Creative Learner πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ¨

For the creative learner category, I attempted 3 different activities: activity planning, t-shirt design, and baking. For activity planning, my classmates and I co-planned turkey bowl – a high school event; and for baking, my friends and I made brownies which we shared with to the class. I personally enjoyed baking with my friends the most, as it encouraged me to bond and establish a deeper friendship with them. The activities challenged me to be creative as 1. we had to plan an event that everyone would enjoy, 2. creating a totally new t-shirt design that would fit the criteria + be something others would wear, and 3. create a new-concept desert that would be cute yet still edible. I’m proud of the work I did for this category as it challenged me to think outside of my comfort zone.

Critical Thinker πŸ’

For the critical thinker category I read to kids and did the wordplay activity. I found this category to be the most challenging to complete as most of the activities took a large amount of time. I did enjoy reading to kids because it was fun being around little SAS students. I got to see how their experience in SAS is different from mine back then. The wordplay activity was fun overall, as it challenged me to imagine myself in a dystopian world. In conclusion, this category’s activities were the least interesting to me. Most of the tasks felt a lot harder and would take longer than the estimated time, therefore, the task wasn’t worth the points/it was worth more points.

Resilience πŸ’ͺ

For the resilience category, I did a mindful walk, acts of kindness, and a vision board. My favorite task that I did was the act of kindness because it’s a very free event. Any kind act would count. The act I did was helping out a stray kitten, although it passed soon after us helping her, it was nice knowing she had a good last few days. Overall, this section was the least interesting to me but I still had fun challenging myself to go out of my comfort zone.

Skillful Communicator πŸ“ž

For this part, I helped out LSC, created a social media post, and did an interview. For Language Service Club, I taught elementary teachers Chinese and I planned several lessons, for Student Council I drafted a social media post for Turkey Bowl, and for the interview I asked my mom questions about her experience abroad. I enjoyed this section because I not only gained experience in teaching but also new abilities, I also got to learn more about my mom, it was fun to bond with her. This section’s tasks felt the most useful and had tasks that would help/benefit me in my day to day life. I also found the tasks to be fun and enjoyable.

Effective Collaborator πŸ§‘β€πŸ§‘β€πŸ§’β€πŸ§’

In this category, I had an incredible time engaging in a variety of creative tasks that allowed me to express myself and connect with others. Designing a t-shirt was a highlight, as it provided an outlet for my artistic skills and let me contribute something unique to the group. Visiting my old teacher and assisting in their class was both nostalgic and rewarding; I enjoyed reconnecting and supporting students in their learning journey. Additionally, solving the silent mystery with my friends was a thrilling experience that challenged our teamwork and problem-solving abilities, making each moment not just fun but also memorable. Overall, these activities not only sparked my creativity but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration that I truly cherished.

Wordplay πŸ› (Critical thinker – 30 points)

16 Types of Wordplay, with Definitions and Examples | Grammarly Blog

The words I chose: I, you, we, are, happy, sad, love, hate, want, need, food, water, home, go, here, there, yes, no, help, good.

I chose these words because they are what we need to live and understand each other. We need love to feel happy, and we need help when we are sad. Food and water are what keep us alive, and home is where we feel safe. Words like “yes” and “no” let us make choices, while “here” and “there” help us find our way. I chose “good” because it reminds us of what we should strive for, and “happy” because it’s what we all want. These words are simple, but they are enough to share what we need, what we feel, and how we care for each other.
