What do you understand in this unit?: In this unit, I learned about Algebra and geometry. For Algebra, we learned about how to write each algebra in mathematical language, simplify and solving. for geometry, we learned how to calculate areas, surface areas and volume.

What new information did you learn in this unit?: I learned about different vocabulary because I only know how to solve questions but just by remembering the formulas instead of fully understand.And now I know each meaning of each step and why.

What was interesting in this unit?: maybe copy notes and projects, because we haven’t tried to go through the whole unit by finishing notes so it is kind of fun.

What was tricky for you in this unit? Something tricky is notes, because it is easy to not finish each notes on time, Me had spent a lot time in home and lunchi time finishing notes

The first thing we explored was why all apples are not the same. I learned that the differences in taste, color, and texture come from a few key factors. First, every type of apple has its own genetic code, kind of like a recipe that tells it how to grow. A Granny Smith is programmed to be green and sour, while a Honeycrisp is built to be sweet and crunchy. Second, the environment plays a big role. How much sun the apple gets, the kind of soil it grows in, and the weather all change how it finally tastes. It is a mix of the apple’s inner blueprint and its outside surroundings.

The most memorable experience for me was the taste test we did in class. We had taste different pieces of apple without knowing which kind they were. I remember being completely shocked when I bit into a piece I was sure was a sweet Fuji, but it turned out to be a tart Granny Smith. It was a fun and surprising way to learn that we cannot always trust our first guesses. This activity stuck with me because it was hands-on and made the lesson feel real.

f I could improve one thing about this unit, it would be remembering all the vocabulary words. We learned so many new terms like hetrozygous I understand the ideas when we talk about them in class, but later I mix up which word means what. For example, I know genptype is the genetic makeup and phenotype is the physical trait you can see, but I have to stop and think every time. I think making flashcards or playing a review game would help me keep them straight. 

In this unit we learned how to do dragon dance and different movements.

Something I did well is that I can work well and collaborate with my teammates well, we didn’t do any mistakes when the teacher is recording the video.

Something I need to improve is when we are turning into a circle, it is a little bit messy but it doesn’t effect too much

In this Unit, I learned how to play badminton, how to serve and how to hit the ball.

I’m proud of that I can play simple matches with my classmates and win some matches. Something I did well is I can control the ball, where it lands and the height it flies.

Something I didn’t did well is the swing when i am playing badminton, My swing is like squash and badminton combined, i need to practice more.😁

What areas do you feel you need to improve on for Semester2? Be specific, referencing specific standards

Writing CERs, my evidence is too long and my reasoning do not explained evidence, I will try to spend more time to practice writing CERs.

If you could go back and change something about how you
approached the semester, what would it be?

Maybe it is grammar for language arts, I will check or read again before i submit and i will write slower so i can avoid grammar mistakes at the first time.

I will try to finish all the works in school because i can do high quality works in a small amount of time at school. and i will ask more questions and come at lunch at semester 2.

goal: I want to improve my critical thinker skills.

Science:when the whole class are having a short discuss i can ask some questions. And also join the discussion, and when teacher ask multiple questions, i can answer the questions with a lot of perspectives. And when i am writing CERs i need to improve to combine all the evidence and reasoning together to let the ER make sense. I can also use the evidence to support my claims.

Math: I can ask more questions in math because last semester, i was too shy to ask question so my question are always there, and when check for understanding, i will get some question wrong because i didn’t ask the questions. After the check for understanding i still don’t ask any questions so I MUST ask more questions!!!!!!!!
