Art Unit 1 Sketchbook Cover Reflection

In this unit we focused on drawing a sketchbook cover. The sketchbook cover had to relate to me, and have it to kind of, represent me. In my sketchbook cover artwork I first drew the texture or the background of the artwork, which was this type of artwork, where, I Covered most of the paper with tape, and covered the space with different colored posca pens. After that, I ripped off the tap and traced each of the shapes with a black posca pen. Then, I drew my hobbies and things I like. For example, I love watching spongebob, so I drew his name and squid wards house. Then, I drew a piece of candy, because I love candy, they are very sweet. After that, I drew my favorite sports. Basketball, table tennis, badminton, and dodgeball, which are the 4 small stickmen fighting with balls. then, I drew a small version of myself, because this is about me. We also had to plan this piece of artwork.

Math Unit 3 Reflection

  • U: What do you understand in this unit?

One thing that I understood was how to change the percentages into decimals and calculating tax and tip and discounts.

  • N: What new information did you learn in this unit?

One information that was new to me was turning percents to decimals and vice versa.

  • I: What was interesting in this unit?

One thing that I found interesting was how I could use this new learned strategy for the future when I am finding a job or saving money.

  • T: What was tricky for you in this unit?

One thing that was tricky was how to solve the questions of percent changes. Because I didn’t read the word questions correctly.

Social Studies Unit 2: Visual Presentation

For the visual presentation and the project, I chose Nuclear Submarines, because I really like submarines but I haven’t learned much about them, so I thought that it would be a good challenge for me. The format of presentation that I chose was to create a physical model because I thought that it would be more visually appealing and would be shown more productive. One part of my visual presentation that I think that I did a good job in was how my idea and how much I worked on it. One thing that I should work on is remembering next time to never use 3D printing because it turns out really small therefore making it look very low effort.

Social Studies Unit 2: Essay

In my social studies essay, there is a total of 5 paragraphs, a claim, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. In the claim, you have to write a little bit about the topic and not just one sentence like a short CER. Then, the first paragraph is of the body paragraphs are about the positive effects your chosen technology transportation/communication. Then, the second is about the negative impacts, and the last paragraph is about the changes and problems of your chosen item and who was responsible for it and if they fixed it and how. Finally, between all the paragraphs we needed to have some sort of linking sentence, which I struggled a little bit with. In the last paragraph, the conclusion, I had to restate the claim but to not copy it word for word.

One thing that I did well in the essay is that I successfully wrote a essay which I am pretty proud of, and I feel like I wrote fairly enough. I need to learn how to improve my grammer and my vocabulary, by reading books and practicing.

Science Unit 2 Reflection

My Essential Question: How do our body systems work together when we play our favorite sports.

I learned about the human body systems and their function, also, the cell organelles and their function. Knowing these functions allowed me to identify what organelles or body systems were used to go to play table tennis which was my chosen sport. This shows how the organelles make up the cell, that make up tissue and organs and then organ systems. We learned this during our research for this project.

The most important and impactful activity for this unit are watching videos, the dissections, group work, and review games. But sometimes, I don’t really want to work in groups, so sometimes I like doing independent research projects. I think that this helps me reflect on how I learn the best, I prefer any type of work.

I think that I could improve on making my model look more amusing and more creative, because I think that my model isn’t really eye catching. It was plain. I think that I can also improve on my CER writing as I can always do better on that.

Health Unit 3 Reflection #DecideModel

In this unit we learned about the decide model and how to stay safe with it. We also learned about peer pressure and substance abuse and use.

DECIDE MODEL:

Define: Define the situation and figure out whats happening.

Explain: Explain what is important and what is not. What is a want and a need.

Consider: Consider your choices or endings.

Identify: Identify the best alternative or ending.

Decide: Choose the alternative or ending.

Evaluate: Evaluate the ending.

The decide model can help people in choosing what is the right choice and the best choice to prevent them from getting into trouble. Especially in peer pressure and drugs, it can prevent you from getting into real trouble. Like thinking before you speak.

I learned that drugs are made out of opioid, and it makes them highly addictive. Especially on teens, because their brain has not fully developed yet. Some people use painkillers after surgery of an injury, because it hurts a lot, and painkillers relieve pain.

Unit 2 Reflection Post

  • U: What do you understand in this unit?

I understood how to find and create scale drawings, and find the scale area and the scale perimeter.

  • N: What new information did you learn in this unit?

One new information that I learned is how to find scaled area.

  • I: What was interesting in this unit?

One thing that was interesting in this unit are the formulas and the vocabulary.

  • T: What was tricky for you in this unit?

I struggled with word problems as I didn’t read problems clearly and went too fast.

Swimming Unit Reflection

In the last unit, we swam. In the swimming unit, we practiced how to swim the normal strokes. For example, freestyle and breaststroke. We also learned about artistic swimming and made a artistic swimming routine, and preformed in front of the class at the end of the unit. We also learned how to survive and stay on top of the water. For example, treading and floating. I learned how to tread and float.

Health Unit 2

I used to think that most medical influencers with a “Dr,” in their their name, was a doctor, they would probably be a reliable source. And if I thought it wasn’t true, I just searched it up, or just ignored it.

But now I know that anyone can put a doctor next to their name even though they are not a doctor. So, in order to really see if they are a reliable source, we have to conduct the craap test on them. The craap test is one strategy you can use to determine if the health information is true. And this is what each letter means.

C – Currency: Check how old the info is and if it is up to date.

R – Relevance: Why does this matter and does it relate to you.

A – Authority: Who wrote it, and are they trustworthy and reliable, or have any qualifications.

A – Accuracy: Is the info correct or backed up by evidence.

P – Purpose: Is it biased or why it is posted or exists.

One example that influenced me to think this, is when we talked about Ashton Hall and I started to get the craap test and I understand what the test was supposed to let us see.

This is my peer feedback that I got after my presentation with Andy

Social Studies Unit 1: Media Presentation

Media Presentation video This is the link to the one drive folder that includes my 2 media presentation videos.

What are some pieces of feedback that you received and then incorporated into your work: For my speaking, the feedback was to speak louder and be more confident. Practice more and say less filler words. And then, for my work, my feedback was to write more clearly, and be more detailed. but I think that was because I was nervous and skipped some parts. Also, to add more strong non language strategies like adding photos, which I did, but they wanted more because they thought it would be more eye catching.

Explain 1 thing that you are proud of from this unit: In this unit, I am proud of how I finished my project with my best effort and tried my best to present it.

Explain 1 thing that you want to keep working on: I would like to work more on my public speaking and confidence, also, maybe I would choose a different choice of media next time. I would also like to write more and more detailed words in my media page.

The word bias means to think of something in a different way. It means a person sees something in a different perspective and treats and talks different about it, and different people could think differently . Bias is the reason we all have different perspectives, but it is often said and used as unfair treatment, for example, pushing one person away like bullying.

Explain 1 positive outcome of people having the same perspective might be: We would have no fights and we would all have equality and share the same thoughts. Nobody would feel left out and there will be no fighting.

Explain 1 negative outcome of people having the same perspective might be: There would be no creativity if all we thought was the same perspective and nobody would see something from a different angle. The world would be dull. and boring.

This is my peer assessment where my partner assessed me on my work at that time, which was the second day of creating this project.
