- My real life situation modeled the 18th to 20th century where many children, adults, and elderly people were poisoned by the lead in many products like clothing or the wall paint.
- I am the most proud of my showed work because I spent the most time on it and it was sort of hard to type out all my process.
- The hardest part of creating my piecewise function was starting, I didn’t know where to start.
- I would have made the graph start from( 0,0) because by starting with a year 1175CE it had confused me and I had messed up on the y and x intercept part.
- This project helped me understand that the piecewise function, unlike a graph with only one function, can show how in different places of the x axis the constant rate of change changes.

- Audience Insight: What key message do you want your audience to understand about you as they view your artwork? How did you communicate this message?
I want the audience to understand that I have a whole sea of imagination and shapes and patterns floating in my head and I’m just a boat that is floating around and trying out new things and seeing what I can do. I want the audience to understand that I really like to doodle on my art but I try not to make it too overwhelming and I like to try and keep my artwork interesting but not too much/ overwhelming. Through my artwork , they can tell that I enjoy adding patterns and shapes to make my art more colorful and fun to look at.
- Risk and Experimentation: During the creation of your artwork, how did you take risks and experiment in order to effectively express your intended message?
I initially was afraid to cut my picture/ portrait in half but I did end up cutting it and I did regret it but after adding more elements like news paper and using posca markers I realized it suited my canva well and it shows how I use the resources I have to make a mistake/ something I don’t really like, into something that fits me. I also spent a lot of classes experimenting, wondering what would look best and I wasn’t efficient with my work since I was just overthinking and got nothing done. But when I actually did glue the papers onto the canvas, it helped me shape my ideas better and I’m glad that I did stop thinking and just glued it on because otherwise I might not even be done if I had a whole extra week.

The purpose of this project is to tell us the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships and how to react/ solve when you are in a unhealthy relationship. This analysis shows an unhealthy relationship, an abusive relationship, where we analyzed how this relationship was unhealthy like the lack of effective communication and lack of consent.
The most important thing I learned this unit was that a healthy relationship needs effective communication or else there would be miscommunication and in some cases violence. Boundaries and respect is also very important because without boundaries people wouldn’t have any personal space and it would be an unhealthy and unhappy relationship. And respect is needed because it is connected to effective communication and boundaries, constantly insulting or asking too much from a partner is going to drain them and they could be unhappy with themselves or just unhappy with the relationship that they are in.
After this unit, I learned how to tread water and the rules for water polo.At the beginning of the unit I didn’t even remember how to swim, which surprised me, but at the end of the unit I learned a lot and swam better than the first class. This unit allowed me to review/ reconnect to swimming.

Overall Learning
What was the most
important thing I
learned during the
preparation for the
debates?
The most important thing I learned during debate
preparation was how important AI can be when
helping me with my research writing. By using
Flint Ai, I spent significantly less time researching
and writing than the first unit because it helped
me understand complex information and identify
key evidence quickly. This efficiency allowed me
to revise my speech 4 times, giving me extra time
to shorten my speech and strengthen my points. I
learned/ realized that Flint was very useful and
made my writing and research much easier to
complete.
Challenges and
Persistence
• What was the
hardest part of
this process?
• How did I work
through it?
The hardest part of this process was cutting my
10-minute speech into a 4-minute presentation
while managing my public speaking challenges. I
initially wrote around 990-word speeches that I
spent over 10 minutes reading, so I had to edit
multiple times to reduce it to around 500 words.
Getting my speech into 4 minutes was really
difficult because I’m a slow speaker and tend to
stutter during public speaking, which made it
challenging to fit the speech in 4 minutes.
Additionally, I struggle with eye contact and get
distracted easily, for example, if I look up at
someone and try to continue reading, I most likely
would stutter or forget where I was reading, which
could waste 30s of my 4-minute speech. To work
through this challenge, I practiced about 3 times
daily, focusing on pacing, clarity, and maintaining
focus. Although I got nervous during the actual
debate and some of my speaking challenges
resurfaced, I successfully managed to deliver my
complete speech within the 4-minute timeframe.
Best Evidence
What piece of
research or evidence
do I feel was most
powerful for my
debate
presentation?
The most powerful piece of evidence for my
debate presentation was the PubMed study
showing that 13% to 40% of juvenile detainees
have learning disabilities, averaging 24.9%. This
statistic was the most powerful because out of all
my evidence, it provided the most precise numbers and came from a reliable and well
known source that proves juveniles are
fundamentally different from adults in their
cognitive abilities. Rather than just claiming that
juveniles need different treatment from adults
because they aren’t fully developed, they give
specific numbers proving that one in four juvenile
detainees have struggles with math, reading, and
comprehension skills. This evidence directly
supported my argument that the adult justice
system fails to incorporate these developmental
differences.
Use of Flint AI
• How did Flint AI
help me (e.g.,
brainstorming,
paraphrasing,
organizing)?
• What decisions
or thinking were
still up to me?
Flint Ai helped me in several important ways
during the preparation for the debate. First, it
helped me find my evidence and paraphrase
because I had trouble finding evidence that could
support my points and simplifying evidence so I
could understand. Second, Flint Ai helped me
think of my third point, since I only had two points,
I had asked Flint to help me think of a third point
that didn’t overlap with my partner’s point. Third,
it helped me fix my sentences, because I
sometimes have my ideas, but I can’t write my
sentences to make it sound like sense. Some
decisions/ thinking that were still were up to me:
I decided which sources were credible enough to
use. I chose my practice strategy and how to
manage my speaking challenges. I decided what
to save from Flint AI’s responses and what to
delete or change. I reviewed all the suggestions
and paraphrasing that Flint AI provided, then
chose which parts worked best for my argument
and which parts to remove or revise. Flint AI
helped me find information and organize it, but I
decided what to do with that information and how
to use it in my debate.

process.Active Learner Habits
• Where did I show
persistence,
preparation, and
effective use of
class time?
• Where could I
improve?
Where I showed persistence, preparation, and
effective use of class time:
I showed persistence by practicing my speech
three times daily to fit into the 4-minute time limit,
even though I struggled with public speaking
challenges like stuttering and eye contact. I
showed using Flint AI strategically—it helped me
revise my points, paraphrase evidence, and
understand research so I could use it effectively in
my debate. I used class time effectively by
working with my partner to edit our speeches and
ensure we didn’t have overlapping points/ideas,
and by using Flint AI to help me complete and
refine my speech.
Where I could improve:
I could improve by finishing my speech more
earlier so I have more time to practice before the
actual debate. I could also work on managing my
nervousness better during the presentation, since
I stuttered frequently and had little eye contact
even after practicing. Additionally, I need to
improve my Crossfire preparation. I was so
nervous during the debate that I couldn’t
understand my opponent’s arguments or
remember what to say. I should research better
potential opponent questions and develop better
questions to ask them. Finally, I could practice
staying calm under pressure so I can think clearly
during Crossfire.
Debate Presentation
• In what ways did
my debate
presentation
effectively
communicate my
thinking?
My debate presentation effectively
communicated my thinking through scientific
evidence. I used the Pub Med study showing that
13% to 40% of juvenile detainees have learning
disabilities to prove that juveniles are
fundamentally different from adults. Rather than • What would I
change or
improve if I had
more time?
just claiming my point, with actual statistics, the
audience is more likely to understand my
point/thinking.
If I had more time:
I would prepare more for crossfire by researching
more on what my opponents can say. I would
practice saying my speech more to avoid
stuttering, lack of eye contact, and being too
quiet. I would also find more evidence to rebut the
opponent’s points, making my responses stronger
and more persuasive during Crossfire exchanges
Personal Growth
What new skills did I
gain during the
debate preparation
or the debate
presentation?
New skills I gained during the debate
presentation:
First, I developed better practice strategies by
practicing three times daily, which improved my
delivery and time management. Second, I learned
how to use Flint AI as a research tool to help
revise my speech. Third, I gained skills in
evaluating information—deciding what to keep
from Flint AI’s suggestions and what to change.
Finally, I developed time management skills by
cutting my 10-minute speech to 4 minutes while
keeping my strongest points.1. What individual feedback did you see consistently? Glow/Grow?
I got a lot of feedback on how I was too quiet and sounded unconfident. There
was some feedback that said I spoke clearly but couldn’t really hear me. They
also said that I lacked hand gestures and eye contact.
2. What team feedback did you see consistently?
We got feedback on our crossfire, where we couldn’t answer our opponent’s
questions fluently, and we lacked emotion and emphasis in our speech.
3. Did the overall feedback match what you expected? Why/why not?
Not really, I thought I was getting maybe a 16 or 19 because I was quiet and
lacked eye contact, but I did not expect to get an 8. I think overall in my
presentation I was just quiet because I thought I was loud already and that I
lacked eye contact since I was nervous. So overerall I thought that I would get a
15 because many people were quiet.
I picked this artifact because it shows that I participated alot in the socratic seminar. As a communicator it shows that I was I was eager to talk a lot and have more quantity but I didn’t think about the quality of my answers.
I used to think that mental health meant the problems people had like depression or anxiety, and not being able to control addiction. I also thought that ptsd was just people being afraid and fear something because of past trauma, like people who experienced/went to war.I also thought that depression only meant that people were just really sleepy and have a lack of motivation in life, or have so much anxiety that they couldn’t sleep.
Now I think that mental healths means alot more than just problems people face internally, but also moods, feelings, and actions that they can’t control like alcohol addiction or depression, and have a hard time stopping/ not doing. My perspective changed because of the presentations and I realized that there is so much more to these uncontrollable mental health conditions like depression and eating disorders. It surprised me that depression had multiple types, like bipolar, where sometimes one person could be very energetic & don’t sleep and sometimes are very low in energy /sleepy. Another thing that surprised me was that eating disorders also had many types like anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, and binge eating disorder, which is very different from I used to think because I used to think that people with eating disorders just eat alot and can’t control themselves.

1. Cultural Influence on Aesthetic Choices
After meeting Kool Koor and learning about his artistic journey, how do you think his background in the graffiti culture of the Bronx influenced his aesthetic choices in the techniques and styles he demonstrated?
I think that his graffiti culture of the Bronx had a huge influence on his aesthetic choices in the techniques and styles he demonstrated, because a lot of people were spray painting on the walls with bold colors and limited time, and when he started to demonstrate how he makes his art , I could tell that since everyone in Bronx had painted on walls, he had preferred using large canvas. He still used a lot of color that contrasted or complemented each other, but in Bronx graffiti artists would probably need to be quick with their art; however Kool Koor had a lot of time and developed a style where he waits for the paint to dry to get the amazing effect of colors overlapping.
2. Environmental Impact on Art Creation
Considering Kool Koor’s shift from street art to studio work, how do you think different environments (like the streets versus a classroom) impact an artist’s creative process and choices? In what ways did you feel these environmental influences while trying out his painting style?
I think that the shift from street art to studio work had a major impact on the artist’s creative process and choices because on the street artwork is only temporary since other people can cover it with their own art. Street art also had to be quick because artists wouldn’t want to be caught , but in studio work he has a lot of time to work on, no rush, and he would be able to sort of ‘collect’ his artwork and see how his style has grown and go back to see the process of his art. And being able to see the growth of his art helped develop his art style. While trying out his painting style I felt that there was a lot of waiting and it wasn’t super rushed, which I think is due to the studio work habits, since there is a lot of time in studio art compared to street art.
3. Personal Reflection on Aesthetic Development
What aspects of your culture or environment do you think will influence your future artistic choices for your self-portrait mixed media artwork? How can you incorporate elements from your own background into your artwork to express your unique identity?
I think that my culture wouldn’t have much of a big impact on me but the environment will definitely change my values and memories so I think that what will be important to me will be different in the future artistic choice for my self- portrait mixed media artwork so I might have a different patterns and themes in my art. I can incorporate elements from my background into my artwork to express my unique identity by taking the elements that I think are important and try to express as a different shape or form:
experience with food=chips/boba=helped me deal with stress =maybe i’ll have some string like shapes tangled around each other to show that I am often stressed and anxious.
experience in school : lots and lots of stress, and anxiety in school because education is very important to me.
experience with art: sometimes I try to hard to strive for perfection= I could draw neat shapes in a pattern with simple colors
Pet=golden retriever= BUSTER=family= I could add gold in my art or draw my dog
travel = allows me to be more opened minded = I could draw a light bulb with leaves and branches showing how my beliefs grow as my experience grows.
reflection I wrote after watching the two videos about Kool Koor:
- Kool Koor’s current source of inspiration for his art is the cosmos, and that will never be fully explored also nature and sound(language).
- New York graffiti’s need for speed , lead to kool koor to develop bold, fluid lines. Limited materials inspired his vibrant, bright, and contrasting color palette, while culture’s focus on dynamic movement shaping his energetic composition. In studio work, he maintained his ” raw energy”(like the ‘seaweed’ looking design and futuristic structures with contrasting or complimentary colors.), preserving his signature style as and authentic expression of street culture. Also growing up in a culture where people spray paint onto large walls shows that large canvas are now a ‘habit’ or preference to paint on. Early artwork like in 1985, there was a lot of color and shapes , where he still keeps similar elements of color and sharp & curved lines and shapes, tangled together in his artwork.
- Kool koor’s blend of chaos and control reflect his journey from graffiti roots to professional artist capturing lively nature of urban life while shouting his authentic identity. This mix challenges traditional art borders, and illustrates his transformation by showing , that street culture can coexist with fine art. It bridges his past( street graffiti culture) with his current artistic environment/ studio work. In addition, the style of his artworks shows the transformation from his early art, to his current, there are still key characteristics he preserves in his art like the ‘seaweed’/ futuristic designs and patterns with curves and lines with bold, contrasting colors in his art.

I liked that I got to make my own design for my sticker and I wish that the directions were more clearer because I was confused for most of the time ,until the near end was when I understood what I was suppose to do.
1. I chose question 8 as evidence of my best thinking because I was initially confused with how to find the imposter. I ended up realizing how to solve it and go it correct.
2. I chose question 1 as evidence of my best thinking because I’m not really good at rotations so its good that I got the question correct.
3. Throughout this unit, I improved the most at dilations.
4. I feel that I still need to work on my rotations.
5. List three of your strengths so far this year: dilations, transformations, and proving two triangles are congruent.
6. List three things you want to improve on in the next unit:naming angles, functions, and understanding functions.
In the next unit, I want to be better at math/ solving math problems.
What might get in the way of this goal: My laziness
What can I do if I get stuck or need help: I ask the teacher for help or pressure myself to be more active.
