Swimming/Badminton Reflection

I learn some techniques about badminton.

I improve my serving at badminton.

There are time for us to practice and there was mini lesson.

I face challenges at badminton.

Yes, because I can learn more things about badmointon.

The back hand serve.

The front hand serve.

I learn freestyle at swimming.

I improve my breaststroke.

We have different levels.

No, because I don’t like swimming.

I wish I don better on my freestyle.

Language Art: Dystopian Fiction

I learned about Dystopian Fiction by reading the Giver and writing academic paragraphs responding to question about the text.

What did I do?

We read the whole book and do discussion to share ideas with our teammate. We also write a summary at the end when we finish the book. We take note in our notebook to be ready for the discussion and we record it in schoology.

What did I learn?

I practice my reading and discussion skill in language art. Also many vocabulary from the book.

What worked?

The discussion worked, we communicate with our classmate. I’m proud of the things that I learn through this unit.

What did not work?

Everything worked, I learn a lot from everything.

Personal Relevance

This unit helps me achieve my goals in life because after reading this book, I can understand other book better.

Otzi Unit Reflection

What did I work on? 

We work on observations, inferences, wondering, CER paragraph writing and ‘open and close question’ answering. We know how to answer an open and close question by answering closed questions by yes/no or answering open questions by giving more evidence and reasoning. 

What did I learn? 

We learn about the topic of ‘why we should care about the past’. How did a man that was from 5000 years ago died. We were finding out that whether Otzi was murdered by other person or died because of nature and his own health problem. 

What worked well? 

The court works well. Everyone on the court can say their own thoughts about Otzi’s death in the court. The judge was fair also. I was proud that I was a court reporter and I take many photos on the court shows people that work hard on this. 

What did not work? 

I think I need to improve my research by being a course reporter. Do more detailed research questions and interview more of the expert witnesses. Check the work that I do in class so I can correct the errors that I made.

Personal Relevance 

Collaboration and communication in this unit are important for me in the future. Because I will work with many other people in the future. Just like when I work with the lawyer, court reporter, and expert witnesses in this unit.  I can work with others better by learning collaboration and communication.

What are we doing?

We are writing a fiction story based on a theme.

What are we learning?

What are we writing and how to create or find a theme in a fiction story.

What’s working?

When we watch some video and try to find out the theme in that story.

Areas for growth

When I create my own fiction story, make it more interesting for the readers to read.

Personal relevance

Writing fiction story makes me more creative in the real life.

Growth and development

I’m a 11 year old girl and I’ve noticed my body is changing.

My old dresses are too short now,Mom said I grew 2 centimeters this year! My shoes also need a bigger size. I wear new cloth which Mom helped me pick. She told me this is just part of being a teenage girl.

In PE class, I can stretch farther than before. My hair also grows faster, so I need to get it cut more often. These small changes feel strange at first, but now I know it means I’m growing up healthy.

I’m excited to see how I’ll grow next.

Campaign for the Olympic Reflection

 

What did I work on?  

I work on the presentation, PPT with my partner on which country and city should be host in the Olympic games, and which season in the year should it host in. We search information about the city we are presenting and the culture about Olympic. in many different websites to find the answer and  

What did I learn? 

I learn about the rules about the Olympic games and the difference between the ancient Olympic and the modern Olympic, we watch the Brain POP video and answer the quiz, I also learn a lot from it, just like what sports will the players play, why is the Olympic so popular around the world now. 

What worked? 

The website we search online, Brain POP quizzes, the lessons we take are all very helpful. I learn a lot of information on these resources after we finish this unit. Also, when we make our PPT, I copy it down and share it with classmates in the presentation, this helps me remember the things we search for. 

What did not work? 

All the things work. 

Personal relevance 

I learn many cultures that about Olympic. In my future when I go to see others playing the Olympic, I can understand what they are doing.
