  1. Task 8: Create a travel brochure
  1. Task 2: Create a comic strip
  1. Task 1: Create a Modern fairy tale
  1. Reflection
  1. Engaging in tasks like creating a travel brochure, a comic strip, and a modern fairy tale has significantly boosted my creativity, while also being highly enjoyable. Designing the travel brochure made me feel like a real marketer, as I had to blend visual design with persuasive writing to capture the essence of a place. I felt challenged but excited to think about how to draw others in through words and images. Creating the comic strip was one of the most fun tasks; I felt like an artist and storyteller rolled into one, using illustrations and dialogue to bring humor and emotion to life. The process of making the comic was incredibly satisfying because I could see my ideas unfold visually. Writing a modern fairy tale felt like stepping into a world where anything was possible, and I loved the challenge of twisting a familiar story to fit a contemporary setting. It sparked my imagination and made me feel proud of how I could balance the old with the new. Overall, these tasks were not only fun but pushed me to explore new ways of expressing myself. They helped me discover how creative I can be when I combine different elements like writing, visuals, and problem-solving.
  1. Critical Thinker
  1. Tasks done:
  1. Task 13: Wordplay
  1. Task 15: Gomoku or Nim
  1. Task 3: Ethical Dilemmas
  1. Reflection
  1. Tasks like wordplay, Gomoku or Nim, and ethical dilemmas have helped me develop my critical thinking skills, each in a unique way. The wordplay activity initially felt like a playful challenge, yet it made me realize how much language can be a puzzle. I felt a sense of accomplishment as I pieced together words and patterns, using logic and creativity in a way I hadn’t before. Playing Gomoku or Nim was both intense and rewarding. At first, the strategy was tough to grasp, but as I played more, I felt a sense of empowerment when I anticipated my opponent’s next move and used logical thinking to outsmart them. This task pushed me to think several steps ahead and not just focus on the immediate outcome. The ethical dilemmas task was perhaps the most thought-provoking. It was challenging to navigate complex moral questions, and I found myself reflecting deeply on my values and beliefs. At times, it made me uncomfortable, but that discomfort led to personal growth as I considered different perspectives and learned to make more reasoned decisions. Overall, each task helped me think more critically, whether through patterns, strategies, or moral reflections, and I felt more confident in my ability to approach problems with clear, logical reasoning.

  1. Tasks done:
  1. Task 16: Read and reflect activity to cultivate persistence and optimism
  1. Task 5: Go for a mindfulness walk
  1. Reflection
  1. The tasks of reading and reflecting to cultivate persistence and optimism, along with going for a mindfulness walk, have taught me how to strengthen my resilience. The reading and reflection activity was particularly enlightening because it allowed me to see how others have faced adversity with persistence and optimism. I felt inspired by the stories of perseverance, and it made me reflect on my own challenges, teaching me to see setbacks as opportunities for growth. I felt a renewed sense of determination after completing the activity, knowing that obstacles can be overcome with the right mindset. The mindfulness walk, however, had a more calming effect. At first, I wasn’t sure how effective it would be, but as I walked and focused on the present moment, I felt a sense of peace and clarity wash over me. It helped me reset mentally and emotionally, reminding me of the importance of self-care and staying grounded. The combination of both tasks was powerful—one pushed me to think positively and keep going even when things get tough, while the other helped me stay calm and balanced. These tasks were not just helpful; they were essential in reminding me how to approach life’s challenges with both optimism and mindfulness.
  1. Skillful communicator
  1. Tasks done:
  1. Task 14: Create a BuzzFeed style quiz
  1. Task 7: Instructional guide
  1. Presentation
  1. Reflection:
  1. The tasks of creating a BuzzFeed-style quiz, crafting an instructional guide, and delivering a presentation have all contributed to my development as a communicator, in ways that were both enjoyable and challenging. Designing the BuzzFeed quiz was a fun and creative exercise, making me feel like I was engaging with my audience in a personal, interactive way. I enjoyed the challenge of coming up with questions that were both entertaining and informative, and I felt a sense of accomplishment when I saw how my quiz could spark fun conversations. Writing the instructional guide, on the other hand, was a more serious task, but it gave me a sense of pride when I realized how much I could simplify complex ideas into clear, understandable steps. It taught me the value of clarity and precision in communication. The presentation was probably the most nerve-wracking task, but it ended up being incredibly rewarding. At first, I was nervous about speaking in front of others, but as I practiced and delivered my ideas confidently, I felt empowered. It was a valuable experience in managing my nerves and communicating with clarity and confidence. All these tasks helped me grow in different ways, from creativity to clarity to confidence in public speaking.
  1. Effective Collaborator
  1. Tasks done:
  1. Task 1: Design a new club
  1. Task 5: Reading buddy/assistant for ES
  1. Task 8: Zoom images challenge
  1. Reflection:
  1. Working on tasks like designing a new club, being a reading buddy/assistant for elementary school students, and participating in the Zoom images challenge has made me a more effective collaborator. Designing the new club was a particularly exciting experience because it required me to listen to others’ ideas and work together to create a shared vision. At first, I felt a bit uncertain about how to combine all the ideas, but once we started brainstorming and organizing, I felt energized by the group’s creativity and teamwork. Being a reading buddy was both rewarding and humbling. I felt a strong sense of responsibility as I helped younger students with their reading, and it also made me feel proud when I could guide them through difficult concepts. The patience required in this task was a valuable lesson in how to work well with others, especially when there is a knowledge gap. The Zoom images challenge was a fun and mentally stimulating task that made me feel like part of a team working toward a common goal. Collaborating on this task tested our ability to problem-solve and think creatively under time pressure, and I felt a sense of satisfaction when we successfully completed the challenge. Each task brought out different aspects of collaboration, from brainstorming to teaching to problem-solving, and all of them helped me become a more empathetic and effective team player.

Zoom Activity🤪

One of the most important skills during this activity was communication, as we had to clearly describe what we had for our sheet in order for others to get an idea of what we had and therefore be able to build a line of what the order is. This demonstrates my effective collaborator and skillful communicating skills.

We also had to think critically in what the order was and how to get there.

Also how we should describe each picture allowed our creativity to soar and use vivid descriptions to communicate.

This also demonstrated resilience as we could not give up, and had to continue trying even after we failed the first time.

The Chess Improvement Club♟️

One of the many student led clubs I have recently joined is the Chess Improvement Club.

The Chess Improvement Club is something I have joined to improve my chess skills. So far, I think it is very interesting, and I have learned a lot in the club. It is a fun opportunity to socialize with friends through a game. I have had lots of fun in this club and I would recommend others to join even if you are not the best at the game, as it is the friends we make and the fun we have along the way that is the most important.
