Full assignment:
1. Describe your story and what real-life situation it modeled?
My story is about a little girl, Genghis, that likes candy, selling lemonade to earn money in order to buy candy. My story models children selling lemonade to earn money in real-life!
2. What part of your project are you most proud of? Why?
I was most definitely most proud of the part where I had to answer the question I made myself. When answering the question, I really regret making a somewhat considered a complicated question. However, I decided to just go along with it and solve it. I am really proud of myself of spending my time trying to solve a problem that can completely be changed to be “easier”.
3. What was the hardest part of creating your piecewise function?
The hardest part of creating my piecewise function is the part I’m most proud of, solving my own problem. I thought that it was one of the parts that really required me to “think” (more). Additionally I had to show work/explain in a way that other people will understand how I solved the problem, which was really difficult to do.
4. If you could revise one part of this project, what would you improve and how?
If I could revise one part of this project, it would be that last part, explaining which form of equation fits in modeling the problem. I feel like the reasoning is a bit vague and short. I most definitely could improve it by specifying “why” which would make it longer.
5. What did this project help you understand better about piecewise functions?
This project was a really fun way of helping me understand piecewise functions better. In this project I practiced using piecewise functions using a realistic situation which really showed me how these things can be used in real life. Additionally, it helped me exercise finding domain, range, slope, and what these mean in context.
