In this unit, we learned about mental health and how it is important to teens and adults.
Before the Unit
I used to think that mental health was something about what you thought and what your actions were. I thought that mental health wasn’t something that’s very important and something that didn’t play a main role in life. I didn’t think that adults would have a lot of problems dealing with mental health and that it was something they worried about.
After the Unit
Now that I’ve learned more about it, I know that mental health is something really important; no matter if it’s adults or teens, everyone can be having problems with mental health, and it is not something we can ignore. For example, in class we talked about how Selena Golmez had to deal with mental health issues because people were sending hateful comments. Mental health can contribute to feelings, actions, thoughts, and more. In class, we discussed that some of the symptoms for a specific type of mental health disorder can be emotions. These disorders can be depression, anxiety, or more. People can feel mad or frustrated, and these actions or feelings can be harmful to others or yourself. To sum up, mental health plays a very important role in the health and well-being of each person.
