I think some safe behavours that are impotant are when you are going to sleep you should not watch any TV or you will become like the man in the comic. But if you do have a problem and you don’t know who to tell you could tell your Parents your counselers and some trusted friends. One way that technology inmpacts teens the most in my opinion is the blue light because they most likely like me watch TV till very late which stops them from growing which is bad for health. First one stratige is putting your games of phone out side of the room you sleep in. anouther way to stop yourself is having your gurdians put screen time n your eletronics. The last way you could do is to urege and stop yourself from playing. The biggest take away is probly when the man closes his laptop the blue light goes away but when he opens the laptop again the blue light comes back.
Some feedback I got was to spreed the and add more things to the comic. and If you want ot learn more you coudl go to brainpop and they have videos about it or other articals.
I learned about dystopian fiction by reading the giver and writing academic paragraphs responding to questions about the text.
What did we learn
Some things we learned in this unit is writing academic paragraphs, another thing we learned in this unit is using transition words, and academic discussions with our discussion groups we do.
What worked
some things that worked for me was was the discussion groups because there was a template that our teacher gave us. another thing that worked was the academic paragraphs that we did.
what did not work
Somethings that did not work was reading the chapters on time because most of the time i would forget or not have time to read the chapters of the book.
Personal relevance
I think this will help me a lot in the future because now when I read a book and have to discuss it with a group I know how to write a paragraph. Another thing that this could help me in the future is if I write summaries in school I could now use more transitions words more.
We started by completing an investigation to determine the relationship between potential energy and height. We also made a lab report, made a model for a rollercoaster, then we took some data, last we wrote an concluding CER.
In this project, we made fried chicken because we had a bake sale.
What did we learn
In this unit, we did this project because we had to calculate the amounts of the ingredients needed to make our fried chicken. Some things we learned were how to turn percents into rates and how to calculate a percentage of something.
What worked
The things that worked in this unit were the cooking part of the project, because we deep-fried the chicken. Another thing that worked was selling our product because of our amazing appetizer, Takis.
What did not work
Some things that did not work included making the popcorn chicken, because I had to get up early in the morning to make it; otherwise, it would have gone bad.
Personal relevance
I think this could help me in the future because, first, I now know how to set up and run a bake-sale plan. Second, the math I did can help me with similar tasks in the future. Lastly, this can help me understand what people want and where good areas to set up a booth are.
In this unit I worked on was the mystery of Ötzi the ice man. An perfectly preserved mummy on the Italian alps from 5,500 years ago, then we did research on how he died why he died and what he was caring with him lastly after we did all that we had a big mock trial trying to convince the jury’s that he was murdered or not murdered and I was a court reporter so I wrote an article and took photos of the trial.
What did I learn
The thing I learned in this unit was why we should care about the past, like how there are ways to preserve items and people perfectly without human tech only nature. Another thing I learned from this unit was how in Otzi’s life there was many rules that exist today like how there are territories and what people would do like invade land like Ötzi’s home.
What worked well
Somethings that worked well was getting the information for the first part of the unit like how he died because all the information we needed was in the different articles we had another thing that went well was getting the information from the different expert witness because I just had to ask them questions and put them in my artical
What did not work
The thing that did not really work was putting the article together because I had to add an advertisement which was hard for me to find. Another thing that was hard for me was finishing things on time but in the end, I got it done on time, but I had to do it as homework. The last thing that was hard for me in this unit was putting the photos on the task and one thing I would like to have improved on was taking more photos of the trial.
Personal relevance
Something that I think will help me with in real life is first I know how a court works and when to stand and when to sit. Another thing is now that I know that nature can also preserve things without human interference. That last thing I think that could help me in life is how the past is especially important and if I ever wanted to be perfectly persevering, I would have to climb a very tall and cold mountain.
in this unit we made cars made to protect eggs with the criteria of nto crackng the egg also the constraints and materials of 3 a4 sheets of paper 1 straw and and can not be 16 cm longer.
the things we learned in this unit is how the 3 laws apply to the carts like how we need chambers or seat belts to keep the egg from flying out because of newtons 1st law the law of inertia and how for the cart to move we need a large amount of force like the ramp to made it slide down. lastly the way we make it so that the car keeps the egg safe is adding an crumble zone which is made to break so it takes up most of the force exerted form the wall which comes from newtons 3rd law.
the things that worled was our car and hwo it is still one piece adn how ic could hold the egss weight and how the held on impact. anouther thing that worked well was the idea of the cart which me and my partner both contibuted to. lastly the thing that worked was the crumble zone breaking.
somethings that went wrong was how it could not protect the egg and the egg broke. anouther thing was it could not hold the egg’s weight that well so it was very wobbly. which results in the cahmber hitting the brick wall. lastly the final thing that went wrong was how the front wheal was wobbly and went back in forth.
Now form this assiment i learned that crumble zones are very important in keeping me safe by taking up most of the force on impact. also when the car hits the seat belts keep me in the car. lastly i now know how hard it is to keep a person safe when they crash.
The Balloon cart was built with well a balloon a straw some tape a stiphone base with wheels. the reason we built the cars was so that we could do an investigation about newtons 3 different laws. like the law of acceleration where we added weights and we had to pump more air to one that was filled with weights to go the same distance as the one with no weights.
Newtons 1st law the law of inertia, this law’s definition is “when something is at rest, when something is in motion it will tend to stay in motion unless acted upon by and unbalanced force one example of this is in the balloon cart were if we put one weight on the balloon cart it would not want to move with the car when air is let go so it would fly off. Newtons second law is the law of acceleration, F=ma the more mass and object has the more force is needed to move the object an example is when we put weights on the car we need more air power to push that cart forward than a car with nothing in it. Newtons 3rd law the law of action reaction, “every action as an equal and opposite reaction” the air pushing off the floor to propel the cart forward is an example of newtons 3rd law.
one thing that worked well in the project was how me and my partner Issac work together very well and we litsen to each others ideas and add them to our design. another thing that worked well was how it contributed to the 3 laws of newton so i could write the top part easily. lastly the car designing was also easy because we had a tutorial video and we just modified it a little bit.
it was a struggle lining up the car poprerly because always made it slanted so we just got issac to do it and it solved the problem. anouther thing that was hard to do was the desighn ideas becuase when building we wanted ours to go fast so we aimed our air flow down. also our base broke so it was hard to get it intact again.
I see newtons 1st law in real life when my mom makes a sharp turn or stops i go the way i was originaly but the car was going another way. it is important to knwo newton’s laws becuase it help us know where and which way things are going to go when we do something. the ballon cart is like real life becuase when we place a washer up high and realease the air it falls of like a washing wachine on top of a car unstraped.
