Math unit 3

  • U: What do you understand in this unit?
  • I understood how to calculate a percentage using different ways.
  • N: What new information did you learn in this unit?
  • I learned the formula for calculating percentages. I also learned how to solve percentages with a number line or a tape diagram.
  • I: What was interesting in this unit?
  • We need to create a project and apply what we’ve learned to real-life situations, so we understand how to use it in everyday life.
  • T: What was tricky for you in this unit?
  • It is hard when I got numbers that 100 would not be able to divide by.

Social Studies Unit 2: Visual Presentation

In this task, we had to make a presentation talking about how the tchnology had an impact on peoples lives. We had to talk about the story of the technology and how it was created and why it was created. I choose to make a cardboard model because It would fit the topic I chose which is sailboats. The model was kind of interractive.

I think I did good on making the presentation connect with our lives.

I think I could do better at putting more time and make the details better.

Social Studies Unit 2: Essay

When we started a new unit, we first brainstormed about the different types of technology. We then chose between communication and transportation. Then we chose a technology in that range. We found articles and then annotated them. We put the information on a graphic organizer. Then we took the information and wrote three CER paragraphs.

I think I did well on annotating articles.

I think I could improve at writing better claims that better fit the topic sentence.

Science unit 2 reflection

EQ: How do our body systems work together when we play our favorite sport?

What I learned about sports helped me a lot with cells because connecting what we are learning in science to everyday life is really helpful.

This relates to the idea that the body is a system of subsystems, made up of groups of cells, because they all work together to make our body function. For example, the different systems in our body provide energy; for instance, the heart pumps blood to the whole body, and the muscles enable us to move. And the Skeletal system provides support for oue body.

Sketch book cover

A reflection about your artistic process, artistic intentions for your artwork (connections to your identity, use of design strategies, and/or how you have met the Creating standard), and any other information that you feel is important to share about your artwork.

I made this artwork because I like the character, Patrick. The character on the cover is smiling because I hope to be happy every time I create art. This is important for me because I see happiness as the most important thing in life. I think I met the standard for identity, but I did not meet the standard for using design strategies because I did not know any at the start of the year.

Art

The clay piece and drawing show that I hope to be happy and exiting because the sunflowers represent happiness. I hope to be happy every day and have hope for everything. I think the artwork shows that everyone should be optimistic about everything they have and do. I think my name painting expresses my own feelings of color and my personality.

I demonstrated persistence during the art project because the clay I made kept cracking. It was hard and annoying to make the cracks heal, but I managed to stay positive and be patient with the clay. When drawing my name, I always had ink flow out, and I didn’t draw my name very well at first. I solved it by using a pencil and trying again. I demonstrated perseverance during the name drawing because I couldn’t get the best letters, but I continued on and not just stuck on the first letter for the whole class.

Stop animal cruelty

The audience is people who are doing experiments on animals. The message was to tell people not to do experiments on animals. I hope people can use objects that simulate a real animal to do experiments if someone would invent one. I used an icon of the needle, which represents the experiments. I used the simplicity of the doodle to make it easier for the audience to understand. For sticker one, it is a rat calling for help when getting caught for doing experiments. Sticker two shows how people should take care of animals and keep peace with them. Sticker three shows an animal turning green because of a virus.

PE TABLE TENNIS

Table tennis is a fun and fast game that I enjoy playing. It helps me improve my hand-eye coordination and makes me think quickly. When I play, I have to watch the ball carefully and move my paddle at the right time. It taught me how to collaborate and play with a partner

UNIT 5 – How did geographical and cultural barriers influence the economy of the Silk Road? Reflection.

We did a activity to preform the trading of the silk road. We are leaning about the ancient silk road and the goods and technology each region has. We researched about how the people traded and the difficulties they had to face. At last we did a trade with other regions and used of resources to trade for other valuable things. The trade was really fun and it could keep students interested to the activity. What didn’t go well is the part were you make the land on a map. It was difficult for 3 groups to work on the same map.

The three norms of collaboration are: Pausing, Putting ideas on the table, and beware of self and others. I am strongest at putting ideas on the table because I can actively share ideas during a conversation. I need to improve on pausing because I need to try to not interrupt anyone. During the silk road unit I liked the splendor game the most because It was fun and competitive
