In this unit, we learned about how to play water polo. First, we learned about the swimming strokes and how to dribble the ball. We also practiced catching and passing balls with a partner. At first, we did head-up freestyle and breaststroke. We practiced these skills for the first few lessons and at the beginning of each lesson. Then we started to play games. I choose to be in the lower level and we each had roles for each game. For example, you can be passing the ball.

- Why did I pick this?
I choose this because this best shows that I met the standard with the others with similar time and spoken times with the class average. I showed that I can follow up with the class and stand out to share my ideas with the others.
This shows that I can communicate with my peers and stay in the range of the class average. I didn’t speak too little or too much.
My current goal is to be able to answer more questions in class and be more ethusiastic.
I tried to raise my hand to answer questions in class mroe often.
I am proud that I can collaborate with my teammate and work together for projects. I think my biggest challenge is trying to answer questions in class and participating. I finish all my work in time and I’m always prepared for class.
I choose question 5 as evidence of my best learning because I demonstrated that I can correct my mistakes from the past and I can also ensure my accuracy.
I also choose question 8 as evidence of my best learning because I used my critical thinking skills to show that I got the questions correct.
Throughout this unit, I improved on my accuracy for remembering that order is really important for the triangles.
I feel that I still need to work on being careful of writing the translations in order and checking my work after I do them.
I think my strengths are calculating math, collaborating with my table, and using critical thinking.
I want to improve on the accuracy of my work, being careful of silly mistakes, and maybe trying the L4s for the next unit.
In the next unit, I want to be able to avoid silly mistakes and I can do this by checking my work.
In this Unit, we learned about the 8 parts of speech, types of sentences, and some phrases. Our goal for this unit was to understand the English Language and be able to teach an alien English.
Glow:
I think I did well in teaching my alien how to speak English and use the 8 parts of speech. I taught the alien how to use sentences and phrases as well.

Grow:
I think I can explain to my alien better about the shades of meaning and try to teach it how to use a variety of sentences.
For this unit in PE, we learned about playing doubles and singles. The first few classes, we learned about how to play singles and the basic rules.
When playing singles, you have to serve behind the table, show the ball to your opponents and throw the ball into the air when serving. when serving, we also need to remember to bounce the ball on your side first and then bounce it on your opponent’s side. If you bounce the ball on the table, that is considered against the rules.
We also learned about forehand and backhand. For forhand, you push the ball and hit it towards the opponent. If advanced, we can try to slice the ball to make it harder. for the opponent to hit. (I tried and failed. )
For backhand, hit the ball with the other side of the racket, the opposite side of which you hit for forehand.
Lastly, we learned about how to play doubles. Doubles has a different serving system. Every time, your patner will serve twice and your opponent will serve.
My teammates and I created a game called marble grab. It is a game where you blindly grab a marble from a bag and, based on the color of the marble, get a prize.

When we were working on creating the game, we didn’t have any conflicts. However, when we were deciding on the number of marbles that should be put in the bag, we had a long discussion. We were discussing whether to put in more marbles or less. However, if we put in more, the chance of winning could decrease because there are too many marbles. If we had too few marbles, it would be too easy to win. At last, we all agreed on the number 20.
The probability fair was really fun, and I didn’t think that we would have that many visitors. I feel like the tickets are kind of useless, and next year, there either shouldn’t be any tickets or we should count the tickets.
The theoretical probability of winning was a 75% chance, and the experimental chance was approximately 52%.

For our documentary, we first had to pick a partner to work together with. I choose hannah as my partner and also decided to do the topic of “The Establishment of the People’s Republic of China.” We chose this topic because we wanted to do something that is related to our culture and heritage to share. Next, we started to brainstorm and start our research. We found lots of articles and we had to print them of to annotate them. After the annotations, we started to write our script. For the script, we had to separate it into a few parts and each partner will write about a part. After that, the teacher checked our work and we started to find photos and cite them. We learned about using OSLIS to cite our sources. The final step was to put everything together, the audio, the photos, the citations, including some music, text titles, and editing the video. Overall, i really liked this project because it was involving group work and individual work. However, I think we could have done the audio better because when we were presenting the video, the audio sounded a bit weird and not every audio sounded the same. Maybe we could have chosen a different topic as well. I think I did well on collaborating with my partner and time management.
For our food, we identified water, which is H₂O, as the simple molecule and lauric acid, which is C₁₂H₂₄O₂, as the complex molecule. The sign of physical change was when we were preparing the cake. There was a change in state of matter when melting the butter. For a sign of chemical change, we were mixing many ingredients together, and this is a sign of chemical change while the cake is being baked. Signs also show chemical change when the cake is baking because because we are heating it up a lot and the new mixture is the baked cake itself.

I would spend more time reviewing the quiz and doing my lab report because I had some errors in my lab report that needed to be changed. I really enjoyed this unit especially the final prject but I think it would be better if we had more time for cooking part.
In this unit, we discussed different ways to solve different problems. We learned about geometry in this unit as a main topic. A few things we learned about were circles, volumes, surface area, algebra, expressions, area, and real-world problems. We studied different ways to show our work and how to use expressions to show the formula. For our final project, I drew a floor plan with an explanation of why I put these pieces of furniture here and the calculations for these pieces of furniture. I really liked this, but it took me a really long time, and my eyes are dying. 🙂
