Collaboration

One task that I did was to create a video that was compared to the original movie clip. I had to collaborate with my friends to make a video that had multiple roles and events. I was the character Eddie, and we were making a scene from the movie Venom: The Last Dance. While making our video for “Venom: The Last Dance,” I disagreed with a teammate about how to play my character, Eddie. They wanted a funny approach, but I thought a serious tone worked better. To solve this, we met to share our ideas and decided to mix both styles, which improved our scene and our teamwork. This taught me that good communication and being flexible are key to resolving conflicts. In future projects, I will focus on discussing different views early on. I measure my contributions by looking at three things: communication, teamwork, and creativity. Good communication helps me share ideas and listen to others. Teamwork means I support my teammates and adapt to their needs. For this video, I took part in brainstorming and helped refine our script, which made a big difference in the final product.

Creativity

When working on a song for a wake-up tune, I felt proud of my creative input but also faced criticism from my teammates, who thought it was too loud and noisy. While I believed the volume was just right to energize listeners, their feedback made me reflect on my work. I realized that balancing my vision with others’ perspectives is essential for improvement. These feelings of pride and critique push me to enhance my creative output by being more open to feedback and adjusting my approach accordingly. When faced with creative blocks, I assess my skills by identifying areas where I struggle, such as sound mixing or melody creation. I often use strategies like brainstorming with teammates, revisiting inspiration sources, or taking breaks to clear my mind. These methods help me overcome challenges and spark new ideas, ultimately leading to a more refined and collaborative creative process.

Critical Thinking

When doing my apprenticeship tasks, I faced a challenge when tasked with saving a cat from a tree using only an umbrella, a watch, and a wheelbarrow—three unrelated items. This problem didn’t have a clear solution, so I approached it by thinking creatively and brainstorming different ways to utilize these tools. I considered how the umbrella could provide shelter for the cat, the wheelbarrow could help transport it safely, and the watch could serve as a timer to ensure I worked efficiently. To determine whether I had considered all relevant perspectives, I would often step back and ask myself questions about each item’s potential uses and how they might work together. I employed self-check strategies like discussing my ideas with teammates and seeking their input, which helped ensure I wasn’t overlooking any possibilities. This collaborative approach enhanced my problem-solving skills and encouraged me to think outside the box when faced with unconventional challenges.

Communication

Reflecting on my communication style in middle school, I see a significant shift in expectations now that I’m in high school. I feel more confident expressing my ideas clearly and engaging in discussions, but navigating complex topics and differing opinions is more challenging. An instance that stands out is when I had to listen actively to a mentor discussing project feedback. By focusing on their insights and asking clarifying questions, I not only improved my understanding but also fostered a more productive conversation. I measure my communication success by observing audience reactions and their ability to engage with my ideas. I tend to be critical of myself, often feeling I could have done better, which sometimes hinders my confidence. However, this self-critique also drives me to improve my skills and strive for excellence in conveying my thoughts. Balancing generosity with self-criticism is crucial; it motivates me while reminding me to celebrate my successes along the way.

Resilience

Since entering 9th grade, I’ve learned valuable lessons about resilience, particularly the importance of perseverance in the face of challenges. One significant setback I experienced was struggling with a difficult subject, which initially felt overwhelming. To recover, I sought help from teachers and classmates, dedicated extra time to studying, and adjusted my learning strategies. This taught me that asking for support is a strength, not a weakness, and I discovered my ability to adapt and improve. To recover from setbacks, I focus on maintaining a positive mindset and setting realistic goals. I evaluate my resilience based on my ability to stay committed, learn from my experiences, and not give up easily. These insights have equipped me with the tools to tackle future challenges with greater confidence, knowing that setbacks are just stepping stones to growth and success.

Big Project

Creating a science stop-motion movie was a fun and educational experience that helped me understand both the science involved and how to make a film. We chose to show the water cycle, breaking it down into key stages: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. This required a lot of planning to make sure each phase was clear and that the animation flowed well. During production, I learned the importance of being patient and paying attention to details. Each frame needed careful adjustments to the props and backgrounds, and even small changes could affect the whole story. This taught me to keep going, even when things got frustrating. Working with my teammates made it easier to stay motivated; we shared ideas and helped each other, which improved our project. Seeing our final animation was very rewarding. We successfully shared complex scientific ideas in an engaging way. Watching our work come to life made me appreciate how art can help us learn. Overall, this project not only improved my technical skills but also strengthened my teamwork and problem-solving abilities, preparing me for future creative projects.

Extracuriccular

Playing piano as an extracurricular activity has been a wonderful and rewarding experience for me. It has helped me develop my musical skills while also allowing me to express myself creatively. Learning to play different songs taught me about rhythm, melody, and harmony, which made me appreciate music even more. At first, it was challenging to practice regularly and learn new pieces. There were times when I felt frustrated, especially when I couldn’t get a song right. However, I learned that patience and persistence are key. I started to set small goals for myself, like mastering a few measures at a time. This made practicing more enjoyable and less overwhelming. Participating in piano recitals and group lessons was also a great experience. It allowed me to share my progress with others and gain confidence in my abilities. I enjoyed collaborating with fellow musicians and learning from their styles. Overall, playing piano has not only improved my musical talent but also taught me valuable life skills like discipline and teamwork. It has become a favorite hobby that I look forward to continuing, and I believe it will remain a part of my life for years to come.

DOORS 🚪🚪🚪

I made a presentation with my friends Ryan and Peter. We gave a basic introduction to some of the most frequent entities that spawn throughout the Hotel. It was fun. Would do again.

being a ptc ambassador is crazy (⌒▽⌒)☆

After doing the PTC Ambassador, I found myself learning lots of skills. I needed to concentrate because we needed to see who needed help and think about the best way to approach them. I also worked well with the other parents and strived to collaborate. I worked for a whole 1 hour and 30 minutes. I’m just like that.

Why I am Houtarou Oreki -_-

I stick to one rule just like Houtarou. “If I don’t have to do it, I won’t. If I have to do it, I’ll make it quick.”

I was a critical thinker because when doing the activities, I always had to think of the most efficient ways to complete them so it didn’t take much of my time and I could still achieve a good score.

I was an effective collaborator because when working with my peers, I had to consider everyone’s thoughts and be inclusive so everyone was heard. This boosted me to be a really good team communicator.

I was a skillful communicator when I had to make presentations or songs that reflected my feelings, and I had to write them in ways that were creative and not just telling.

I was a creative learner because I had to figure out how to solve problems myself and make sure I was correct and not doing it wrong. I created designs and solutions by being a really good creative learner.

I am resilient at preserving my resources just like I explained in the first sentence. I like doing things efficiently and not leaving them till the last minute so I can promise both quality and time.

And that is why, I am precisely Houtarou Oreki.

when you zoom in enough you will see… ∑(O_O;)

After doing the Zoom activity, I learned that you need to pay attention to know and comprehend what the other person is saying and get to know what to do next. Also, when you are describing what you have you also need to be clear and say it in a way that is inclusive and everyone can understand.

“Everyone smiles, when they are with you. Please… from now on, go and help people in my place. Share your happiness with them.” (T_T)

The apprenticeship task we did today is laser cutting. What I did was Kirito and Asuna back to back because I just finished watching SAO. Some plusses from this experience are remembering what to do quickly because I learned a lot about Inkscape last year. Honestly, there were no negatives, I finished quickly and got to laser cut fast. I love this maker space class.

He said he’s gonna what?!ヽ(°〇°)ノ

So, what are my AI goals and clarifications? My goal for ethical AI use is to use AI for inspiration and help but add my own. ideas and style to make my work unique. But how will I know that I am making progress towards my AI-related goal? Whenever I use AI, I will stop and think about my purpose. Is it for getting ideas? Brainstorming? Then, I will consider if it will affect my creativity and make it seem too high or too low for my level. I will monitor my AI use by not deleting prompts and uses. Like in Poe, after you use AI it will leave a mark and you can go back to see what you did.

Valorant Memes Too Funny For Words

I learned that you should never share your password with your peers or partners, because you never know what will happen. Always make sure what you send or say online is ethical because once it is sent out it is irreversible. With these in mind, technology will be at your use.
