The app features the character standing in the middle of the screen, welcoming the user. The app’s chatbot uses a soft voice and comforting language to communicate with users, creating a supportive conversational experience. This gentle communication style helps establish a mentor or friend kind of that job makes users feel comfortable engaging with the app and sharing personal wellness information.
Secondary Features
The app also uses constellation designs to show different personalities and records, adding a unique way to visualize personal data. This creative approach to data representation makes tracking progress more engaging and helps users connect with their wellness journey on a deeper, more personal level. This is shown in picture 5. In picture 4, the app is keeping track of the personalities that build up this “constellation”. It is these chats that make up my personality.
Sleep Quality Analysis
Over the past two weeks, I tracked my sleep using the health app to see if it could help improve my sleep quality. Despite following the app’s recommendations, my sleep patterns remained largely unchanged. The photos below show the nightly sleep scores and patterns, illustrating that there was no noticeable improvement in my sleep quality during this period.
Summary
This app was helpful for connecting and knowing myself. It has features that dig deep into personalities that were extremely helpful for deepening understanding, but that doesn’t decrease the stress I have everyday. Even though the app is really effective at parts of things, but using this app everyday would actually be a burden for me since it doesn’t decrease stress, meaning it doesn’t improve productivity or sleep quality, instead its starting to feel like a waste of time. But the app is definitely helpful for understanding and knowing feeling
In this unit, we learned that stress can lead to the fight, flight, freeze responses. That leads to irrational thinking because the amygdala takes over your brain when the FFF is triggered. You wouldn’t be able to use your pre-frontal cortex to think rationally. We also learned instant and delayed gratification, along with parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system. The Parasympathetic and Sympathetic nervous system control the rest and FFF responses. Now with deeper understanding of the brain, it tends to help me control my own emotions. With more understanding of the teen brain, I start to understand why adults and teens make different choices, so it helped me relate to how adults feel. The most surprising thing I learned was about eustress. I have always been in distress, so stress was always negatively impacting me. The most useful stress management method I use is meditate. It supports my health by leaving the stress behind, not thinking while meditating. This method allows my brain to take a break from the pressure in life. In the future, improving on time management could also help.
To illustrate the impact of stress responses in real life, consider a student facing an unexpected pop quiz. The sudden stress might trigger the fight-or-flight response, causing their mind to go blank, hindering their ability to recall information they studied.
In this unit, we learned how to make a legal serve, forehand and backhand hits along with different techniques. I was mainly focusing on my spins, as adding spin is really rewarding. I did well on giving my best effort, trying my best every class, practicing my techniques, etc. One thing I need to work on next time is backhand hits. I want to practice this technique because I have a low accuracy on successfully hitting the ball back to the opponent’s table.
