Creative Learner
I have completed Task 8 for the Creative Learner, where I created a travel brochure for a destination that resonates with me. I chose the Maldives, a tropical paradise that I have visited before and cannot forget. This task challenged my creativity and encouraged me to think about how to effectively showcase the beauty and uniqueness of the Maldives. I aimed to highlight its breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and diverse activities to inspire others to explore this incredible destination. On the other hand, while I appreciate the design that reflects the stunning scenery of the Maldives, I feel that my work lacks creativity. However, I am proud of the informative text and visuals I included, which effectively showcase the beauty of the destination. Looking ahead, I believe I could improve my work by choosing more interesting or unconventional destinations that may not be as widely recognized. This would allow me to explore new themes and narratives while challenging myself creatively. In conclusion, Task 8 has been a valuable learning experience that has deepened my understanding of effective communication through design.
Critical Thinker
For Critical Thinker, I’ve completed tasks 6, 3, and 2. These activities focus on how to identify misguiding or inaccurate information on the internet. In one of the tasks, I need to identify the fallacies used in advertisements. I realized that many advertisements rely on misleading techniques to persuade consumers, such as appealing to emotions, using false comparisons, and making unfounded claims. When I analyze an advertisement, I first examine the text to identify any persuasive language. Then, I look at the images to see if they feature well-known or credible figures who can lend authority to the product being promoted. This is because the presence of recognizable faces often serves to enhance trust and appeal, making consumers more likely to engage with the advertisement and consider the product. This activity helps me think critically about these tactics and understand how they can influence my purchasing decisions, enabling me to make more informed choices as a consumer. In addition, this awareness has transformed how I approach advertisements, prompting me to question their validity.
Resilience
For Resilience, I’ve completed tasks 18 and 19. For Task 19, I am required to read the book ‘ The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens’, it reinforced my understanding of resilience as an active process rather than a passive trait, that resilience is not merely about enduring challenges but actively working to overcome them. I have found that adopting a proactive mindset and setting clear goals significantly enhance my ability to cope with stress. These habits benefit me academically as well as outside of school; they have improved my communication skills and time management. In addition, they enable me to have a more open perspective and be willing to challenge myself. However, I find it difficult to take the first step toward living the habits outlined in the book. To overcome this obstacle, I set clear, achievable goals based on the habits outlined in the book, breaking down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps. So, I started with the habits that resonated most with me and let my family and friends encourage me.
Skillful Communicator
For the Skillful Communicator task, I completed tasks 7 and 14 by creating a guide to help people use Dazhongdianping. When I am doing this guide, I realize that I need to consider how the audience sees it, not only considering myself. I need to ensure that the information would not be too overwhelming. One of the challenges I faced was ensuring that the guide was comprehensive without being overly detailed, so I presented the information in bullet points to ensure it was clear and simple for the audience so they could follow along without losing track. Also, I need to make it accessible enough that whether the audience is familiar with this app or not, they can still understand. In summary, completing tasks 7 and 14 by creating a guide for Dazhong Dianping has significantly impacted my development as a skillful communicator. The challenges I faced in ensuring clarity and accessibility taught me valuable lessons about effective communication strategies.
Collaborator
For collaborator, I’ve completed tasks 9 and 7. For this task, I played a game called ‘Zoom In’, where we arranged ourselves into the correct order, wherein each image is a zoomed-in version of the one before it. The most challenging part of the “Zoom In” game for me was effectively communicating the details of my image to my teammates without showing it to them. Throughout the game, I quickly realized that clear communication was essential for our success. Each team member had to rely on the descriptions provided by others to piece together the correct order of images. This highlighted the significance of teamwork. Since the game involved arranging images based on zoomed-in versions, I had to rely solely on verbal descriptions to convey what I saw. In addition, active listening is as important as communicating. As a part of the group, I tried to describe my image as well as listening to others. In the end, we successfully found the correct position for everyone. Overall, participating in the “Zoom In” game reinforced my understanding of effective communication and teamwork.

For this task, i created a personality quiz ‘What kind of friend are you?’ using typeform. In order to make this quiz, i need write a logic for it so it could lead to results from the chooses the audience chose. So i used about a hour and half to make this quiz.
For this task, I created a new fitness routine, and my goal is cardio training. I made a written guide including warming up, routine, and cool down. This training is a circuit training.

For this task, I’ve read the Ethical Dilemma short story by Kitty Genovese. This short story shows the bystanders ignoring the victim’s screams, however, at the end of the article, it was said that the story was inaccurate as there are people who tried to help her.
In this task, I created a travel brochure for the Maldives. I included images and descriptions of this destination, as well as its history, culture, major attractions, accommodations, and travel logistics. This brochure is made on Canva.
I assisted at the Pink Ribbon booth during the International Fair, organizing a Plinko game. This experience improved my teamwork skills, booth management, and ability to engage with children.
In this activity, I created a guide to Dazhong Dianping, the Chinese version of Yelp. While working on this guide, I realized the importance of being detailed enough for someone who is not familiar with this app and doesn’t speak Chinese. It was essential to provide clear instructions to effectively guide them.
