Design a Story Problem

The story me and my partner made was about winning the fictional ethical global citizen awards, we picked up trash around campus and won the awards. I was really proud that although we were not able to reach the standard the first time, we came together to ultimately achieve a 3. The hardest part of our piecewise function was showing our work clearly, we found it challenging to make our work easy to understand and clear. If I could revise one part about this project, I would make the graph less simple and vary a bit more, as well as add other parts that would make the story and graph much more interesting. This entire project helped me better understand how the graph works and how you can connect it to a real like situation. I really enjoyed this project and learned a lot.

Unit 3: Identity and healthy relationships

In this unit, we learned about different people identities and the key factors that make a healthy relationship. My partner and I decided to make a presentation about the relationship between peter and Lois in Family guy, a popular cartoon. We came to the conclusion that this was an extremely unhealthy relationship due to the excess amount of fighting as well as verbal and physical conflict. There was also I big lack of consent and boundaries set with missing communication between the two.

I learned many things while making this project, but the most important was about how healthy relationships whether with a friend, family member, or significant other needs good and consistent communication. One of the main reasons Peter and Lois’s relationship is unhealthy is because when there are conflicts, they dont communicate and instantly jump to arguments and violence. If they were able to communicate with each other and talk it out, a lot of fights could have been prevented

Another important thing I learned in this unit was about consent. Consent is extremely important becausr it makes sure both sides are okay for what is going to happen. I had lots of misconceptions of consent and I believe I now understand consent as a whole much better. For example, I used to think that as long as they say yes, it is fine, but I learned that proper consent in both sides being enthuisiastic. Lots of people say yes unqillingly due to social pressure, or because they are unconscious and not able to make a correct decision.

In conclusion, I learned a lot in this Unit on how to build and maintain a healthy relationship.

Health Unit 2 Portfolio

I used to have a completely different perception on mental health and the causes, symptoms, and much more. One big thing Ive learned throughout this projects is about the harmful stigmatiziation of mental health conditions in general, I used to the think what movies and tv shows represented about people who have mental health conditions being psychos were what they really were, but after doing further research and listening to my peers, my thoughts have changed. Another thing I learned was all the different mental health conditions, I used to think mental health conditions were limited to one or two, but now i understand more about it.

Science Reflection

What i am most proud of in Science so far is my 3 for 3, my first 3 for 3 was pretty bad, but after that i made sure to prepare well and was able to consistently get 3s, I think my biggest challenge is the CER’s and making sure they are well aligned and not including reasoning into my evidence, I think in Science wht I will do to improve is practice CER;s more and be focused and attentive during class

Language arts Unit 1 reflection

In the first ELA unit this year one thing I really enjoyed is the alien project and teaching the alien english, I really liked doing this because I thought it was very engaging and Iearned a lot of parts of speech, grammar, denotations and connotations, and much more, In my opinion teaching someone to do something is one of the best ways to learn it yourself, and I think i did the alien project really well and my final paragraph came out really good.

One thing I could have imporved during this unit is managaing my independant time better and having better time management in general, I think even if I don’t get a 3 for q1, I think I learned a lot of valuable things on how to improve how I do independant time passport moving forward.

WOOP Goal

My starting point is that I tend to procrastinate, I find that many factors like video games and social media or forgetting the work makes me procrastinate and I usually have a lot of work piled up when its due, and it makes me get really bad sleep.

Some steps I will take is using apps like remember the milk and make sure to get my work done. I hope doing this will help me remember my work and help me procrastinate less.

The app I am using remember the milk is less addictive and helps my health, the app has little to no mechanisms that intend to keep users hooked and wanting more, it also helps your health, the app also has a very simple design that is very easy to follow, all you have to do is add a task and when to notify you to do it, the minimilistic design Is something I really like about the app , itss goal is reminding you to complete tasks and get things done, it has really helped me remember assignments and make sure to complete everything i want to do that day, So far I think it is going really well.

Some things that the app has helped me with is finishing my homework, after school, I make sure to put in my homework in the app and when I get home, I get notifications on my phone and it really helps me remember my assignments when I would normally forget without the app

My Hypothesis is that I will be able to use remember the milk to remind me to focus, do specific assignments, remember to do work on time, and in turn get better grades and improve the quality of my schoolwork.

Stress and the Teen brain Reflection

In this Unit, we learned about the teen brain and the Major differences between the teen brain and the adult brain, we learned about the amygdala, prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus, and that the reason teens are prone to making reckless decisions is because the prefrontal cortex, which is the part for making rational decisions, is not fully developed yet. For the project, me and my partner made a video explaining the parts of the teen brain and the major differences, in the video, we also talked about ways to cope with stress, for example, methods like box breathing or taking deep breaths can help tremendously when coping with stress.

Overall, I had a lot fo fun with this project and looking forward to more like this in health this year.

Probability fair reflection

Our group created the game called “The Wheel of Fate” Our game was about spinning a wheel and risking it to move it to the next round. We had to work together to design poster, calculate probabilities, and much more. I think our game went really well as many people came to play our game and they seemed happy with the prizes, the Experimental and theoretical probabiltiy (50%) were very different, and people won a lot more than they lost. This might be because when it was vry close on the wheel sometimes we just gave them the win, I think one thing we could all improve is making sure our wheels worked consistently and running the stand as well as exploring other stands in well distributed and we all got to do everything equally.
