TTG Progress

Throughout my TTG journey I practised my communication skillls, and learnt to think outside the box. One way I was showing skillful communicater was when I resolved two contradicting ideas in our group. So far I have finished a limited amount of tasks, which means I have to catch up on them.

ZOOM!

Today we played a fun game called Zoom. It is where each people describe their picture, and organize them into sequences. Throughout this activity, I practiced communication skills, and learnt to listen carefully to others. This falls in the the TTG catagory of skillful communicater, worth 15 credits.

The art of a laser

Usually when we think of a laser, we think of a laser-pointer tool that teachers use on a board in class. But the potential of what laser can do goes beyond that…

In todays class, I used a laser cutter to cut a piece of board showcasing my idole Cristiano Ronaldo in wood. I used wood-engraving technique in the area that is black.

Preventing AI Invasion

I want to use AI as a leaning assistant, but always try to understand and do the work on my own. To get started, this week I will use AI to create a daily plan in achieving my long term goals. This wil help me to organise myself better and to prevent a problem imbedded inside me for a while – procrastination. To make sure I don’t over-use this AI, I won’t use it to directly write essays for me. Instead, I will write the essay myself, and then use AI to provide me advises to self-improve. 🤩

EUA summary of learning

Today our group acted out a cyber-bullying scene. My takeaway from this is that we should not send rude comments online without thinking about the consequences. Even if we see other people posting hilarious comments, we definitely should not repost it and use it to harass them. Information online stays permanent, so think before you post anything!😎

Importance of crediting sources

Throughout this AI Dilemma journey, I further realized how unethical it is to copy and paste another author’s text without crediting the source. My perspective has been reinforced to credit sources in MLA format every time.

Embark on my Journey

I’m Andy. I studied at WCIS during middle school. There I learnt plenty of new skills and made lots of friends. I greatly improved my social and communication skills, as well as leadership skills. At WCIS I ran for STEM Chairman, for the primary goal of improving STEM-based activities and clubs. Through this role I had more chances to connect with teachers and further expand my knowledge.

As an ordinary High schooler, I have many outstanding Strengths, but also weaknesses. One of my strengths is communicating with my peers and starting thorough discussions. In classes I would always like to help others that are struggling. My main weakness is planning ahead and following the plan. Sometimes I forgot to hand in my homework or struggle with due dates. My other area of improvement would be critical thinking skills. Currently I have the skill to be innovative in ideas, but lacking the ability to further explore and expand them.

I am super excited to enter high school. I greatly look forward to the widely diverse clubs and a calming study environment. As a student that loves socializing, I’ve managed to make plenty of new friends in the school. This makes me look forward to being in hish school every day. Hope I have a fascinating time!

Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
  • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
